This study has been performed to explore verbal and behavioral expression of sexual desires among male elderly residents who have been living in long tenn care facilities. There are three topics covered in this study; first, in what situations and how seriously do care workers encounter expression of sexual desires of the elderly residents? Second, what kind of negative consequences do they believe those sexual behaviors will lead to? Third, how can we implement defensive measures against the sexual behaviors? In this study, twenty three care workers working full time in five retirement and care facilities were asked about their experience and perception of the above study agendas, and answers of the qualitative interview were drawn as follow; first, the elderly residents apparently show a variety of sexual harassment and provoking behaviors such as sticking to specific women, physically touching and attacking, and induce obscenely activities against female residents, care workers, and volunteer visitors. Second, their sexual behaviors are often influenced by their isolated and abandoned emotionality as well as living situation in rural areas. Third, their sexual behaviors often critically affect care work plan and facility managements by severely discouraging female care givers and community supporters. Therefore in this study, suggestions and defensive measures were made as follows: first, education and counselling programs toward female workers and volunteers need to be developed, and the programs should cover psychological and behavioral mechanism of sexuality in later life. Second, self control plans need to be empowered toward the elderly residents; in the plans, the elderly residents shall be encouraged to evaluate primary cause and proper solutions of sexual behaviors of their peering residents. Third, combination of healthy housing and care facilities for frail elderly need to be integrated in a neighboring location, so that when residents and workers encounter extreme episodes of sexuality of healthy residents in a housing facility, the problematic sexual residents are partially transferred into a neighboring care facility and thereafter other residents and cafe givers are relieved from stressful contacts with the extremely sexual residents.
The chaperone practices is being applied to solve the problem of sexual harassment in clinics in medical institutions. Therefore, considering the characteristics of the radiation work and the application of the chaperone practices in the radiation work, this study is to analyze the requirements for the application of the chaperone practices and the impact that may occur on the job. From the end of 2021 to the beginning of 2022, a survey was conducted targeting radiologists in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, and about 52.9% of the surveys were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the demand for the application of the chaperone practices was higher among women than men, the younger the age, the higher the degree, and the lower the age. Also, as for the job impact of the application of the chaperone practices, the higher the demand, the greater the reduction in sexual harassment and credibility. In other words, the younger the age and the higher the education, the higher the need for the chaperone practices, but it is thought that it is necessary to supplement the policy for job security and Employment stability before applying it. Therefore, when considering the application of the chaperone practices to radiation work in the future, it is judged that it is necessary to sufficiently collect opinions in advance to guarantee the job in the relevant occupation.
We would like to suggest the guideline of use of materials of sexual education for adolescent in school by examining the status of use of materials and by evaluating the video materials frequently used. Survey was done by enquetes on status of use of materials of sexual education from school nurses in 190 primary, 44 middle and 50 high schools in Seoul, Kyonggi-do and Kangwon-do from August 1999 to February 2000. The frequently used 84 videotapes were evaluated on their contents. As for the status of use, 99.3% of subjected schools possessed the materials for sexual education. Decision of purchase was determined according to the review of contents (92.6%). Information about materials was received by the advertisement in newspapers or broadcasting (46.1%) or recommendation of peer teacher (32.4%). Videotape was most frequently used (64.1%) rather than books or CD. Teachers concerns on the materials were the educational content according to developmental stage of students (41.9%), content provoking interest (33.5%) and concrete guide for teacher (10.6%). As for the evaluation of the contents of videotapes, a subject of education was not described out of 46.6%. Videotape producer were mostly the Government-affiliated institutes or non-profit organizations (86.8%). The year of production was indicated from 41.7%. Running time range of 21-30 minutes was highest (55.9%). The price was marked in only one videotape. Subjects of contents were general sexual education (34.5%), sexual violence or sexual harassment (21.4%), pregnancy and contraception (14.2%) and AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases (8.3%) and dating and adolescent change (4. 8%), and etc (11.9 %). According to above results, we suggested that materials for sexual education should be completed with a description on the subjected group, summary of content, information on the tape producer, year of production, running time and sale price.

