The Effects of Client Violence on the Burnout of Social Workers Working for Social Welfare Facilities - Focusing on the moderating effects of Institutional confrontation system and demographic characteristic - (사회복지시설 클라이언트의 폭력에 대한 종사자의 반응이 직무소진에 미치는 영향 - 시설의 대응체계와 인구통계적 특성의 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the policy implications through the analysis on the effects of social workers' negative reactions for client violence on burnout. Especially, This study is focused on identifying the moderating effects of demographic characteristics and institutional confrontations system. This study was carried out based on survey of social workers on social welfare facilities located in G metropolitan city and J province. The major findings can be summarized as follows. First, Social workers' negative reactions toward client violence affect on burnout significantly. Second, demographic characteristics and institutional confrontations system moderate the relationship between social workers' negative reactions toward client violence and their burnout. This study suggested some implications basing on the analytical results.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of organizational justice and job stress on social worker's job satisfaction between social welfare using facilities and community(living) facilities. The results of this study were as follow. First, social worker's organizational justice's 3 sub-dimensions; distributive justice, procedural justice, interactional justice and job satisfaction are same result through the latent average analysis between social welfare using facilities and community(living) facilities. however, social worker who works in living facilities job stress is higher level than using facilities worker. Second, distributive justice, interactional justice has a positive effect to job stress but procedural justice has not statistical effect. In addition, only interactional justice have a negative effect to job stress, job stress have negative effect to job satisfaction. Third, In this study, established structural model are existed partially difference between group of facility types.

  • The research which sees the fact that about model found of the duty factor whom follows in old person welfare facility worker holding office duration and organized performance researches in purpose. From theoretical background about the old person welfare facility system investigated a theory about the duty factor and organized performance of literature investigation and the old person welfare facility worker. A theory analysis of positive data led based on about the effect factor of the causality which the duty factor of the old person welfare facility worker reaches in organized performance under verifying boil the modulating effect of holding office duration. The repair which is a duty factor of the old person welfare facility worker, according to the holding office duration which is a personal quality factor job satisfaction the promotion and organized natural features, business environment and organized structure are organized performance and organization immersion and loyalty degree different assumed with the fact that will affect. From positive analysis about the research object verifies a suitable degree about demographics school register analytical and study model, structural equation model leads and construction verification and modulating effect analysis under executing boil.

Differences in Job Stress by Occupation Before and After the Reaction to COVID-19 among Care Facility for the Elderly (요양시설 종사자의 코로나 19 대응 전·후 직종별 직무스트레스 차이)

  • This study is a descriptive survey study attempted to find out the difference in stress by occupation before and after responding to COVID-19 among care facility for the elderly. In this study, a survey was conducted on workers in care facility for the elderly in Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeonggi-do from March 22 to April 25, 2021. Of a total of 220 questionnaires, 206 were collected, and the data were analyzed through t-test, one way ANOVA, and chi-square test. According to the research results, the difference in the sub-areas of job stress before and after the COVID-19 response of nursing home workers shows that nurses have job demands(t=-3.90, p<.001), job instablity(t=-3.30, p=.002), the nursing assistant has job demands(t=-2.45, p=.018), nursing care workers have job autonomy(t=-3.34, p=.001) showed a significant difference. Therefore, in order to effectively solve job stress according to the occupation of workers in care facility for the elderly in the COVID-19 era, stress relief programs for each occupation must be customized.

The Mediating Effect of the Organizational Commitment between the Coworker Relations and the Burnout of the Professionals in Community Rehabilitation Facilities (장애인지역사회재활시설 종사자의 동료관계와 소진의 관계에서 조직헌신의 매개효과)

  • The research purpose is analyzing the relationship between the coworker relations and the burnout of professionals in community rehabilitation facilities for the disabled. And this study verifies the mediating effect of organizational commitment between the two variables. We conducted a survey of professionals working in 14 facilities of Daejeon and Chungnam area, and the 352 data were utilized for analysis. The analysis results are as follows. 1) The coworker relations of professionals influenced the burnout negatively and the organizational commitment positively. 2) In addition, the mediating effect of organizational commitment was testified between the coworker relations and the burnout. Based on these research findings, several measures were suggested to reduce the professionals' burnout.

