Independent variables that affect the intention to implement were set as attitudes, subjective norms, teacher efficacy, and perceived controllability. A questionnaire survey of 218 teacher librarians was conducted. As a result of the study, there was a difference in teacher librarian's intention to implement collaborative instruction in school library according to the age, the size of school and previous experience. Attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived controllability affected the intention to implement collaborative instruction. Teacher efficacy did not affect teacher librarian's intention to implement collaborative instruction in school library. The results of the study were interpreted as a mixed method by using open-ended questions. Based on the results, implication was proposed to expand collaborative instruction in school library.

  • This study aimed to examine how prospective mathematics teachers (PMTs) perceive collaborative problem-posing (CPP) as a method to cultivate students' creativity and character in mathematics education. This is to propose the introduction of CPP at the stage of preparatory math teacher education as one of the ways to reinforce the creativity and character education capacity of PMT), and to attempt to be an opportunity to actively utilize CPP in math teaching-learning in the school field for the education of students' creativity and character. To achieve this objective, I designed PMTs taking the 'Educational Theories for Teaching Mathematics' course, required in the second year of university, to experience CPP tasks. Data were collected through questionnaires or interviews over three years on how PMTs recognized the CPP tasks as a tool to cultivate students' creativity and character in secondary schools. The results of the study are as follows. First, PMTs recognized regardless of their CPP experience that CPP might have a positive impact on improving students' ability to devise various ideas and that it positively influences students' attitudes toward building interpersonal relationships, including teamwork, respect, and consideration. Second, the experience of PMTs participating in the CPP made them more positively aware that CPP is effective in improving students' ability to elaborate on ideas. Third, the PMTs' experience of participating in CPP led to a more positive perception of the impact of CPP on the students' abilities and attitudes, namely, the students' ability to elaborate on ideas and their inner attitudes toward individuals, including honesty, fairness, and responsibility, and the attitude of students regarding logically presenting their opinions and making rational decisions. Finally, if there are downsides to the offline environment, an online environment may be more beneficial.

  • A school library is an institution that supports the school's educational objectives through various educational activities based on information resources, and teachers' perception is essential to connect resources and users. However, most studies have been conducted based on the self-perception of teacher librarians. This study aims to understand the effect of teachers' experience of library programs and cooperative classes with the school library on their perception of the school library roles and librarian teachers' professionalism. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 78 teachers at eight national and public high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and the results were statistically analyzed using factor analysis and regression. As a result, it was found that the teachers' experiences affect their perception of the school library's roles, especially informational, educational, and cultural roles. Also, the teachers' experiences affect their perception of librarian teachers' educational support and library expertise. Based on the results, considerations in school library programs and cooperative classes were suggested to improve teachers' perception of the school library roles and librarian teachers' professionalism.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for implementing library collaborative instruction (LCI) through investigating the effects of high school teachers' perceptions and experiences of school libraries on the recognition of LCI. To accomplish it, a questrionnaire survey of 198 teachers in 14 high schools in Seoul was conducted. As a result, teachers' perceptions of school libraries and school library experience had significant effects on the their willingness to implement LCI, which consisted of educational effect(EE), necessity and implementation plan(IP). In short, teachers' perception of school libraries influenced most variables in EE and did not influence necessity. All independent variables had significant effects on IP. This can be interpreted as that teachers recognize the need of LCI, but the perception of EE is influenced by conveying tool for the knowledge of LCI, such as education, promotion, and experience.

  • This study investigated mentor teachers' mentoring types and how the types of mentoring changed throughout the collaborative mentoring program for beginning science teachers who had difficulties in teaching practice. One-on-one mentoring meetings were audio-taped and transcribed for analysis. The result of the study showed that mentors took various roles such as Observer, Critical friend, Provider of feedback, Instructor, Role model, Evaluator, Counselor, and Equal partner. However, if mentoring did not bring about a change in the perception of a science instruction of a mentee teacher, there was no positive change in the teaching of the mentee teacher. Therefore, mentor teacher must have enough time to concretely discuss about mentee teachers' perception of a science instruction, mentoring method, etc. with mentee teacher before mentoring.

  • This study conducted a systematic review of mathematics teacher learning communities, especially the characteristics of teacher collaboration in community activities. Our review includes 14 research papers published in national academic journals indexed in KCI and 24 research papers in international academic journals indexed in SSCI from 2003 to 2019. Results show that the literature varied in research design, research topics, and patterns relating to teacher collaboration. While both international and national papers report teacher community activities concerning the organization, management, and participation, there were different levels of involvement, visions, and activities across the communities of practice. For example, research in national journals has presented teacher community as professional development while papers in international journals have focused on documenting teacher community becoming a reflective community of practice. This study contributes to understanding the interplay of context, conflicting epistemic culture, and professional agency in fostering collaboration in teacher communities. This paper also discusses relevant research methods to investigate mathematics teacher communities and insights into the policy and practice of mathematics teacher education.
