Public support services and civilian nursing services for the elderly are expected to expand in Korea. In this case, voice recognition technology can be used variously for the elderly who are not familiar with the media interface. To this end, our researchers visited Japan and examined the achievements obtained by voice recognition technology in the elderly care. Especially, when caregivers write reports, they have greatly reduced their working hours by replacing the handwritten reports with ones using voice recognition technology. This method can be easily implemented in Korea. In addition, the social cost of the elderly support can be gradually reduced through the development of a robot equipped with voice recognition technology. Consequently, we realize that when voice recognition technology is combined with artificial intelligence programs of various emotion recognition functions and various policy possibilities as well.

  • In this paper, we propose a system to monitor the condition of elderly people who are uncomfortable by using smart-phone and biometric sensor at any time and for care-givers to provide with the best medical service anytime and anywhere. The proposed system monitors the status of the elderly through various bionic sensors installed in the hospital ward based on the Arduino system and not only provides the physiological and medical services required by the elderly, but also informs the guardian so that he can cope with the emergency. In conclusion, this paper suggests that a reading light used by elderly people can operate as a home server with a biosensor using Arduino and Android applications (Apps.), and the smart-phone of care-givers is configured as a remote management and a emergency call system. Therefore, this study suggests important ways to improve the satisfaction of medical service for the both elderly people and care-givers of chronic diseases in the future.

  • The people, who can't deal with urine and feces by themselves because they can't recognize it, deal with urine and feces with help of protector (Or nurse). For the case of urine and feces, disease of ulcerated flesh of hip like unpleasant feeling, pressure sore, humid tetter due to wetness of diaper can be prevented by changing diaper instantly. However, those people can't be possible to express their opinion, so they can't express their opinion on urine and feces or endure sense of shame. So there is a problem which can't check presence of urine and feces instantly. Accordingly, in order to solve this problem, qualitative improvement of nursing service can be generated by developing u-Care product which instantly let know urine and feces to protector (Or nurse) by perceiving automatically, and benefit of welfare on social dependent class like low income old people and solitude old people can be increased by reducing social welfare expense with increment of nursing expense.

The participants were 170 nurses working in integrated nursing care units of three general hospitals located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Burnout was significantly different according to turnover intention, job satisfaction, health status. Burnout showed a positive correlation with compassion fatigue and a negative correlation with compassion satisfaction and relation oriented culture. Regression analysis revealed that compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction, relation oriented culture and age were significant variables affecting the burnout, and the lower the age, the higher the burnout. Therefore, strategies to decrease compassion fatigue and to enhance compassion satisfaction and positive aspects of relation oriented culture for lower age nurses group are needed.

The subjects include total 185 nurses that consisted of 93 nurses at the comprehensive nursing care service ward and 92 at the General Ward. Results of this study are as follows; The study analyzed correlations among the job stress, job satisfaction, emotional labor, and turnover intention of nurses at the comprehensive nursing care service and general wards and found that both the groups showed significant positive correlations between job stress and emotional labor, between job stress and turnover intention, and between emotional labor and turnover intention, which indicates that higher job stress led to higher emotional labor and that higher job stress and emotional labor led to higher turnover intention. These findings raise a need to increase the manpower standard, offer proper rewards, and improve the work environment and treatment for nurses, who play the pivotal roles at the hospital organization, to solve their increased job stress and emotional labor issues and ultimately ensure the successful expansion of the comprehensive nursing care service system. There should be multifaceted efforts to reduce the turnover of skilled nurses that are capable of providing quality nursing service.
