  • This study aims to examine the relationship between perceived organizational support (POS), work engagement (WE), and turnover intention (TI) among employees of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) characterized by whether or not to participate in the work-learning dual system (WLDS). Also, this study intends to explore the effectiveness of WLDS by examining significant differences between the two groups. To achieve the purpose of this study, we have conducted surveys between August and December in 2018. A total of 616 cases (321 cases from SMEs participating in WLDS and 295 cases from general SMEs) were finally selected and used for data analysis with structural equation modeling (SEM). Results of the study revealed that POS had a significant and positive effect on WE. Also, POS had a significant and negative effect on TI. In addition, the mediating effect of WE in the relationship between POS and TI was found to be statistically significant. Furthermore, the results revealed that the conditional indirect effect between POS and TI depending on participation in WLDS was statistically significant. However, the conditional direct effect between POS and TI due to WLDS participation was not statistically significant. Based on the results, academic and practical implications were discussed.

  • The rapid changes in the environment surrounding today's companies require continuous securing and retention of excellent human resources to maintain competitiveness. Therefore, research on work engagement (WE) and turnover intention (TI) was actively conducted as a representative factor necessary to secure the organizational competitive advantage and promote continuous growth. This is because the high performer has relatively high capabilities and high employability according to market demand, so securing and maintaining them is a very important issue from the perspective of corporate management. Research on the relationship between WE and TI have been conducted in various fields so far, but the results have been derived differently for each study. This means that there may be differences depending on the characteristics of the domestic context. However, studies that analyzed the relationship from a comprehensive and overall perspective are very rare, and the need for research is raised. Therefore, this study attempted to statistically analyze the relationship between variables and present research directions by synthesizing the results of existing studies. Through the analysis of previous studies, a meta-analysis was conducted on the effect of WE on TI within the organization in the domestic context to analyze the effect, and academic and practical implications were derived based on this.

  • Recently, with the MZ generation's entry into society and the social participation of the female population, conflicts are occurring between workplace groups that value WLB and existing groups that emphasize collaboration due to differences in work orientation. Public institutions and companies that utilize work-life balance support systems show differences in job Commitment depending on the nature of the work and the activation of the support system. Accordingly, it is necessary to verify the effectiveness of the WLB support system actually operated by the company and present universally valid standards. The purpose of this study is, first, to verify the effectiveness of the support system for work-life balance and to find practical consensus amid changes in policies and perceptions of the working environment. Second, the influence of work-life balance level and job immersion according to work characteristics was analyzed to verify the mutual influence in order to establish standards for WLB operation that reflects work characteristics. For the study, a 2X2 matrix model was used to analyze the impact of work-life balance and work characteristics on job commitment, and four hypotheses were established. First, analysis of the job involvement level of conflict-type group members, second, analysis of the job involvement level of leading group members, third, analysis of the job involvement level of agreeable group members, and fourth, analysis of the job involvement level of cooperative group members. To conduct this study, an online survey was conducted targeting employees working in public institutions and large corporations. The survey was conducted for a total of 9 days from October 23 to 31, 2023, and 163 people responded, and the analysis was based on a valid sample of 152 people, excluding 11 copies that were insincere responses or gave up midway. As a result of the study's hypothesis testing, first, the conflict type group was found to have the lowest level of job engagement at 1.43. Second, the proactive group showed the highest level of job engagement at 4.54. Third, the conformity group showed a slightly lower level of job involvement at 2.58. Fourth, the cooperative group showed a slightly higher level of job involvement at 3.80. The academic implications of the study are that it subdivides employees' personalities into factors based on the level of work-life balance and nature of work. The practical implications of the study are that it analyzes the effectiveness of WLB support systems operated by public institutions and large corporations by grouping them.

A total of 156 answered questionnaires were used as final data. The following conclusions were obtained by conducting correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 18.0 statistical program. First, it is found that Organizational commitment effects some sub-factors of job stress such as inappropriate compensation, insufficient job control and job requirements. Second, it is found that turnover intent affects some sub-factors of job stress such as inappropriate compensation, insufficient job control and job requirements. Third, it is found that turnover intent affects Organizational commitment. Based on the result of the research, job stress seems to affect organizational commitment and people's decisions to change jobs. The two variables job stress and organizational commitment act as key factors in deciding whether to change jobs, while organizational commitment plays as an important parameter. In other words, there should be principles to do work along with channels through which workers communicate with each other. To this end, there need to be programs educating people to work together as well as systematic assistance and support to encourage people to develop their expertise.

  • This study investigates the influence of transformational and transactional leadership styles of commanders in fire service organizations on organizational commitment and job satisfaction. A survey was conducted with the staffs of four fire stations in Gyeonggi Province. The results show that the charismatic characteristics of transformational leadership and the management by exception of transactional leadership positively influence both organizational commitment and job satisfaction. This indicates that the fire officers can be devoted to their organizations and be satisfied with their jobs when their supervisors give directions with charisma and vision and when they delegate authority to the fire officers except in particular situations.

Empirical survey's findings are as follows; First, self-efficacy and optimism appeared to be positively related with organizational commitment, and all psychological capital factors(self-efficacy, resilience and optimism) appeared to be positively related with innovative behavior. Second, organizational support appeared to have moderating effect partly on the relationship between psychological capital and organizational commitment, but it did not have a moderating effect on the relationship between psychological capital and innovative behavior. Self-efficacy and optimism appeared to be more positively related with organizational commitment in higher organizational support situation than in lower organizational support situation.
