The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among Clothing Satisfaction, Social approval, Psychological dependence, and Social security-insecurity and to determine the difference of clothing behaviors by the demographic variables such as age, socioeconomics status, education, religion, and material status. Clothing Satisfaction was measured by Rim's Questionnaire(1974) moditide and supplemented for this study. For the measurement of Social approval and Psychological dependence, the Clothing Interest Inventory developed by Creekmore (1971) was adapted for this story. The measurement for the Social security-insecurity was adapted from Lapitsky's (1961) Social Security Inventory. Data were collected from 322 purposively selected elderly women over sixty dwelling in Seoul by means of interviews. For statistical analysis, frequency distribution, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficients were used. The results were as follows: 1. There were significant relationships among Clothing satisfaction, Social approval, and Psychological dependence. Negative significant relaionships were found between Clothing satisfaction and Social approval and between Clothing satisfaction and Psychological dependence. 2. There was negative significant relationship between Social security-insecurity and Clothing satisfaction, while positive significant relationships were found between Social security-insecurity and Social approval, and between Social security- insecurity and Psychological dependence. 3. There was significant difference in Clothing satisfaction according to socioeconomic status and education. 4. There was significant difference in Social approval according to socioeconomic statusand education. 5. There was significant difference in Psychological dependence according to education and religion.
The objective of this study examined the effect of job characteristics on the job satisfaction of social worker employed by 1st social agency, hospitals. Data were collected by 240 social workers. Based on Hackman and Oldham's(1975) theory of core job characteristics, this study was to defined other element of job characteristics, in social worker's duties, focused on moderating effect of self-confidence for job satisfaction, and compared to social worker's job characteristics between 1st social agency and hospitals. The results of this study were summarized as follows; first, job autonomy, feedback among Hackman and Oldham's 5 core job characteristics showed positive influence on job satisfaction. The other job characteristics found out significantly effected social worker's job satisfaction than Hackman and Oldham's 5 core job characteristics. Second, identities of social worker's job, cognition of professional level, necessity, and self-confidence variables were found to have a statistically significant strong relationship with job satisfaction of 1st setting social worker. The other side, necessity, self-confidence, sex, social worker's academic career variables positive influenced medical social worker's job satisfaction. Third, the moderating variables which had significant difference among social worker's working conditions. 1st setting social worker's self-confidence partial moderated the effect of job characteristics on social worker's job satisfaction. But, medical social worker's self-confidence not moderated the effect of job characteristics on job satisfaction. As a result, Social worker's job satisfaction depended on job characteristics and self-confidence. Therefore, to assure the job satisfaction, redesign for social worker's job characteristics, reinforced their self-confidence. Staff-development education program, supportive environment, supervision program is strongly recommended.
The purposes of this study were to find the correlation of social maladaptation, depression, ego resilience and daily life satisfaction, and to explore the mediating role of ego resilience between social maladaptation, depression and daily life satisfaction. The subject of the survey was 184 intermarried Korean men. The data were analyzed with frequency, Pearson's correlation and structural equation modeling by SPSS and AMOS. Instruments were social maladapatation and depression of Shin(2001)'s Mental Health Scale, Block and Kremen(1996)'s Ego Resilience Scale, and Bradburn(1969)'s Structure of Psychological well-being, and Olson and Barnes(1982)' Quality of Life. The major findings were as follows: Social maladapataion and depression were negatively correlated with ego resilience and daily life satisfaction. Ego resilience was positively correlated with daily life satisfaction. Ego resilience mediated the effects of social maladaptation, depression and daily life satisfaction. Social maladaptation and depression influenced ego resilience. Ego resilience influenced positively daily life satisfaction. In conclusion, it is important to intervene intermarried Korean men's daily life satisfaction through special education program and counseling in order to build ego resilience.
Objective: This study examined the effects of social support and resilience on life satisfaction of child care teachers. Methods: This study was conducted by sampling 162 child care teachers who participated in job training courses in the Gyeongsangbuk-do region. Three kinds of variables, which included social support, resilience, and life satisfaction were measured. The collected data were analyzed using PASW 18.0 program for windows. Results: First, social support, resilience, and life satisfaction of the child care teachers were generally above normal. The resilience subscale showed the highest score in 'affirmative', followed by 'interpersonal ability', 'self-control ability'. And the 'support of colleagues' was higher than 'support of superior' in the social support's subscale. Next, there were no significant differences in social support by child care teachers' background, but there were significant differences in resilience and life satisfaction of child care teachers' according to their working center types and academic levels. Second, life satisfaction was positively correlated with social support, and resilience. The 'affirmative', 'support of superior' variables were factors that predicted life satisfaction. Conclusion/Implications: We suggested ways to increase the life satisfaction of child care teachers through the 'affirmative' and 'support of superior' variables.
