A Study on Consumer Protection Measures and Actual State of Consumer Complaints in E-Commerce (전자상거래 소비자 피해실태와 소비자보호 대책에 관한 연구)

  • The electronic commerce continues to grow dramatically. Also, consumer complaints and damages related to e-commerce grow rapidly. The analysis of consumer complaints showed that consumer of e-commerce tended to buy the various product categories including cloth and home appliance. The damages of delivery problem rapidly rose by 1,185.3%. In categories of transaction including of 'internet shopping mall', 'internet contents' and 'internet auction', about 90% of consumer damages was related to 'internet shopping mall' but consumer damages of 'internet contents' was anticipated to be increased in the near future. The major goods and services of damages was 'digital camera', notebook PC', 'internet game service' etc. Therefore, it is required to establish consumer protection measures to be prevent consumer fraud such as internet shopping mall, Halfplaza.com, and major goods and services of damages. Also, it is need to establish system of spontaneous consumer protection improving consciousness of e-commerce companies.

  • Advanced digital environment, ease of life would bring significant benefits, but rather indiscriminate access to information have occurred new social problems. Especially the youth and children using the Internet to increase in population resulting from harmful information on the Internet, concerns about the negative impact increases establish policies for the protection of youth and children emphasizes the importance of various activities international community. Despite major countries aim to self-regulation minimize the direct regulation through collaboration with the private sector cultivation and campaign, continuing education, Korea was analyzed that implement direct and coercive enforcement regulations such as 'internet game shut down' and insufficient social infrastructure to create activities. Therefore, in order to create a positive internet environment, self-regulation is essential with private experts and organizations based on cooperation and indirect regulation.

Representation of Drinking in Cultural Contents: Analysis of Television Drama Texts (지상파 TV 콘텐츠에 나타난 음주 : 황금시간대 고시청률 드라마 분석과 수용자 인식조사)

  • This study aimed to 1) analyze television drama text to examines how Korean television dramas represent alcohol drinking; 2) interview the actual drama audience to examine how they perceive drinking and whether or not their perception is influenced by the drama text. The author analyzed 60 drama episodes from 12 prime time shows that reached over 20% rating from 2008 to 2010. The result shows that drinking in dramas are portrayed as a solution to various kinds of personal and business problems, medium of romance, a tool for interpersonal communication that facilitates understanding and positive relationship. Female drinkers are prominent but their drinking is taking place under the patronage of male characters, which lead to the maintenance of patriarchal social relations. Interview findings show that the audience have strong motivation to imitate the glamourous lifestyles of leading characters in dramas. The findings strongly suggest observational learning was taking place, especially in the area where the viewers have no direct experience.

Zero-Watermarking based on Chaotic Side Match Vector Quantization (무질저한 SMVQ 기반의 제로-워터마킹)

  • Digital watermarking is a technology for preventing illegal copying, for protecting intellectual property rights and copyrights, and for suggesting grounds of the ownership by inserting watermarks into digital contents. Generally speaking, watermarking techniques cannot escape from data distortion and quality degradation due to the watermark insertion. In order to overcome the shortcoming, zero-watermarking techniques which do not change the original data have been proposed recently. This paper proposes CSMVQ(Chaotic SMVQ), a zero-watermarking system for SMVQ(Side Match Vector Quantization) which shows better compression ratio and quality and less blocking effect than VQ(Vector Quantization). In SMVQ, compression progresses from left top to right bottom in order to use the information of the two neighbor blocks, so it is impossible to insert watermarks chaotically. In the process of encoding, CSMVQ dynamically considers the information of the (1 to 4) neighbor blocks already encoded. Therefore, watermark can be inserted into digital contents in chaotic way. Experimental results show that the image quality compressed by CSMVQ is better than that of SMVQ and the inserted watermark is robust against some common attacks.

Improvement of Image Scrambling Scheme Using DPSS(Discrete Prolate Spheroidal Sequence) and Digital Watermarking Application (DPSS(Discrete Prolate Spheroidal Sequence)를 이용한 영상 스크램블링 방식의 개선 및 디지털 워터마킹 응용)

  • As one of schemes to protect multimedia content. it is the selective encryption scheme to encrypt partially multimedia content. Compared AES(advanced encryption standard) of traditional encryption, the selective encryption scheme provides low security but is applicable to applications of multimedia content not to require high secrecy. In this paper, we improve the image scrambling scheme proposed by Van De Ville which scrambles an image without bandwidth expansion using DPSS(discrete prolate spheroidal sequence) to make it more secure based on Shujun's research which verifies the secrecy of Van De Ville's scheme. The proposed method utilizes an orthonormalized random matrix instead of Hadamard matrix for secret matrix and to add it for providing high secrecy against statistical attack or known-plaintext attack using some statistical property or estimate of secret matrix from a scrambled image. The experimental results show that the proposed method is more secure than the existing scheme. In addition, we show that the proposed method can be applied to access control or copy control of watermarking application.

