  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing conflict transition through the conflict transition process experienced by college graduates with early careers. The participants of this study were in-depth interviews with a total of 8 young people aged 25-34 who graduated from college and found their common subjects in all cases. As a result, the topics such as 'lack of recognition and compensation', 'unfairness of supervisor', 'characteristics of job (interdependence, autonomy)' were derived. 'Lack of recognition and compensation' brought about a sense of skepticism about the idea that even though they worked hard, they could not be recognized. And it caused a conflict transition. When the participants felt the 'unfairness of the supervisor', the task conflicts were further amplified and it transfer to relationship conflict. Among the characteristics of 'job characteristics', when highly interdependent occupations were carried out, conflict transition was shown and conflict levels were high. On the other hand, the work environment with job autonomy showed job satisfaction and did not show conflict transition. This study has an academic significance in that it revealed the types of conflicts and conflict transfer factors experienced in early career status of college graduates. In addition, this research have the practical implications to improves the participants' understanding of the conflict transfer through actual scene in the workplace.

  • This paper investigates the effectiveness of flight operation between airplane maintenance engineers and pilots who work together. The developed model is to identify the relationship between the attitudes of airplane maintenance engineers and pilots and the effectiveness of flight operation. The results indicate that the shared values and balanced power between airplane maintenance engineers and pilots are positively related with trust and job satisfaction, but conflict is negatively related. Further, trust and job satisfaction positively affect the effectiveness of flight operation. These findings suggest that the improvements of the relationships between airplane maintenance engineers and pilots need more efforts to ensure the aviation safety and efficient flights.

Since effective management of IS personnel is important issue for the IS related researchers and practitioners since their turnover rate has been known to be high and skilled personnel have been in short supply. • Recently in the health service the globalization and opening their market to foreigners are realized in Korea. So, it becomes necessary for the health service institutes to execute their management to focus on service quality to satisfy their customers. We examined the customer orientation of the individual health professional rather than the market orientation concept based on the health institute. For the market orientation of the health institute should require the individual health professional worked there. The hypotheses for the effect of the role conflict, ambiguity, and job satisfaction of the health professionals to their customer orientation were established based on the literature review and previous researches and tested to the 250 health professionals such as health technician, nurse, radiologist, and management clerk in D hospital located in Busan, in summer 2008. First, the hypothesis 'The role conflict between the individual health professionals might effect to the customer orientation' was rejected. Second, the hypothesis 'The role ambiguity of the individual health professional might effect to the customer orientation' was accepted. Third, the hypothesis 'The satisfaction of the individual health professional might effect to the customer orientation' was rejected. and the multiple regression analysis was taken with the dependent variables as each construct of customer orientation-responsiveness, empathy, tangibility, and reliability, and independent variables as role conflict, role ambiguity, and job satisfaction. With these analysis, we found also the role ambiguity effected to the customer orientation.

  • This study examined the relationships among work-family role conflicts(WFC, FWC), work distress(WDIS), and life satisfaction(LS) for female workers using child daycare center in workplace. From the data of 137 female workers, it showed statistically significant results that FWC on WDIS and WDIS on WFC were positive. It also demonstrated the degree of WFC was higher, the LS level was lower. The results revealed not only WDIS fully mediated between FWC and LS, but also WFC partially mediated the relationship between WIDS and LS. Comparing to the previous studies that failed to tell the directions of work-family role conflicts on LS, this study distinguished the bi-directional work-family role conflicts in searching for causal relationships among WFC, FWC, WDIS, and LS. This study recommended further studies for comparing female workers using child daycare center in workplace or not.
