This study investigated 15 science teachers' perception and practice on free semester and science assessment. We analyzed frequencies of teacher choice for closed questions and used constant comparative method for teacher description and individual interview. Most teachers determined a low ranking for changes in assessment methods and mentioned a lack of objectivity on free semester assessment, unsystematic free semester assessment, and more importance on student activity and interest in science instruction. Most teachers understood process-based assessment as a direction of free semester assessment and teachers mentioned positive aspects for students or teacher difficulties dependent on their perception on process-based assessment. Half of the teachers failed to implement student self-assessment and student peer-assessment due to subjectivity and complexity. Some teachers did not provide feedbacks to students due to a lack of time and did not use certain assessment methods due to a lack of knowledge of the assessment. Teachers who did not have an experience of discussions in a teacher learning community mentioned reasons regarding a small number of the same grade teachers and inactive attitude of colleagues. Teachers who did not participate in professional development programs mentioned a lack of teacher understanding of free semester, participation of the teacher in charge, and teacher choice of participation as reasons.

Sochi Heo Ryeon (1808 ~ 1893), who was born in Jindo in the late Joseon Dynasty, is a master of three classes, caligography, painting.It is a representative painter who is called the founder of the Honam Paintings. He learned Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism from choui and learned the basics of painting.He became a student of Kim Chung Hee as an introduction of choui. Since then, I have correctly understood the painting aesthetic that realizes the painting by the paintings and paintings of chusa. And he succeeded it in the art world of Honam. His life and artistic features are the wandering that lasted over 70, many work activities, and details the records habit of details of "Sochisillok". Sochi's paintings aimed at Namjong painting, expressing the simple and clear beauty of the free brush and the landscape painting of ye-hwang style. In addition, the peony was painted with bizarre rocks, expressing the lively beauty by changing the brush to be called 'Heo-peony'. And it fulfilled the desire for riches and honors and the taste of Sunbee at the same time, and it became a representative material of 'Unlimsanbang' after being passed on to the house. His naturalized style of painting and painting aesthetic have been influential to the art world in modern Korea until now, forming a painter 's vein for 200 years over 5 generations.
This study examined teachers' difficulties that they encountered free semester science assessment and their problem solutions. Fifteen science teachers who had experiences of free semester teaching and assessment were selected by convenience sampling in this study. The participant teachers mentioned difficulties of accurate scoring in student self/peer assessment and suggested solutions of providing studetns with detailed assessment criteria and opportunities to practice assessment. The participant teachers mentioned a lack of objective assessment criteria for affective domain and suggested solutions of providing criteria prior to assessment and developing assessment framework. The participant teachers mentioned a lack of assessment tools and references for perforamnce assesement. The participant teachers mentioned difficulties of a large teacherstudent ratio for providng feedbacks to students and suggested solutions of decreasing teacher-student ratio and teaching load. The participant teachers mentioned difficulties of identifying student characteristics for assessment reporting and suggested solutions of decreaing teacher work load. The participant teachers mentioned a lack of teacher understanding of process based assessment and inactive attitude to performance assessment and suggested solutions of professional learning community and improving teacher perceptions on performance assessment. The participant teachers mentioned difficulties of a large teacher-student ratio and a lack of time for implementing assessment methods that they learned from professional development programs. With both teacher self-efforts and systematic support, these problems would be solved and success of free semester assessment would be achieved.

This study is a descriptive research to examine the relationship between critical thinking disposition, clinical performance ability, and self-concept of nursing profession according to degree of self-leadership among nursing college students. The data were collected from 165 nursing students in 3rd & 4th grade using self-report questionnaire and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Multiple Regression. Self-leadership according to general characteristics showed significant differences according to grade, academic achievement, motivation, and major satisfaction. Self-leadership was found to have a positive correlation with critical thinking disposition, clinical performance ability, and self-concept of nursing professional. Analysis of the effects of general characteristics affecting sief-leadership, critical thinking disposition, nursing proFessional selF-concept and clinical performance on selF-leadership showed that they were explained by 49.9%, critical thinking disposition was the most important factor. This suggests that nursing students' self-leadership can be improved effectively by promoting critical thinking disposition. Also in reality, there are many difficulties such as the problems in the system of the majors, but it is necessary to operate a continuous education program to strengthen the self-leadership for the nursing college students by seeking various methods.
The purpose of this study was to identify how patients with chronic kidney disease understand informed consent and related factors for clinical trials. Data from a paper-based survey was collected from July 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018. The subjects for this study were 85 adult patients with chronic kidney disease who were participating in clinical trials. Surveys were conducted by a tool modified from QuIC as designated by Joffe in 2001. The QuIC consists of two parts: objective and subjective cognition. These tools were modified for this study. The average score for the objective understanding (OU) of informed consent for clinical trials was 69.56; the average score for the subjective understanding (SU) of informed consent for clinical trials was 3.28. It was found that health literacy predicted OU (F=27.709, p<.001) while SU was predicted by additional information (F=-3.095, p<.003), question (F=13.603, p<.001), and informed consent (F=-4.833, p<.001). In conclusion, the results of this study indicate that the understanding of informed consent for clinical trials among patients with chronic kidney disease is relatively low. Accordingly, alternative methods that consider each patient's health literacy levels and related factors need to be considered in order to improve their understanding of informed consents during the clinical trial process.