Application of 3D Digital Documentation to Natural Monument Fossil Site (천연기념물 화석산지의 3차원 디지털 기술 적용)

  • 20 fossil sites of numerous fossil sites in Korea have been designated as Natural Monument for protection and conservation. Many of the sites which is located at the coastal area have been gradually disfigured by natural weathering, erosion and human activity. Thus the conservation of the original form and the documentation for the original figure are necessary. In this study, we applied 3D digital documentation to Natural Monument No. 394, Haenam Uhangri dinosaur, pterosaur, and bird footprint fossil site, for maintaining the original form of the dinosaur footprints. We were able to obtain the 3D digital data on two dinosaur footprint sites, a high resolution distributional map, and more accurate digital data of the dinosaur footprints applied the rendering method by ambient occlusion. 3D digital data on the dinosaur footprints is worth for the conservation and research data, moreover content for applying to the various fields such as to make 3D brochure, interactive contents, and so on.

  • 미디어 서비스 및 디스커버리 관련 기술 개발은 주로 DTV, 인터넷, 개인 모바일 멀티 미디어 기기 중심의 미디어 서비스가 주를 이루고, 이러한 미디어 서비스들은 홈 네트워크 환경과 융합하여 홈 미디어 서비스의 새로운 서비스를 창출하고 있다. 개인들은 이미 많은 이동형 멀티미디어 기기들을 소유하기 시작했고, 각 기기마다 플레이 가능한 컨텐츠 포맷, 라이선스 구조, 상세정보를 기술하는 정보들이 서로 상이하게 제공되기도 한다. 이런 멀티디미어 환경의 발달과 함께, 개인간 또는 개인이 소유한 기기간 컨텐츠를 공유하고자 하는 요구가 생겨나고, 개인 맞춤을 위한 서비스를 받고자 소유한 개인 컨텐츠 포맷 및 라이선스 파일들 개인정보와 콘텐츠를 기술하는 메타 데이터들은 DRM 정보, 개인의 습성 및 취향 등에 대한 개인 정보를 포함하고 있어 보안 및 보호가 필요하다. 따라서 IPTV 환경에서 이종 DRM이 설치된 기기사이에 컨텐츠 상호 연동 방에 대한 연구를 하였다.

  • This study focused on the crisis of local private broadcasting and political solution. The local private broadcasting has launched in 1995. Until now, local private broadcasting is successful in stable management and ensuring profit but it is attributed to a role of transmission pipe of SBS. However, this kind of syndication system has been a major problem of local private broadcasting and local private broadcasting has become weak and weak from outside impact. Presently broadcasting market has been changed very fast. It enters into unlimited competition era of multimedia and multichannel. However, especially local private broadcasting has both of public and private characteristics. Thus, local private broadcasting should not be hung by the wall any more. In this study administrative outcome of local private broadcasting will be analyzed and some hot political issues will be analyzed also then the political solution might be looked up at the same time. Now local private broadcasting also should be changed to totally new broadcasting company pursuing creative local contents and new digital concept.

Investigating the Trends of Research for the Small Business Owners (소상공인 연구 동향 분석)

  • In this study, prior studies of 280 small business owners in Korea over the past two decades were comprehensively analyzed through keyword network and LDA topic modeling analysis, and overall views and trends in academia were examined. As core keywords, "sales" and "protection," which conflict with each other but are essential for stable and sustainable growth were selected, and 7 topics (Topic 1: start-up, topic 2: digital, topic 3: tax system, topic 4: capability, topic 5: coexistence, topic 6: regulation, and topic 7: funding) were drawn up. Based on the results of the analysis, the need to improve digital maturity for the continued growth and development of small business owners was raised, and the response at the pan-ministerial level and the stability of the performance of functions that can survive even after the new administration to solve the economic damage problems facing small business owners were suggested. In addition, attention to the long-term, speed, detail, and direction of government support in a new way, and a flexible approach to the negative way in which pre-allowance and post-regulation is given were suggested.

Design of A Generic and Scalable DRM Scheme using HC-256 Stream Cipher (HC-256 스트림 암호화를 이용한 범용성 및 확장성을 가진 DRM 기법 설계)

  • Digital Rights Management(DRM) is a term that refers technologies for imposing limitations on the use of digital content for protecting media copyright holders. This paper proposes a generic scheme for digital media copy protection that can be applied to any digital media such as audio, video, etc. The scheme will make it very hard to play a copied content on a foreign platform and to guess secret content encryption keys. Unlike other DRM techniques, the scheme uses the stream cipher HC-256 only for encrypting media content and it allows a client to start content playback immediately following its streamed decryption. As to the encryption, it requires to generate several secret keys for each new client(player copy), rather than for each media content, which makes it scalable in terms of managed keys. Also, for simplicity, the scheme supports the popular unlimited-play-after-download policy only, which would eliminate the necessity for deploying separate server or process for licensing.
