  • According to this study, we can make the radiation check meter which have not supply because of high cost and import barrier and lengthen its life by means of repairing of radiation bomb and equipment. We can make better medical service. In my study, I used the photodiod, photoelectron, among semiconductor detectors which have a excellent detect capacity and are low cost and small size. I set up this equipment in June 1, 2002, used 640 mA remote operative fluorography equipment, which make the grade as capacity test. I used the standard measuring instrument which took proofs from a agency, now it was using in measuring agency. The comparative measuring instrument used in same condition. I took the standard which was gauged with a connecting measuring instrument. Using a existing unconnected measuring instrument, I compared the accuracy with new unconnected one. As a result, three score are within the standard. For the detailed analysis, I took the average of percentage average error. So standard instrument was -0.02, comparable was -0.22, and new one was -0.17. New one took a closer measured value with standard than comparable one. In more study, I think to take more accurate value. I expect that my study will be a base of measuring instrument, with low cost, supply of this instrument increase, I expect to decrease radiation bomb and maintain, repair and manager better.

  • Amitrole in environment, difficult to be analyzed by GC or GC/MS due to high polarity and low volatility, was analyzed by LC/ESI/MS in the study. Maximum peak intensity of amitrole in LC/MS/ESI mass spectrum is m/z 85 of protonated molecular ion $(M+H)^+$ with 30V of cone voltage at SIR mode. It was confirmed that ratios between main ion of amitrole, 85 of protonated molecular ion, and m/z 58 fragmented ion of amitrole, had increased corresponding with the increment of cone voltage from 20V to 70V. The isotope molecular weight of amitrole was $86([M+H])^+$ at LC/MS analysis and the mass spectrum ratio between 85 mass and 86 mass was not different by the change of concentration but similar to theoretical ratio(less than 10% standard deviation). The linearity of standard calibration curve under same condition with sample treatment method had $y=1.09354e^6X+26947.2$ and $r^2=0.99$. Recovery rates in water and soil samples were 77.64~83.44% and 71.11~79.44%, respectively. Reliability of the analysis was performed with 5 repeated measurements at each level of standard concentration and the result showed that relative standard deviation was less than 10%; therefore, the extraction and analysis method in the study suggested that it would be reliable to measure amitrole in water and soil media.

  • Objective: To evaluate the reliability of CT measurements of muscle quantity and quality using variable CT parameters. Materials and Methods: A phantom, simulating the L2-4 vertebral levels, was used for this study. CT images were repeatedly acquired with modulation of tube voltage, tube current, slice thickness, and the image reconstruction algorithm. Reference standard muscle compartments were obtained from the reference maps of the phantom. Cross-sectional area based on the Hounsfield unit (HU) thresholds of muscle and its components, and the mean density of the reference standard muscle compartment, were used to measure the muscle quantity and quality using different CT protocols. Signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) were calculated in the images acquired with different settings. Results: The skeletal muscle area (threshold, -29 to 150 HU) was constant, regardless of the protocol, occupying at least 91.7% of the reference standard muscle compartment. Conversely, normal attenuation muscle area (30-150 HU) was not constant in the different protocols, varying between 59.7% and 81.7% of the reference standard muscle compartment. The mean density was lower than the target density stated by the manufacturer (45 HU) in all cases (range, 39.0-44.9 HU). The SNR decreased with low tube voltage, low tube current, and in sections with thin slices, whereas it increased when the iterative reconstruction algorithm was used. Conclusion: Measurement of muscle quantity using HU threshold was reliable, regardless of the CT protocol used. Conversely, the measurement of muscle quality using the mean density and narrow HU thresholds were inconsistent and inaccurate across different CT protocols. Therefore, further studies are warranted in future to determine the optimal CT protocols for reliable measurements of muscle quality.

  • We have designed, fabricated and tested an integrated planar DC SQUID which incorporates input coil and mofulation coil in thin film structure. The SQUID uses Nb /Al-oxide /Nb Josephson junctions and Pd shunt resistors, and the SQUID loop incorporates two rings connected in series forming figure '8' structure and has the advantage of a negligibly small circulating current for the spatially homogeneous noise fields. The devices were fabricated using photolithographic technique, RF magnetron sputtering, anodic oxidation for insulation and lift-off process. The preliminary test of the fabricated SQUID at 4.2 K showed that the flux-voltage characteristics were smooth enough to adopt standard readout system, and the voltage noise was too small to be measured by direct method and so the white noise was thought to be less than $10^{-4}\;{\phi}_o/\;\sqrt{H_z}$.

  • IEC 60364-4-44 provides rules for the protection against the effects of conducted and radiated disturbances on electrical installations. Especially this standards deals with the protection of low voltage facility against the ground fault in the high voltage side of power distribution system. Many countries defines the regulations on the use and production of electrical facilities based on their own power system and technical references which are considered to be suitable for themselves. The background of circuit of IEC 60364 is based on the ungrounded system as most of European countries adopt. However, since domestic ground system is multi-grounding system different from European system, it is necessary to evaluate or prove the effect of the IEC 60364 for introducing and applying it to the domestic grounding system as a Korean standard. This paper presents the establishment of test field to get background data to introduce the IEC 60364 and to evaluate the standard is applicable or not to domestic rule for the protection against ground fault through the related test.

