  • In this paper, we consider the simple redundant structures with the function of hardware based active/standby control. The system includes two switch modules. The switch module is connected to a data bus, but only the active switch module has control of the data bus. The standby unit takes over the function of the active unit when the active unit failure or mode command are asserted. And this paper illustrate the high-speed router system and the overall redundant system architecture. The proposed redundant architecture for 80G Router system is verified and implemented with experiment.

  • This paper presents a method of the optimum design for rotating shaft of centrifugal pump. That is, the object is to optimize the system in stability at the operating speed, unbalance response in the vicinity of the rotor critical speed, leakage flow of the seals. The objective function is composed of these three elements and is minimized by changing seal cleareance, diamoters, and lengths. A typical double suction centrifugal pump is analyzed and its objective function is presented. Then the optimum dimensions of seals are obtained, and vibration characteristics at both initial and optimum conditions are investigated.

  • A H$\_$.inf./ contro theory was applied to motor speed control of two-mass system to get controller which acts effectively with control object including uncertainties. The H$\_$.inf./ control problem was composed and solved. After that, numerical simulation were executed to confirm ability of the controller which compared with PI controller.

  • We estimated various neuron functions to construct of engineering neurons, which are the combination of sigmoid, linear, sine, quadric, double/single bended, soft max/minimum functions. These combinations are estimated by the property on the potential surface between the learning points, calculation speed, and learning convergence; because the surface depends on the inference ability of a neuron system; and speed and convergence are depend on the efficiency on the points of engineering applications.   • CRC function has been built into the high-speed semiconductor memory device in order to increase the reliability of data for high-speed operation. Also, DBI function is adopted to improve of data transmission speed. Conventional CRC(ATM-8 HEC code) method has a significant amounts of area-overhead(~XOR 700 gates), and processing time(6 stage XOR) is large. Therefore it leads to a considerable burden on the timing margin at the time of reading and writing of the low power memory devices for CRC calculations. In this paper, we propose a CRC method for low cost and high speed memory, which was improved 92% for area-overhead. For low-cost implementation of the CRC scheme by the DBI function it was supplemented by data bit error detection rate. And analyzing the error detection rate were compared with conventional CRC method.

  • Due to its inherent feature of high-resolution satellite, there is strong need in some specific area to minimize the processing time required to get a standard image on hand from downlink signal acquisition. However, in general image processing system, it takes considerable time to get image data up to certain level from raw data acquisition because the huge amount of data is dealt sequentially as input data. This paper introduces the high-speed image processing system which generates the image data only for the area selected by user. To achieve the high speed performance, this system includes Quick Look Image display function with sampling, ROI selection function, Image Line Index function, and Distributed processing function. The developed RPS was applied to KOMPSAT-2 320Mbps downlink channel and its effectiveness was successfully demonstrated. This feature to provide the image product very quickly is expected to promote the application of high resolution satellite image.

  • This paper proposes a frequency transfer function synthesis of a later compensated PID controller for an approximated low order model. The proposed method identifies the parameter vector of PID controller from a linear system that is formed by rearranging a loop frequency transfer function synthesis including the filter compensated PID controller obtained from the given frequency response bounds. And an example for the turbine speed control system of Chungju hydropower plant is given to illustrate the feasibilities of suggested schemes.

  • This paper is a study of testing on-board signalling equipment in advanced high speed rail at the maximum speed of 400km/h. The on-board signalling equipment in advanced high speed rail provides operating information to the driver when operating at ATC, ATS, and ATP sections, and maintains safety from driver oversight, signalling equipment malfunction, natural disasters and so on. Since the testing train performance of advanced high speed rail at 400km/h must include the function test of on-board signalling equipment, this thesis focuses on the function test of on-board signalling equipment and analyze the necessity of the test at the maximum speed. Finally, it is suggested to change some infrastructure and to use specific test methods to test the train performance at the maximum speed in high speed line ATC section.

  • To improve time delay produced in computation of trigonometric function by software method, the function generator was designed to compute the sine function with ROMs. Since the computation speed of trigonometric function can be improved by this ROM, it will be used in various parts required to scientific calculation-radar, FFT and signal processing etc.

  • For the application of factory automation, a 3-axis numerical control system with personal computer and KM3701 function generator LSI chip, which has liner, circular, parabolic, logarithmic, and exponential interpolations, is developed. The developed system also has 2 control function to stabilize tooling speed and 1/1000mm step sizes.
