Automobile markets are so fierce in the world market that every major manufacturer assure the buyer of the car by give a provocative warranty plan for their cars. For instance Hyundai motor company offer 10 years and 100,000 miles of warranty whichever comes first. But in order for this effort to be successful every critical component such as window switch has to be proven to be reliable in an adverse environment. Therefore, in this article reliability assessment criteria for window switch are established in terms of basic performance test, environment test and life test.

Many domestic manufacturers make reflectors for Lamps of BLU(back light units). However, color change and parting occur as a result of diverse usage environment. Therefore, many of the manufacturers are reluctant in R&D investment of reflectors for Lamps of BLU. Hence, in this article reliability assessment criteria for reflector for lamp of BLU are established in terms of performance test, environment test and life test.

A strut mount is an important part of vehicles which reduces the vibration and the impact transmitted from the wheels while supporting a shock absorber and a coil spring. Rubber compounding, shape design, and process design technologies are important components to improve the functionality of a strut mount such as durability, static, dynamic, and torsional characteristics. Among them the rubber compounding technology is the key technology which dominates the quality of a strut mount. In this study a strut mount with high reliability has been developed by adopting new rubber compounding and improving the shape of the inner plate and the isolator. Through the tests for prototypes it has been shown that the durability has been improved more than 2.5 times, from about 60,000 cycles to about 160,000 cycles.

In the paper, we consider two-dimensional warranty policy with failure times and repair times. The failure times are considered within the warranty period and the repair times are considered within the repair time limit. Under the renewable warranty policy and non-renewable warranty policy, we consider the number of warranty services in the censored area by warranty period and repair time limit to conduct warranty cost analysis. We investigate the field data to check their dependency and implement our proposed approaches to conduct warranty cost analysis using the parametric methods. Numerical examples are discussed to demonstrate the applicability of the methodologies and results based on the proposed approach in the paper.

Six Sigma has been disseminated into a variety of areas. It is believed that a stepwise understanding of Six Sigma's DMAIC is required for successes of unit projects. Meanwhile, infra-structure factors, such as leadership, organization, personnel management, educational system, etc., are also important to safely implant the Six Sigma into the whole enterprise and to thoroughly create the culture of innovation and enterprise. Careful analysis of those elements makes it possible to draw common connection between Project Management and the Six Sigma. This study drives the success elements for the successful adoption of the Six Sigma in the Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., of which management was evaluated as one of the tops based on the results of 2007 Management Innovation Assessment and arranges the similarity of like this factor and Enterprise Project Management. The results of this study are expected to provide a useful guideline for the adoption of the Six Sigma in whole company level.

Boiler efficiency has a direct impact on energy consumptions, which results in lower cost of operations and services. Usually high efficiency boilers are regarded as boilers with an efficiency of greater than 90%. However, it is likely that normal boilers are running at significantly lower efficiencies than this. This paper presents a process of developing a highly efficient energy consumption boiler. We adopt direct heat method while normal boilers are designed as indirect heat method. The submerged combustion method is considered to design for very high efficient boiler.

BLDC(Brushless Direct Current) motor is a powerful device to control the automotive electronic components used in green cars such as HEV/EVs(Hybrid Electric Vehicle and Electric Vehicle). This study is to propose reliability test items derived through pretesting, suitability analysis abd classification of previous BLDC motor tests. For environmental stress tests are determined by analysing environmental conditions and relevant failure mechanisms induced by climate loads, mechanical loads, chemical loads, etc. ATL and HALT are also considered for life testing and screening.
