  • Recently several authors have extended the Gamma function, Beta function, the hypergeometric function, and the confluent hypergeometric function by using their integral representations and provided many interesting properties of their extended functions. Here we aim at giving further extensions of the abovementioned extended functions and investigating various formulas for the further extended functions in a systematic manner. Moreover, our extension of the Beta function is shown to be applied to Statistics and also our extensions find some connections with other special functions and polynomials such as Laguerre polynomials, Macdonald and Whittaker functions.

  • In 1965, Bhatt and Pandey obtained the Watson's theorem for double series by using Dioxon's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$. The aim of this paper is to derive twenty three results for double series closely related to the Watson's theorem for double series obtained by Bhatt and Pandey. The results are derived with the help of twenty three summation formulas closely related to the Dison's theorem on the sum of a $_3F_2$ obtained in earlier work by Lavoie, Grondin, Rathie and Arora.

  • The aim of this paper is to establish the well-known and very useful classical Saalsch$\ddot{u}$tz's theorem for the series $_3F_2$(1) by following a different method. In addition to this, two summation formulas closely related to the Saalsch$\ddot{u}$tz's theorem have also been obtained. The results established in this paper are further utilized to show how one can obtain certain known and useful hypergeometric identities for the series $_3F_2$(1) and $_4F_3(1)$ already available in the literature.

  • The probability distribution of hold-in time and that of the time to reject false lock are investigated for the tracking procedure in spread spectrum communication systems. These are helpful in deciding dwell time and threshold level of correlatoi circuits. The probability distributions are derived by series expansion of generating function for discrete probability function and summation of the coefficients for corresponding terms. And the formulas described by general system parameters are obtained.

  • Many different families of infinite series were recently observed to be summable in closed forms by means of certain operators of fractional calculus(that is, calculus of integrals and derivatives of any arbitrary real or complex order). In this sequel to some of these recent investigations, the authors present yet another instance of applications of certain fractional calculus operators. Alternative derivations without using these fractional calculus operators are shown to lead naturally a family of analogous infinite sums involving hypergeometric functions.

  • We construct a general bi-basic inverse series relation which provides extension to several q-polynomials including the Askey-Wilson polynomials and the q-Racah polynomials. We introduce a general class of polynomials suggested by this general inverse pair which would unify certain polynomials such as the q-extended Jacobi polynomials and q-Konhauser polynomials. We then emphasize on applications of the general inverse pair and obtain the generating function relations, summation formulas involving the associated polynomials and derive the p-deformation of some of the q-analogues of Riordan's classes of inverse series relations. We also illustrate the companion matrix corresponding to the general class of polynomials; this is followed by a chart showing the reducibility of the extended p-deformed Askey-Wilson polynomials as well as the extended p-deformed q-Racah polynomials.

  • In this paper, we obtain an analytical solution for an unsolved definite integral RC (m, n) from a 1915 paper of Srinivasa Ramanujan. We obtain our solution using the hypergeometric approach and an infinite series decomposition identity. Also, we give some generalizations of Ramanujan's integral RC (m, n) defined in terms of the ordinary hypergeometric function 2F3 with suitable convergence conditions. Moreover as applications of our result we obtain nine new infinite summation formulas associated with the hypergeometric functions 0F1, 1F2 and 2F3.

  • In the theory of hypergeometric functions of one or several variables, a remarkable amount of mathematicians's concern has been given to develop their transformation formulas and summation identities. Here we aim at presenting explicit expressions (in a single form) of the following weighted Appell's function $F_1$: $$(1+2x)^{-a}(1+2z)^{-b}F_1\;\(c,\;a,\;b;\;2c+j;\;\frac{4x}{1+2x},\;\frac{4z}{1+2z}\)\;(j=0,\;{\pm}1,\;{\ldots},\;{\pm}5)$$ in terms of Exton's triple hypergeometric $X_9$. The results are derived with the help of generalizations of Kummer's second theorem very recently provided by Kim et al. A large number of very interesting special cases including Exton's result are also given.

  • In the theory of hypergeometric functions of one or several variables, a remarkable amount of mathematicians's concern has been given to develop their transformation formulas and summation identities. Here we aim at generalizing the following transformation formula for the Exton's triple hypergeometric series $X_{12}$ and $X_{17}$: $$(1+2z)^{-b}X_{17}\;\left(a,b,c_3;\;c_1,c_2,2c_3;\;x,{\frac{y}{1+2z}},{\frac{4z}{1+2z}}\right)\\{\hfill{53}}=X_{12}\;\left(a,b;\;c_1,c_2,c_3+{\frac{1}{2}};\;x,y,z^2\right).$$ The results are derived with the help of two general hypergeometric identities for the terminating $_2F_1(2)$ series which were very recently obtained by Kim et al. Four interesting results closely related to the Exton's transformation formula are also chosen, among ten, to be derived as special illustrative cases of our main findings. The results easily obtained in this paper are simple and (potentially) useful.

  • Motivated by several generalizations of the Pochhammer symbol and their associated families of hypergeometric functions and hypergeometric polynomials, by choosing to use a very generalized Pochhammer symbol, we aim to introduce certain extensions of the generalized Lauricella function F(n)A and the Humbert's confluent hypergeometric function Ψ(n) of n variables with, as their respective particular cases, the second Appell hypergeometric function F2 and the generalized Humbert's confluent hypergeometric functions Ψ2 and investigate their several properties including, for example, various integral representations, finite summation formulas with an s-fold sum and integral representations involving the Laguerre polynomials, the incomplete gamma functions, and the Bessel and modified Bessel functions. Also, pertinent links between the major identities discussed in this article and different (existing or novel) findings are revealed.
