Study on the Optimized Condition of the Slot-Die Coating Process (슬롯다이 코팅의 최적화 조건에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we study the coating performance according to the slot-die conditions in the coating process. The quality of the slot-die coating depends on factors such as feeding speed of film, the viscosity of liquid, and the pressure applied to the slot-die. In this study, we determine the optimum conditions for a stable coating by performing 2-D and 3-D simulations. We carry out numerical simulations with respect to the feeding velocity of the film, the pressure of the slot-die inlet, and the viscosity of the coating liquid. Based on the results, the coating was the most reliable when the pressure of the inlet was $5kgf/cm^2$, the viscosity was about 100 cps and the velocity was 20 m/min.

  • 매니폴로 부분이 선형 경사진 옷걸이형 다이의 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 다이흐름을 3차원 이용하여 해석함으로써 정확한 최적 설계결과를 얻을수 있었으며 형상 최적화 과정을 고찰함으로써 최적 설계도구의 효율성을 조사하였다. 공정의여러 매개변수들이 매니폴드의 형상에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 멱법칙 유체의 멱법칙 지수, 다이 슬롯의 두께 및 매니폴드 각도를 변화시켜며 최적 설계를 수행하였다.

Orthogonally-Polarized Dual-Band Switchable Microstrip Antenna Using PIN-Diode Loaded H-Shape Slot (PIN 다이오드가 구비된 H 모양 슬롯을 이용한 직교편파 이중대역 변환 마이크로스트립 안테나)

  • This paper proposes a novel orthogonally-polarized dual-band switchable microstrip antenna. The proposed antenna consists of a perpendicular feeding network and an radiator with a PIN-installed H-shaped slot. When the states of one single PIN diode in H-slot are controlled by bias voltages, the controlled physical geometry of the H-slot determines the operation frequencies of switchable 1.80 GHz and 2.43 GHz for vertically polarized linear polarization and fixed 2.06 GHz for horizontally linear polarization. The implemented antenna experimentally demonstrates reconfigurable dual-band capability by means of controling the states of the PIN diode. The simulation and measurement results of the implemented antenna have been in good agreement with the reflection coefficients, realized antenna gains and far-field radiation patterns at each of the PIN diode states.

High-Precision Slot-Die Coating Machine for Thin Films of Flexible Display (플렉시블 디스플레이용 박막 도포를 위한 초정밀 슬롯다이 코팅장비)

  • We developed a compact high-precision slot-die coating machine for thin-film deposition on a flexible substrate. For smooth and precise coating, air-bearing and linear motor system were employed to minimize velocity ripple. The gap control mechanism is specially designed to have repeatability of gap between nozzle and substrate under 1 ${\mu}m$. Due to extremely precise gap control, the machine can coat thin-films down to 50 nm with $200mm{\times}100mm$ size. A thin film of Ag nano-particle ink is coated for demonstration.

  • In this paper, the electric characteristic of the SGPS with slot in the ground plane is similar to the parallel resonant circuit. When the slot length in SGPS is equal to the half wavelength of specific frequency, the characteristic of SGPS represent the large attenuation at the specific frequency. We found out the relation between attenuation and resistor on the slot in SGPS and we designed the variable attenuator for MMIC using the variable resistor. This attenuator can be applied to AGC circuit in transceiver if the PIN diode is used replace for resistor.

  • The perovskite solar cell is a next-generation solar cell that replaces the existing silicon solar cell. It is a solar cell device using an organic-inorganic hybrid material having a perovskite structure as a photoactive layer. It has advantages for the process and has shown rapid efficiency improvement over the past decade. In the process of commercialization of such perovskite solar cells, research and development for a large-area coating method should be carried out. As one of the large-area perovskite solar cell large-area coating methods, the slot-die coating method was studied. By using a meniscus to pass over the substrate and coating the solution, the 3D printer was equipped with a meniscus so that it could be coated. Variables that act during coating include bed temperature, coating speed, N2 blowing interval, N2 blowing height, N2 blowing intensity, etc. By controlling these, the perovskite absorption layer was manufactured and the coating conditions for manufacturing large-area devices were optimized.

A Polarization-Switchable Microstrip Patch Antenna Using Corner Slots on Ground Plane and PIN Diodes (모서리 접지면 슬롯과 PIN 다이오드를 이용한 편파 변환 마이크로스트립 안테나)

  • In this paper, a switchable circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna using PIN diodes and corner slots on ground plane is proposed at 2.4 GHz. The proposed antenna has a square microstrip patch and ground plane that consists of two pair of slots and PIN diodes. The electrical lengths of the slots are adjusted by using the switching characteristic of the PIN diode, so the polarization of the proposed antenna can be switchable between linear, left-handed(LH) and right-handed(RH). By separating the ground plane for the DC bias, the size reduction effect is also obtained. When the proposed antenna is operated as linear polarization, the return loss and impedance bandwidth are 15 dB, 59 MHz, and when operated as LH and RH polarization, the minimum axial ratio and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth are 1.17 dB, 1.67 dB, 28 MHz, and 32 MHz, respectively.

Annular ring slot antenna with a variable circular polarized mode characteristic (가변 원형편파 모드 특성을 갖는 원형 링 슬롯 안테나)

  • In this paper, the reconfigurable annular ring slot antenna with circular polarization diversity is proposed for SDMB(Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) system. The proposed antenna consists of a ring slot with four tuning stubs. Four PIN diodes are attached to switch circular polarization diversity. By switching the diodes ON or OFF, the proposed antenna can be operated either RHCP mode or LHCP mode. The experimental result shows that the proposed antenna has an impedance bandwidth(VSWR${\leq}$2) of 570MHz(2.47-3.04GHz) at LHCP mode, an impedance bandwidth (VSWR${\leq}$2) of 560MHz(2.45-3.01GHz) at RHCP mode, a maximum gai of 3.1dBi at RHCP mode, 4.76dBi at LHCP mode. The 3dB CP bandwidth of about 100MHz at both RHCP and LHCP mode is achieved at the center frequency 2.63GHz. The proposed antenna is suitable for application such as mobile satellite communications, WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks), and broadband wireless communication systems.

Switchable Frequency of an Equilateral Triangular Microstrip Antenna with PIN Diodes (PIN 다이오드를 이용한 정삼각형 마이크로스트립 안테나의 동작 주파수 변환)

  • In this paper a novel design of equilateral-triangular microstrip antenna using PIN diode fur switching the resonant frequency is presented and experimentally studied. The proposed antenna has changed the resonant frequency by length of spur-lines on the patch, and PIN diodes are utilized to switch the spur-line on and off. The shape of the spur-line is changed according to the on and off states of PIN diode and the equilateral triangular microstrip antenna has different resonant frequencies in accordance with them. The resonant frequency is 1.22 GHz with off states since the surface currents flow the periphery of T shape spur-lines, while the resonant frequency is 1.82 GHz with on states since the surface currents are little effect with the conventional equilateral triangular microstrip antenna. The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna has a good linear polarization with the cross polarization of -20 dB both with on and off states.
