  • In this paper, we deal with the notion of a v-semi-slant submersion from an almost Hermitian manifold onto a Riemannian manifold. We investigate the integrability of distributions, the geometry of foliations, and a decomposition theorem. Given such a map with totally umbilical fibers, we have a condition for the fibers of the map to be minimal. We also obtain an inequality of a proper v-semi-slant submersion in terms of squared mean curvature, scalar curvature, and a v-semi-slant angle. Moreover, we give some examples of such maps and some open problems.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to give a characterization of a totally geodesic Kaehler submanifold M of a Kaehler manifold $\tilde{M}$ by observing the extrinsic shape of particular circles of the submanifold M.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study invariant submanifolds of a Lorentzian para Kenmotsu manifold. We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for an invariant submanifold of a Lorentzian para Kenmotsu manifold to be totally geodesic. Finally, a non-trivial example is built in order to verify our main results.

  • The object of the present paper is to deduce some important results on generic submanifolds and also generic product of LP-Sasakian manifolds with concurrent vector fields. Also, we provide a necessary and sufficient condition for which the invariant distribution D and anti-invariant distribution D of M are Einstein. Also, we deduce an interesting necessary and sufficient condition for submanifolds of LP-Sasakian manifolds to be totally umbilical submanifolds. Especially we deal with the generic submanifolds admitting a Ricci soliton in LP-Sasakian manifolds endowed with concurrent vector fields.

  • Let C be a closed convex set in ${\mathbb{S}}^m$ or ${\mathbb{H}}^m$. Assume that ${\Sigma}$ is an n-dimensional compact minimal submanifold outside C such that ${\Sigma}$ is orthogonal to ${\partial}C$ along ${\partial}{\Sigma}{\cap}{\partial}C$ and ${\partial}{\Sigma}$ lies on a geodesic sphere centered at a fixed point $p{\in}{\partial}{\Sigma}{\cap}{\partial}C$ and that r is the distance in ${\mathbb{S}}^m$ or ${\mathbb{H}}^m$ from p. We make use of a modified volume $M_p({\Sigma})$ of ${\Sigma}$ and obtain a sharp relative isoperimetric inequality $$\frac{1}{2}n^n{\omega}_nM_p({\Sigma})^{n-1}{\leq}Vol({\partial}{\Sigma}{\sim}{\partial}C)^n$$, where ${\omega}_n$ is the volume of a unit ball in ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ Equality holds if and only if ${\Sigma}$ is a totally geodesic half ball centered at p.

  • In the present paper, we discuss the rigidity phenomenon of closed minimal submanifolds in a locally symmetric Riemannian manifold with pinched sectional curvature. We show that if the sectional curvature of the submanifold is no less than an explicitly given constant, then either the submanifold is totally geodesic, or the ambient space is a sphere and the submanifold is isometric to a product of two spheres or the Veronese surface in $S^4$.

  • In this paper, we study the curvature of locally symmetric or semi-symmetric half lightlike submanifolds M of an indefinite Kenmotsu manifold $\bar{M}$, whose structure vector field is tangent to M. After that, we study the existence of the totally geodesic screen distribution of half lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kenmotsu manifolds with parallel co-screen distribution subject to the conditions: (1) M is locally symmetric, or (2) the lightlike transversal connection is flat.

  • We prove that a Lorentzian concircular structure (LCS)-manifold does not admit any null hypersurface which is tangential or transversal to its characteristic vector field. Due to the above, we focus on its ascreen null hypersurfaces and show that such hypersurfaces admit a symmetric Ricci tensor. Furthermore, we prove that there are no totally geodesic ascreen null hypersurfaces of a conformally flat (LCS)-manifold.

  • A characterization of geodesic spheres in the simply connected space forms in terms of the ratio of the Gauss-Kronecker curvature and the (usual) mean curvature is given: An immersion of n dimensional compact oriented manifold without boundary into the n + 1 dimensional Euclidean space, hyperbolic space or open half sphere is a totally umbilicimmersion if the mean curvature $H_1$ does not vanish and the ratio $H_n$/$H_1$ of the Gauss-Kronecker curvature $H_n$ and $H_1$ is constant.