  • This study was to examine the recognition and guarantee for psychiatric patients' rights of mental health care workers. The participants of this study were 231 mental health care workers from 10 mental health care institutions located in J city, Korea. Data was collected using questionnaires consisting of one instrument measuring participants' recognition and guarantee for psychiatric patients' rights, and participants' characteristics. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA with SPSS 12.0. The results of this study showed the mental healthcare workers' recognition and guarantee were significantly different in every subscales. Besides, the difference between recognition and guarantee toward psychiatric patients' rights was significantly associated with participants' occupations. Based on the findings, guiding where nursing education efforts should be focused to help putting in place the psychiatric patients' rights.

Childcare Facilities, Private Education Expenses, and Birth Rate: Evidence from Korean Regional Data (우리나라 지역별 자녀 양육환경과 출산율에 관한 실증분석)

  • This study attempts to assess the effects of childcare facilities and private education expenses on birth rate and also, to examine whether or not the quality and reliability of childcare facilities affect birth rate. Private education expenses are proxied by the number of private educational institutes or their employees. The study measures the quality and reliability of childcare facilities either by the number of employees per childcare facility or by the ratio of childcare facilities with less than 10 employees to total facilities. Empirical analysis is carried out with a cross-sectional data of 232 areas (si/gun/gu) in 2009. Empirical results indicate that the number of childcare facilities or their employees tended to increase birth rate, while private educational expenses had no effects on birth rate. It appears that the presence of good and reliable childcare facilities contributed to an increase in birth rate. The results provide several policy implications for an increase in fertility.

  • This study aims to establish a research model to analyze the structural relationship between the working environment of the elderly medical welfare facility workers, the trust of the manager, and the quality of service. As a result, first, it was found that there was a significant causal relationship among service quality in the working environment of the elderly medical welfare facility workers. Second, it was found that there was a significant causal relationship between the working environment and the trust of managers of the elderly medical welfare facility workers. Therefore, in order to achieve the goal of the elderly medical welfare facility and improve the quality of service, it is necessary to create a working environment and establish a trust relationship among members. In addition, in order to cultivate competency and provide high-quality services for the elderly medical welfare facility workers, managers need to understand the individual characteristics of members, and to assign duties according to roles, accurate division of duties and personnel management are required.

  • The goal of this study is to analyze the effect of the working environment of elderly care facility employees on the care service quality and the mediation effect of social support. The results of the research were as follows: First, it has been confirmed that a high level of average monthly salary and the salary satisfaction theref have a positive correlation with an improvement in care service quality in the working environment variables of elderly care facility employees. Second, it has been confirmed that the average monthly salary and the salary satisfaction level among the working environment variables of elderly care facility employees have a positive correlation on the parameter of social support. Third, a partial mediation effect of social support has been confirmed in the effect that average monthly salary and the salary satisfaction level variables have on the quality of care service in the working environment of elderly care facility employees. Thus, this study actively reflects the social situation of an aged society and uses "Self-checking Management Measures" capable of suggesting the management direction for the elderly care facility to measure its service quality and proposes a method to improve the working environment of the elderly care facility employees.

  • Infection of the disease that are propagated through a dead body of management and transportation must be very careful. Risk of infection that can occur between the deceased body and funeral directors, guideline of the preparation room and infection route of infection source has been studies in Korea. But the funeral director's working circumstances and infection blocking facility of the funeral home has not been studied in Korea. So we are investigated about the state of the working circumstances and Infection blocking facility within Metropolitan, Chungcheong and Gyeongsang regions in Korea. The result is as follows. The funeral directors have shown that there is difficult to get safe protection from infection. The personal hygiene of funeral directors and the infection blocking facility should be strengthened institutionally. We are thought to require more in-depth research about the working circumstances of funeral director and the infection blocking facility.