  • In this paper, a novel architecture of programmable divider with fifty percent duty cycle output and programmable dividing number has been proposed. Through HSPICE simulation, a 900MHz frequency synthesizer with proposed frequency divider has designed in a standard 0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS technology. To verify the operation of proposed frequency divider, a chip had been fabricated using 0.65$\mu\textrm{m}$ 2-poly, 3-metal standard CMOS processing and experimental result shows that the proposed frequency divider works well. The designed voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) has a center frequency of 900MHz, a tuning range of ${\pm}$10%, and a gain of 154MHz/V. The simulated frequency synthesizer performance has a settling time of 1.5${\mu}\textrm{s}$, a frequency range from 820MHz to 1GHz and power consumption of 70mW at 2.5V power supply voltage.

  • In this paper, we present a new charge pump circuit feasible for the implementation with standard twin-well CMOS process technology. The proposed charge pump employs PMOS-switching dual charge-transfer paths and a simple two-phase clock. Since charge transfer switches are fully turned on during each half of clock cycle, they transfer charges completely from the present stage to the next stage without suffering threshold voltage drop. During one clock cycle, the pump transfers charges twice through two pumping paths which are operating alternately. The performance comparison by simulations and measurements demonstrates that the proposed charge pump exhibits the higher output voltage, the larger output current and a better power efficiency over the traditional twin-well charge pumps.

  • In this paper, we proposed a novel OTP unit bit of CMOS gate oxide antifuse using the standard CMOS process without additional process. The proposed OTP unit bit is composed of 3 transistors including an NMOS gate oxide antifuse and a sense amplifier of inverter type. The layout area of the proposed OTP unit bit is $22{\mu}m^2$ similar to a conventional OTP unit bit. The programming time of the proposed OTP unit bit is 3.6msec that is improved than that of the conventional OTP unit bit because it doesn't use high voltage blocking elements such as high voltage blocking switch transistor and resistor. And the OTP array with the proposed OTP unit bit doesn't need sense amplifier and bias generation circuit that are used in a conventional OTP array because sense amplifier of inverter type is included to the proposed OTP unit bit.

  • Schmitt Trigger logic is a gate level design method to have hysteresis characteristics to improve noise immunity in digital circuits. Dynamic Threshold voltage MOS(DTMOS) Schmitt trigger circuits can improve noise immunity without adding additional transistors but by controlling substrate bias. The performance of DTMOS Schmitt trigger logic has not been verified yet in standard CMOS process through measurement. In this paper, DTMOS Schmitt trigger logic was implemented and verified using Magna $0.18{\mu}m$ MPW process. DTMOS Schmitt trigger buffer, inverter, NAND, NOR and simple digital logic circuits were made for our verification. Hysteresis characteristics, power consumption, and delay were measured and compared with common CMOS logic gates. EM Immunity enhancement was verified through Direct Power Injection(DPI) noise immunity test method. DTMOS Schmitt trigger logics fabricated using CMOS process showed a significantly improved EM Immunity in 10 M~1 GHz frequency range.

  • Purpose: The relationship between computed tomography (CT) number and electron density (ED) has been investigated in previous studies. However, the role of these measures for guiding cancer treatment remains unclear. Methods: The CT number was plotted against ED for different imaging protocols. The CT number was imported into ED tables for the Pinnacle treatment planning system (TPS) and was used to determine the effect on dose calculations. Conversion tables for radiation dose calculations were generated and subsequently monitored using a dosimeter to determine the effect of different CT scanning protocols and treatment sites. These tables were used to retrospectively recalculate the radiation therapy plans for 41 patients after an incorrect scanning protocol was inadvertently used. The gamma index was further used to assess the dose distribution, percentage dose difference (DD), and distance-to-agreement (DTA). Results: For densities <1.1 g/cm3, the standard deviation of the CT number was ±0.6% and the greatest variation was noted for brain protocol conditions. For densities >1.1 g/cm3, the standard deviation of the CT number was ±21.2% and the greatest variation occurred for the tube voltage and head and neck (H&N) protocol conditions. These findings suggest that the factors most affecting the CT number are the tube voltage and treatment site (brain and H&N). Gamma index analyses for the 41 retrospective clinical cases, as well as brain metastases and H&N tumors, showed gamma passing rates >90% and <90% for the passing criterion of 2%/2 and 1%/1 mm, respectively. Conclusions: The CT protocol should be carefully decided for TPS. The correct protocol should be used for the corresponding TPS based on the treatment site because this especially affects the dose distribution for brain metastases and H&N tumor recognition. Such steps could help reduce systematic errors.