The relationships of social support and parent-satisfaction to the mothers' parenting behaviors were examined in a sample of 235 mothers who have preschool-aged children. Mothers completed three kinds of questionnaires such as the perception of the social support, the parent-satisfaction comprised of five subscales, general satisfaction parent-child relationship, support of husband, parent role conflict, and support of child, and the parenting behaviors comprised of two subscales, warmth and control. Social support and parent-satisfaction were found to have significant influence on mothers' warmth. The more social support they perceived and the more parent-satisfaction they had, the warmer they were. But these variables were not significantly related to the mothers' control except two subscales of parent-satisfaction they had, the warmer they were. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to examine the associations between affective commitment, social support, and life satisfaction among child care teachers. Methods: One hundred fifty-four child care teachers in the metropolitan area of Seoul completed a questionnaire on affective commitment, social support, and life satisfaction. Descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, hierarchical multiple regression analyses using the bootstrapping method were conducted. Results: The results showed that affective commitment predicted increased life satisfaction. The results also revealed significant moderation effects of social support on the relationship between affective commitment and life satisfaction. Further analyses revealed significant moderation effects of support from directors and colleagues on the relationship. Conclusion/Implications: The findings highlight the importance of affective commitment in enhancing life satisfaction among child care teachers. The positive association is more pronounced among child care teachers who perceive social support, highlighting the supportive roles of directors and colleagues in enhancing life satisfaction among child care teachers.
Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the relationships between job stress or social support and job satisfaction, and the function of social support, theoretically considered to mediate the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction. Methods: After obtaining informed consent from participants, data were collected from 122 taxi drivers. Gamma was used for testing of the first and second hypotheses. Partial Gamma was used to test the third hypothesis. Patterns of elaboration described by Babbie (1986) were selected for interpretation of the relationship among the three variable analyses. Results: First, a negative relationship was observed between job stress and job satisfaction (Gamma=-.543, p=.001) and a positive relationship was observed between social support and job satisfaction (Gamma=.741, p<.001). Second, when controlling for social support, the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction showed a decrease under conditions of both low and high social support. As for the mediating effect of social support, job stress was found to affect social support and social support was found to affect job satisfaction. Conclusion: The results showed that social support had a mediating effect between job stress and job satisfaction. Therefore, development and implementation of appropriate social support interventions is needed in order to reduce job stress and promote job satisfaction.
This study examined the effects of social support on the perceived life satisfaction of middle-aged wives. To better understand the effects of social support on the perceived life satisfaction of middle-aged wives this study considered the following four different types of social support: emotional material informational and companionshp support. In addition each type of social support from the following five sources-the family of origin network the family of husband network friends neighbors and social organization-were examined separately in relation to the perceived life satisfaction of middle-aged wives. The data for his study were collected in the winter of 1995 from 417 housewives in Pusam wholse youngest child has graduated from elementary schools. Analyses of these data proved that (1) contrary to the classical "middle-age cristis" theory the average level of the perceived life satisfaction of middle-aged wives is relatively high; (2) there is a strong positive correla ion between the global level of social support and the overall life satisfaction of middle-aged wives; (3) the family of origin network is the most important provider of social support to middle-aged wives; and (4) the effects of social support on the perceived life satisfaction of middle-aged wives differ across types and sources of support. Findings showed that emotional informational and companionship support from the family of origin network have significantly positive effects on the perceived life satisfaction of middle-aged wives. On he other hand the material support from the family of origin network proved to have little effect.le effect.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to identify correlation of spiritual well-being, social support, life satisfaction and depression in the community dwelling elderly, and to explore a possibility to apply the spiritual well-being, and social support as resources to promote welfare of the elderly. Methods: A structured questionnaire was used to obtain data from a convenience sample of 222 senior citizens, who visited social welfare centers in Gangwon-do from September to October, 2010. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression. Results: There were significant differences in spiritual well-being based on religion, satisfaction to religion, economic status, physical health, and life satisfaction. Social support was significantly different according to economic status, physical health, life satisfaction, and social gathering. The existential well-being, family support, and special support had a significant effect on life satisfaction, and demonstrated positive correlations with the well-being of the elderly. Conclusion: Spiritual well-being and social support have significant effects on depression and life satisfaction of senior citizens. Thus spiritual well-being and social support can be considered as important factors that improve the elderly's quality of life.
Many social commerce companies are being established and the market for social commerce is also developing quickly. In this study, the utilization, satisfaction, repurchase and recommendation intentions of social commerce consumption were studied, followed by an analysis of different factors that influence repurchase and recommendation intentions. The results of this study are as follows: first, the satisfaction of social commerce products was in the mid-range, with results being consistent across the range of social commerce companies. Secondly, there was a correlation between satisfaction associated with social commerce and repurchase and recommendation intention. Thirdly, there was a correlation between the level of satisfaction and demographic characteristics. Based on the research findings, suggestions are presented for improving consumer policy and education.
