  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the functionality and lightfastness of the natural pigments according to the type of Seokganju used as Dancheong. The commercially available red iron-oxide-based natural pigments that are called Seokganju and Daija manufactured by traditional methods in Korea and Japan were selected. The analysis of the constituent minerals and constituents of 8 kinds of collected Seokganju showed that most of them contained hematite. There are two types of Seokganju according to the $Fe_2O_3$ contents. The type of Seokganju can be characterized not only using the main component but also from the burn-out processing. The chromaticity results for Seokganju with a high $Fe_2O_3$ concentration indicate dark red or grayish brown, while those for Seokganju with a low $Fe_2O_3$ concentration indicate yellowish red or yellowish brown. Samples were prepared by mixing with a glue solution and functional properties were evaluated based on the opacity and spreadability. Coated samples were used in the lightfastness test. The spreadability and opacity of the pigments were measured differently depending on the main component. Most Seokganju samples a showed slight color change until $9,000kJ/m^2$ but rapid color changes were detected after $18,000kJ/m^2$. In particular, burnt Seokganju showed superior lightfastness.

  • This study was intended to develop a value-added and functional sauce with addition of Chungkukjang powder. This study was conducted as the following procedure. 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% of Chungkukjang powder was respectively added to make different Bechamel sauces. And then, physical testing (moisture, color value, viscosity, salinity, spreadability and pH) and sensory testing (a quantitative descriptive analysis and an acceptance test) were performed. After that, the correlation between the physical testing and the sensory testing was investigated to choose an optimal mixture ratio. The study results are presented as follows. As the addition percentage of Chungkukjang powder increased, a-value, b-value, salinity, spreadability, and pH significantly increased (p<0.001), but moisture content, L-value and viscosity decreased. The QDA result indicated that, regarding color intensity(5.89), Chungkukjang flavor(5.32) and Chungkukjang taste(6.26), the 40% addition group had the highest value, and that, regarding thickness(6.42), milk flavor(5.00), oily taste(5.21), mouth feel(5.32), the control group had the highest value. As a result, as the addition percentage of Chungkukjang powder increased, color intensity, Chungkukjang flavor, and Chungkukjang taste increased, but thickness, milk flavor, oily taste, and mouth feel decreased. According to the result of acceptance test, the 20% addition group had the highest value in terms of appearance, flavor, taste, glossy and overall acceptance. As shown earlier, it is considered that proper addition of Chungkukjang powder positively affects the overall acceptance, and that the 20% addition of Chungkukjang powder is most suitable to improve the sensory and physical quality-characteristics of Bechamel sauce.

Quality characteristics and sensory test of Bulgogi sauces added with jujube concentrate (30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%) were evaluated in comparison with control sauce containing xanthan gum as a thickening agent. Moisture content of Bulgogi sauce added with 30% jujube concentrate was the highest (74.59%). As content of jujube concentrate increased, moisture contents in Bulgogi sauces significantly decreased. Sugar content of control sauce ($30.82^{\circ}Bx$), was lowest among the sauces. As content of jujube concentrate increased, Sugar content of sauces significantly increased ($33.00{\sim}34.38^{\circ}Bx$). Salinity (%) was highest in control sauce (1.38%), and there was no difference in salinity among the sauces depending on the amount of jujube concentrate. Viscosity was highest in sauce added with 50% jujube concentrate (43.33 cP) and lowest in sauce with 30% jujube concentrate (13.20 cP). As content of jujube concentrate increased, viscosity tended to increase significantly. Spreadability was highest in sauce added with 30% jujube concentrate (8.88 cm). As the amount of jujube concentrate increased, spreadability of sauce tended to decrease significantly. Color value was different according to the contents of jujube concentrate in sauces. L-, a-, and b-values of control sauce were highest at 40.19, 1.5, and 24.57, respectively. The results of the sensory test for Bulgogi sauce showed that overall preference was significantly highest in sauce added with 35% jujube concentrate. Moreover, sauce added with 35% jujube concentrate was preferred the most in terms of appearance, taste, and fluidity. Meanwhile, the results of the differentiation test showed a significant difference in color intensity, jujube flavor and taste, sweet taste, and salty taste. However, no significant difference was observed in fluidity. The results of the preference test for Bulgogi seasoned with sauces added with jujube concentrate showed that overall preference and flavor, taste, and texture preference were highest in Bulgogi seasoned with sauce added with 35% jujube concentrate. However, no significant difference was observed in preference towards appearance among the samples.

  • In this study, the method of evaluation of moisturizing ability of cosmetics using specimens was studied as an alternative method of clinical tests. Cosmetic spreadability, surface drying, and moisture loss rate of four specimens (Japanese cake (Maru mochi), Garaetteok, wheat flour, and agar) were evaluated. Also, the water loss rate of the specimens and the transepidermal waterloss were analyzed for 10 kinds of lip make-up products (5 kinds of lipstick, 3 kinds of lip balm, 2 kinds of lip gloss). The moisture loss rate (moisture evaporation sensitivity) of the agar specimen was highest in the order of agar> Garaetteok> Japanese cake> wheat flour. Agar specimens are the most suitable in terms of spreadability, surface crack, and raw material supply. Containers for the preparation of agar specimens are suitable for plastic materials with low heat transfer, which can produce convex, smooth surface specimens. In the evaluation of moisturizing ability of lip makeup products, there was a strong correlation between the water loss rate and the transepidermal waterloss rate measured with agar specimens. These results show that the proposed method can be used as one of the useful alternative test methods.

  • Effect of activators in flux on the printability and wettability of a solder paste was evaluated in this study. The activators in this study were dicarboxylic acids, which were oxalic acid (n = 0), malonic acid (n = 1), succinic acid (n = 2), glutaric acid (n = 3), adipic acid (n = 4), and pimelic acid (n = 5). When the solder pastes were observed with a SMT scope, solder with glutaric acid showed clean and shiny surface when it was melted. Slump ratio of the solder pastes was low when the carbon numbers of the dicarboxylic acid were 1-3. Spreadability was high when the carbon number was over 2. Zero cross time of wetting balance test was under 1 sec when the carbon number was over 3. When activator was oxalic acid or malonic acid, zero cross time was over 1 sec and maximum wetting force was low. Fluxes with the oxalic acid and malonic acid showed decomposition at the temperature close to melting point. Among the dicarboxylic acids, glutaric acid provided excellent slump, spreadability, and wettability.

  • This study intends to analyze the storytelling strategy of EBS's YouTube channel , which has been creating a remarkable cultural phenomenon since April 2019, and to examine the potential for its transition to transmedia franchise. Based on Henry Jenkins'seven principles of transmedia storytelling, shows satisfactory relevance in all but 'multiplicity'out of the 10 capacities consisting of the principles. In particular, was found excellent in terms of core capacities such as 'spreadability', 'immersion', 'worldbuilding', 'continuity', 'drillability' and 'performance'. In addition, critical discourse analysis(CDA) in sociocultural practice dimension of the keywords of the related news articles has discovered that is strongly linked to the following five values: 'social integration', 'resistance against authoritarianism', 'self-dignity and reasonable individualism', 'gender neutrality' and 'ecologism', indicating the reason why the work has been able to resonate so extraordinarily with participants across all generations. By answering the two chosen research questions, this study has proved that has high potential to be successful in evolving into transmedia franchise, while keeping building a new realm of edutainment storytelling by cleverly exploiting EBS's unique identity as a public education broadcaster. is viewed as an exceptional property capable of advancing transmedia storytelling in the local market; thus, productive arguments and contemplation over its evolution in storytelling needs to continue so that it can maintain a long-lasting positive influence.