Background: School is a primary health education setting for adolescents and the continuous support should be provided to renew school health education curriculum correspondent to cultural changes in Korean society. Objectives: This study was conducted to identify the principals and teachers' health education needs for their students and to analyze their conceptual map for health education curriculum at school. Methods: The sample size of the preliminary study was 321 of the teachers in elementary, middle, and high school, and that of the main study was 355 middle school principals and teachers over the country. The self-administered mailing survey was conducted to collect the available health education topics in the preliminary study, to identify the factor structure of the health education topics and to analyze the conceptual properties on health education with exploratory factor analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis in SPSS 12.0. Results: A total of 21 health education topics were collected from the preliminary survey and 31 topics were, comprehensively, generated for the main survey. In exploratory factor analysis, seven factors were generated in 1.0 or greater Eigen value standard. The seven factors were 'life health promotion,' 'disease prevention and drug control,' 'bulling and aggression prevention,' 'injury and sexual harassment prevention,' human-efficacy and regulation,' 'health protection for adolescence,' and 'alcohol and tobacco control.' The educational need scores were the highest in 'human-efficacy and regulation' and 'injury and sexual harassment prevention.' The two-dimensional cooperates were generated for the 31 health education topics and the two dimensional properties which divided the conceptual space were 'health-safety' for one and 'public/environmental-individual/personal' for the other. That is, middle school principals and teachers primarily, understand the health education curriculum in the sense of 'health vs. safety' and 'public/environmental vs individual/personal.' Conclusions: Health education curriculum and textbook should be developed based on teachers' needs and conditions for health education in school fields. The field-based health education programs or textbook would make more possible problem-solving health education for youth in real school fields.
Introduction: Workplace violence (WPV) is a major occupational and health hazard for nurses. It affects nurses' physical and psychological well-being and impacts health service delivery. We aimed to assess the prevalence and describe the consequences of WPV experienced by nurses working in an emergency department in Kenya. Methods: We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study among emergency nurses at one of the largest tertiary hospitals in Kenya. We collected data using a structured questionnaire adapted from the 'WPV in the Health Sector, Country Case Studies Research Instruments' questionnaire. We described the prevalence and effects of WPV using frequencies and percentages. Results: Of the 82 participating nurses, 64.6% were female, 57.3% were married and 65.8% were college-educated (65.8%). Participants' mean age was 33.8 years (standard deviation: 6.8 years, range: 23-55). The overall lifetime prevalence of WPV was 81.7% (n = 67, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 71.6%-88.8%) and the 1-year prevalence was 73.2% (n = 63, 95% CI: 66.3-84.8%). The main WPV included verbal abuse, physical violence, and sexual harassment. Most incidents were perpetrated by patients and their relatives. No action was taken in 50% of the incidents, but 57.1% of physical violence incidents were reported to the hospital security and 28.6% to supervisors. Perpetrators of physical violence were verbally warned (42.9%) and reported to the hospital security (28.6%). Conclusion: Workplace violence is a significant problem affecting emergency nurses in Kenya. Hospitals should promote workplace safety with zero-tolerance to violence. Nurses should be sensitised on WPV to mitigate violence and supported when they experience WPV.

