  • This paper proposes a new histogram partition stretching and shrinking method for infrared image enhancement. The proposed method divides the histogram of an input image into three partitions according to its mean value and standard deviation. The method stretches both the dark partition and the bright partition of the histogram, while it shrinks the medium partition. As the result, both the dark part and the bright part of the image have more brightness levels. The proposed method is implemented using C language in an embedded Linux system for a high-speed real-time image processing. Experiments were conducted by using various infrared images. The results show that the proposed algorithm is successful for the infrared image enhancement.

  • Consider a p-variate normal distribution ($p-q{\geq}3$, q = rank($P_V$) with a projection matrix $P_V$). Using a simple property of noncentral chi square distribution, the generalized Bayes estimators dominating the James-Stein estimator shrinking towards projection vectors under quadratic loss are given based on the methods of Brown, Brewster and Zidek for estimating a normal variance. This result can be extended the cases where covariance matrix is completely unknown or ${\sum}={\sigma}^2I$ for an unknown scalar ${\sigma}^2$.

  • We present a method to reconstruct a canal surface from a point cloud (a set of unorganized points). A canal surface is defined as a swept surface of a moving sphere with varying radii. By using the shrinking and moving least-squares methods, we reduce a point cloud to a thin curve-like point set which can be approximated to the spine curve of a canal surface. The distance between a point in the thin point cloud and a corresponding point in the original point set represents the radius of the canal surface.

  • The purpose of this article is to study the Ricci solitons and Ricci almost solitons on para-Kenmotsu manifold. First, we prove that if a para-Kenmotsu metric represents a Ricci soliton with the soliton vector field V is contact, then it is Einstein and the soliton is shrinking. Next, we prove that if a ${\eta}$-Einstein para-Kenmotsu metric represents a Ricci soliton, then it is Einstein with constant scalar curvature and the soliton is shrinking. Further, we prove that if a para-Kenmotsu metric represents a gradient Ricci almost soliton, then it is ${\eta}$-Einstein. This result is also hold for Ricci almost soliton if the potential vector field V is pointwise collinear with the Reeb vector field ${\xi}$.

  • Two-dimensional stagnation point slip flow of a Casson fluid impinging normally on a flat linearly shrinking surface is considered. The modeled PDEs are changed into nonlinear ODEs through appropriate nonlinear transformations. The flow is assumed to be steady and incompressible, with external magnetic field acting on it. Similarity transformation is utilized to investigate the behavior of many parameters for heat and velocity distributions using truncation approach. The influence of buoyancy parameter, slip parameter, shrinking parameter, Casson fluid parameter on the heat profile. The effect of the magnetic parameter on the streamwise velocity profile is also investigated.

  • In this paper, the analytic solution has been found by using truncation approach. With the help of suitable substitution, different physical parameters are yielded in their non-dimensional form. The governing boundary layer partial differential equations are reduced to a set of ordinary ones by using appropriate similarity transformations. The velocity profile across the domain have also been taken into account. The effect normal velocity profiles buoyancy parameter, slip parameter, shrinking parameter, Casson fluid parameter on the heat profile. It is found that the normal velocity profiles rise with the buoyancy parameter and for the slip parameter. It is observed that the normal velocity profile decreases with the increase of shrinking parameter. The reverse behiour is found for the Casson fluid parameter. The results are numerically computed, analyzed and discussed. For the efficiency of present model, the results are compared with earlier investigations.

  • The CNTFET, which is attracting attention as a next-generation semiconductor device, can obtain ballistic or near-ballistic transport at a lower voltage than that of conventional MOSFETs by depositing CNTs between the source and drain of the device. In order to increase the performance of the CNTFET, a large number of CNTs must be deposited at a high density in the CNTFET. Thus, various manufacturing processes to increase the density of the CNTs have been developed. Recently, the Directional Shrinking Transfer Method was developed and showed that the current density of the CNTFET device could be increased up to 150 uA/um. So, this method enhances the possibility of implementing a CNTFET-based integrated circuit. In this paper, we will discuss how to evaluate the performance of the CNTFET device compared to a MOSFET at the circuit level when the CNTFET is fabricated by the Directional Shrinkage Transfer Method.

  • Hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage are generated essentially by the same hydration. Many researchers have studied the close relationship between hydration temperature and autogenous shrinkage but hardly any research has been undertaken to explain the specific numerical relation. In this study, early age properties of hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage of specimen whose section size was changed were analyzed, and relationship between hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage was investigated. In the results of the study, inner temperature and autogenous shrinkage increased as the section size increased. And rise and rise ratio of hydration temperature and autogenous shrinkage in hydration heating section and autogenous shrinking section are increased too. Temperature rise and autogenous shrinkage rise increased respectively, as hydration heating velocity and autogenous shrinking velocity increased. And autogenous shrinkage rise and autogenous shrinking velocity increased as hydration heating velocity increased.

  • Studied on the changes of physical properties according to frequency of washing of sample such as cotton, ramie, wool, cotton knit, T/C. The results are as follows :1. The tensile strength in cotton, wool, and T/C was not changed by 5 times washing but in cotten knit was increased because hang-down phenomenon. 2.The crease resistance of cellulose fiber was decreased by repeated washing. In the case of wool, That was decreased considerably because of decreasing of elasticity and increasing of density caused by shrinking after washing. 3.The abrasion strength of wool was increased with increase in frequency of washing because of thickness caused by shrinking. 4.By repeated washing, the pills was generated in all of the samples and quantity of pills was increased with increase in frequency of washing, the pills was generated in all of the samples and quantity of pills was increased with increased in frequency of washing. Specially, in the case of cotton knit and wool, the pilling was remarkable. 5.The physical properties of dry cleaned wool was superior than that of wet cleaned wool.
