A Method to Adjust the Optimal Phase Angle of Resolver Excitation Signal (레졸버 여자신호의 최적 위상 조정 방법)

  • If the speed measurement of resolver and the generation of PWM signals are implemented with single microcontroller, it is easy to reduce the system cost and to avoid the switching noise of inverters. To avoid the switching noise and to improve the accuracy of measurement, PWM switching and A/D sampling of the resolver should be synchronized. Phase angle of the resolver excitation signal is increased in stepwise manner, then, the output signal of the resolver is measured in each step. From the measured data, the optimal phase angle of resolver excitation signal is estimated using the least square approximation method.

  • A new CMOS If Package design methodology is presented, analyzing the electrical characteristics of a package and its effects on the CMOS digital circuits. An analytical investigation of the package noise effects due to the simultaneous switching of the gates within a chip, i.e., simultaneous switching noise (SSN) is performed. Then not only are novel design formula to meet electrical constraints of the Package derived, but also package design methodology based on the formula is proposed. Further, in order to demonstrate the Proposed design methodology, the design results are compared with HSPICE (a general purpose circuit simulator) simulation for $0.3\mu\textrm{m}$-based CMOS circuits. According to the proposed design procedures, it is shown that the results have excellent agreements with those of HSPICE simulation.

  • This paper deals with an active gate drive (AGD) technolo밍T for high power IGBTs. It is based on an optimal c combination of several requirements necessmy for good switching performance under hard switching conditions, The s scheme specifically combines together the slow drive requirements for low noise and switching stress and the fast driver requirements for high speed switching and low switching energy loss The gate drive can also effectively dampen oscillations during low cunent turnlongrightarrowon transient in the IGBT, This paper looks at the conflicting requirements of the c conventional gate dlive circuit design and the experimental results show that the proposed threelongleftarrowstage active gate dlive t technique can be an effective solution.

  • It is essential to estimate an effective inductance in a ground plane of muliti-layer IC package system in order to determine the simultaneous switching noise of the package. A new method to estimate the effective ground inductance in multi-layer IC package is presented. With the estimated ground plane inductance values, maximum switching noise variations according to the number of simultaneously switching drivers are investigated by developing a new SSN model. These results are verified by performing HSPICE simulation with the 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology.

Power Noise Suppression Methods Using Bead with Spiral Resonator (비드와 나선형 공진기를 이용한 전원 노이즈 저감 방안 연구)

  • In this paper, to the aim of wideband SSN(Simultaneous Switching Noise) suppression characteristic, investigation of spiral resonator are used in conjunction with bead which is commonly used for noise suppression method. Bead works effectively to suppress the power noise up to the first harmonic of fundamental frequency, 0.8 GHz, and spiral resonator suppress noise well in the frequency range of SRF(Self Resonance Frequency) which is inversely proportional to the length of spiral. Thus, when bead used in conjunction with a spiral the noise suppression characteristic is determined by the one of higher impedance element of the two in the frequency range and achieves more broadband filtering characteristic. The case for using 22 nH bead turns out 4.8, 2.0, 0, and, 0.6 dB, and the case for using 22 nH bead in conjunction with 3-turns spiral achieves more wideband characteristic of 9.5, 8.3, 6.1, and 9.9 dB power noise suppression performances at the first, second, third, and fourth harmonics, respectively. The peak-to-peak voltage levels decrease from 76 mV to 56 mV using 22 nH bead, and the level decrease rapidly to 34 mV when using in conjunction with bead and 3-turn spiral. Thus more wideband SSN suppression characteristic can be achieved using bead with spiral.

  • 본 논문은 DC 배전시스템 내에서 발생할 수 있는 직렬 DC 아크 고장을 검출하기 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 직렬 DC 아크 고장은 동일 전위의 도선 또는 접속점의 노화 등으로 인해 발생하며, 아크 고장 에너지의 크기에 따라 수초 이내에 화재 사고를 유발할 수 있기 때문에 정확한 고장 검출을 통한 빠른 제거가 필요하다. 스위칭 전력변환 장치에서 발생하는 노이즈 성분에 의한 검출 알고리즘의 오동작 현상을 제거하기 위해 시간 영역에서의 전류 변화와 주파수 영역에서의 전류 크기 차이를 동시에 이용하여 직렬 DC 아크 고장 발생여부를 검출하게 된다. 제안 알고리즘은 5kW급 용량의 380V 저전압 DC 배전 시스템을 대상으로 검증하였다.

  • 전력 변환 장치에서 전자기파 장해를 막기위한 EMI 필터는 큰 부피를 차지하고 있기 때문에 이를 줄이는 것이 전력 변환장치의 제작 비용뿐 아니라 크기도 줄일 수 있어 전력 변환밀도를 높이는 유용한 방법이 된다. 기존에는 전력 변환 장치측면에서 스프레드 스팩트럼 및 소프트 스위칭을 구현하는 방법, 능동형 EMI 필터를 사용하는 방법 등이 제안되어 왔다. 하지만 공진형 컨버터의 경우 동작주파수를 흔드는 스프레드 스펙트럼을 사용하면 전압이득이 크게 영향을 받아 출력 전압의 제어 성능이 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 공진형 컨버터에서 스프레드 스펙트럼을 구현하여 EMI 노이즈를 줄이는 동시에 원하는 출력 전압 제어 성능을 확보하기 위한 공진 탱크와 스프레드 스펙트럼 기법의 디자인 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 디자인 방법의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 실험적으로 출력 전압제어 성능과 EMI 감소분을 보이고자 한다.

  • A new SSN(Simultaneous Switching Noise) model is presented, which can afford to investigate SSN due to integrated circuit package. It is shown that previous SSN models are not accurate enough to be practical since they do not take decoupling capacitor into account. In this paper, a new SSN model including the decoupling capacitor is developed. It is verified that the model has excellent agreement(within $5\%$ error) with HSPICE simulation which employs TSMC 0.18um CMOS process technology.

  • In this paper, a mushroom typed electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure to be inserted in the printed circuit board (PCB) inner layer in order to stabilize the PCB power line is proposed for global-navigation satellite service (GNSS). In designing the proposed EBG structure, the target stop-bandwidth was designed from 1.55GHz to 1.81GHz including GNSS and mobile communication-related frequency bandwidth. In this bandwidth, the insertion loss(S21) was observed below about -40dB. From the simulation results, it is expected that the stabilization of power delivery network (PDN) structure in the PCB circuit design should be improved and the effective correspondence to EMI will be helpful.

Design Study for Power Integrity in Mobile Devices (모바일 기기의 전원 무결성을 위한 설계 연구)

  • Recently, mobile devices have evolved into small computers with various functions according to user requirements. Careful attention must be paid to the design of the power supply network for the stable operation of the application processor (AP), the wireless communication modem, the high performance camera, and the various interfaces of the mobile device to implement various functions of the mobile device. In this paper, we analyzed and verified the method of optimizing the design parameters such as the position, capacity, and number of decoupling capacitors to meet the target impedance required by the driver IC chip to ensure the stability of the power supply network of mobile devices that should be designed as wiring type due to mounting density limitation. The proposed wired power supply network design method can be applied to various applications including high-speed signal transmission line in addition to mobile applications.