In ornamental crops, the color and shape of flowers are one of the important traits. Generally, flower colors are determined by accumulating pigments such as carotenoids, flavonoids, and betalains. Among them, flavonoids are responsible for broad ranges of colors. Chrysanthemums are one of the most popular ornamental crops in the world, and there have been many efforts to change their flower color. In chrysanthemum flowers, cyanidin-based anthocyanin confers pink or red color, whereas terpenoid-based carotenoids are mainly responsible for yellow and green colors. However, blue colored chrysanthemums do not occur in nature. To date, there have been attempts to obtain blue or violet-colored chrysanthemum flowers through the introduction of a novel gene for accumulating delphinidin-based anthocyanins, while other studies have reported changing endogenous metabolites through the reconstruction of flavonoid biosynthesis. Since various transcription factors are involved in the regulation of flavonoid biosynthesis, it is important to understand not only the structural genes, but also the transcription factors required for the modification of flavonoid-based flower color. Therefore, in this paper, we describe the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway and its regulation, and review previous studies on the change in flower color through modification of flavonoid biosynthesis. This effort could be an important milestone in successfully achieving the modification of chrysanthemum flower color by means of plant biotechnology.

The purpose of this study was to survey the knowledge and practice about preventive behavior for urinary tract infection in caregivers, and ultimately to provide the basic information in terms of urinary tract infection prevention. Participants in this study were caregivers who working at the 7 long-term care facilities in J-city of South Korea. Total 198 were participated in this study. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and scheffe test were performed using SPSS Windows for 21.0 program. The correct answer rate for the knowledge about preventive behavior of urinary tract infection was 79%. The practice of urinary tract infection preventive behavior were significantly differed by the number of nurses, the number of elderly, working time and the experience, perceived importancy, necessity with education for urinary tract infection. The preventive behavior for urinary tract infection in caregivers should be supervised by health care providers. Moreover, it should be needed to educate and apply the basic education program to improve the caregivers' knowledge and practice for preventive behavior in urinary tract infection by healthcare providers. Continuous infection monitor and education by healthcare providers can be contributed the quality of elderly caring services and development of monitoring system for urinary tract infection in long-term care facilities.

This study proposes an efficient management direction for Korean construction accident cases through a deep learning-based text data classification model. A deep learning model was developed, which categorizes five categories of construction accidents: fall, electric shock, flying object, collapse, and narrowness, which are representative accident types of KOSHA. After initial model tests, the classification accuracy of fall disasters was relatively high, while other types were classified as fall disasters. Through these results, it was analyzed that 1) specific accident-causing behavior, 2) similar sentence structure, and 3) complex accidents corresponding to multiple types affect the results. Two accuracy improvement experiments were then conducted: 1) reclassification, 2) elimination. As a result, the classification performance improved with 185.7% when eliminating complex accidents. Through this, the multicollinearity of complex accidents, including the contents of multiple accident types, was resolved. In conclusion, this study suggests the necessity to independently manage complex accidents while preparing a system to describe the situation of future accidents in detail.
This study investigated a total of 529 integrated science teachers' implementation and changes to apply the curriculum-instruction-assessment. Data was collected through online survey on scientific competencies and skills, teaching-learning and assessment methods, changes of teacher's preparation, topics/materials, teaching-learning, and assessment to apply the curriculum-instruction-assessment as teaching integrated science. The results of the study were as follows: first, in the integrated science class, teachers implemented more on scientific communication and scientific inquiry among scientific core competencies, and analysis and interpretation of data collection and communication among scientific skills. Teachers often taught in lectures and used multiple choice items and short essay for evaluation. Teacher groups with less than 10 years of teaching experience appeared to be less active in teaching scientific core competencies and skills than those with more than 10 years. Second, Teachers have increased more time and efforts to search and to organize various materials in addition to textbooks, and try to integrated concepts in various fields to prepare learning topics and textbooks. Third, even though teachers made little change in implementing the process-oriented assessment, they used instructional strategies to increase student engagement in the integrated science class, restructured the instruction to provide immediate feedback after conducting the assessment. It is necessary to build a system that ensures fairness and credibility of evaluation while respecting the autonomy and professionalism of teachers.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing the transfer of learning for nursing students in clinical practice. This study is a descriptive survey research conducted with 113 nursing students. Self-directed learning, motivation to transfer, and transfer of learning were measured. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, independent t-test, and ANOVA. The transfer of learning were significantly different according to the interpersonal relationship (t=10.43, p=.002), the satisfaction of nursing major (t=3.81, p=.006), satisfaction of nursing skills laboratory (t=4.61, p=.004). Transfer of learning had a correlation with self-directed learning, motivation (r=.46, p=<.001), and motivation to transfer (r=.60, p=<.001). In addition, motivation to transfer, the satisfaction of nursing skills laboratory, and learning evaluation were significant predictors of transfer of learning. Finally, in order to increase the transfer of learning for nursing students, nursing instructors need to encourage motivation to transfer, and to apply educational strategies that increase self-directed learning, as well as the satisfaction of the nursing skills laboratory.