Entry of women into the higher positions or professions in the fields of entertainment and performing arts has been expanding gradually. Especially, women working in these fields in New York show a dynamic growth and development. As a result, women surviving in a male-dominated world have raised their voices for their human rights to live free from violence, sexuality, slavery, discrimination, etc.. In the entertainment and performing arts, women have been shouting their voices for a long time through the theme, performance process, and the shows. Their voices influenced politics, society, and culture as a whole. The 'MeToo' movement is the result of condensation from their voices. In other words, it is the result of women's voices against sexual harassment or assault in these fields. Starting in Hollywood, the 'MeToo' movement was rapidly spread out online and strongly supported by female leaders and activists in the world. It had a strong influence on the fields of theater and entertainment industry in Korea as well. By recognizing this phenomenon, the contents of this study suggest how and what to continuously increase the value of the 'MeToo' movement in Korea's entertainment industry.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in dating violence perception of dating violence perception of university students. As a research tool, CTS2 was used as a measure of dating violence, a measure developed by Kim(1999) was used, and a measure of dating violence by Jeong(2013) was used. Data analysis was performed using independent sample t-test and multi-variate analyses. The results are summarized as follows. First, female students showed higher differences in total violence against violence and psychological violence than boys, while boys showed higher physical violence than girls. Health majors were significantly higher in total dating violence and psychological violence than students in humanities and social sciences. There was no significant difference in dating violence offenses with or without sexual experience. Only psychological violence showed an interaction effect between gender and sex experience. Second, female students were significantly higher than male students with significant differences in recognition and sub-factors. Health majors were significantly higher in both date violence perception and lower factors than humanities and social sciences. Students without sexual experience perceived overall dating violence more than students with sexual, physical and cyber violence being significantly higher.
The study was initiated to identify the causes of physical and mental harm to workers and provide basic data. It is an analysis study using raw data from the 5th Working Environment Survey, and the study analyzed the impact of gender, verbal violence, insults, sexual harassment, sexual interest, and bullying on working environment satisfaction. Most of the victims' sexual harassment offenders were their coworkers (83.6 percent), and it was confirmed that women experienced more damage from bullying and sexual interest than men. Insult and verbal abuse have been identified as factors that reduce working environment satisfaction. Based on this study, we hope to improve productivity and work-life balance as well as improve workers' satisfaction with the working environment as a program that takes into account workers' influence factors.
This study aims to examine the system for gender rights in arts and cultural industry triggered by #Metoo movement and to suggest action plans to improve gender equality. Up until now, Korean government launched 'Pan-governmental Counter Plan', 'Recommendation of the Special Center for Investigating Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence in Arts and Cultural Industries' 'the Primary and Secondary Supplemental Measures to Eradicate Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence in the Arts and Cultural Sector by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Korea', and '2030 Cultural Vision'. Korean government has designed the system to protect gender rights using these proposals. Implemented policies can be grouped into 4 different categories; protecting victims, punishing abusers, implementing preventive measures, and reforming legal system. However, despite Korean government's multilateral efforts, continuous criticism aroused as policies failed to witness actual impacts in the industry. Given the fact that 2 years have passed since the launch of gender equality policy in cultural sector, this is the right time to discuss the current status and ways to improve it. For above reasons, research was conducted on documents including, but not limited to, government publications and an analysis of interviews with 9 major stakeholders of policy planning and implementation. During the study, interviews were analyzed using the qualitative research program MAXQDA. As a result, 5~10 problems were revealed in each category of the system. Furthermore, meaningful correlation has been found in improvement areas suggested by the interviewees. This connection implies that the policy for gender rights in arts and cultural industry shall be developed organically in order for the system to work.
The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygiene students on sexual harrassment in an effort to provide some information on the prevention of sexual harrassment. The subjects in this study were 738 dental hygiene students at colleges located in four different large regions. As for the concept of sexual harrassment, the students got 4.33 out of a possible five in that regard, which was a high score. But they got a relatively lower score of 3.42 in awareness of the causes of sexual harrassment. They got the highest score of 4.42 in physical sexual harrassment among different types of sexual harrassment. Regarding the offender of sexual harrassment, they got 2.81 out of a possible five, which was lowest among their scores in the items of sexual harrassment awareness. There were statistically significant differences in sexual harrassment awareness according to gender, age, grade and religion. The above-mentioned findings of the study illustrated that the dental hygiene students were well aware of sexual harrassment in general, but that the way they coped with it was quite passive. The development of educational programs on how to prevent sexual harrassment and cope with it is required to spread better awareness of sexual harrassment among college students and to encourage them to properly cope with it.
