500um급 8캐비티 사출금형설계 제작 및 성형기술 (Manufacturing and Molding Technology of $500{\mu}m$ 8Cavity Injection Molding System)

  • Recently, the need of thin-walled injection molding and enhancement of its productivity is greatly increased. In this study, we designed and manufactured a injection molding system, which can mold a part with the thickness of $500{\mu}m$ and 8 cavity. And processing technique for the multi-cavity injection molding system, which is capable of mass productivity on the plastic parts, was considered. The problems of unbalance/imbalance on the molding process for the multi-cavity mold were predicted by numerical analysis using plastic injection molding commercial code. In addition, controllable system of melt front filling was introduced for a balanced filling using the mold temperature sensor on injection mold. It was shown that balanced filling with the suggested injection molding system was possible for $500{\mu}m$ plastic parts with 8 cavity layout.

Smart Device Based Localization for Ship Block Logistics

  • In a ship block logistics application, acquisition of locations is required in order to identify location of the ship blocks. A Smart device equipped with a GPS sensor can be used as a mobile client for a ship block logistics application. However the precision of GPS components on a commercial smart device is not high enough. Therefore, using the GPS for localization may produce significant positioning errors in a ship block logistics system. This paper proposes a method to reduce errors in measuring locations using a smart device. Based on the knowledge of how the location information is used in a ship block logistics application, and the predictability of the client's moving line based on geographical layout of a shipyard area, our proposed technique enables a better prediction of the ship blocks location. Performance evaluation shows that the proposed technique can significantly reduce the positional error.

  • In this paper, we described the laboratory layout of the optical CT in connection with the measurement of large current for the GIS. The aim of this study is the development and application of optical CT based on Faraday effect. It was used He-Ne laser for light source (633nm) and was used PIN-Photodiode for light receiver. The laser source passes through optical fiber in single mode. We used the polarizer to polarize the light source and the beam splitter to divide the output light, and the optical fiber is connected for the measuring the angle polarized in the magnetic field.

  • Robot system development consists of several sub-tasks such as layout design, motion planing, and sensor programming etc. In general, on-line programming and debugging for such tasks demands burdensome time and labor costs, which motivates an off-line graphic simulation system. MSRS(Microsoft Robotics Studio) released in recent years is an appropriate tool for the graphic simulation system since it supports CCR(Concurrency and Coordination Runtime), DSS(Decentralized System Services), and dynamics simulation based on PhysX and graphic animation as well. In this paper, we developed an MSRS based network simulation system for quadruped walking robots, which controls virtual 3D graphic robots existing in remote side through internet.

  • The rate of fire in buildings is gradually increasing in these days and the damage of property are severely increasing. This study suggests a methodology that provides information of the emergency exits based on indoor location services. The methodology uses determination technology and the latest update of indoor map generation via the built-in sensors of smartphone. This paper enhances the accuracy of indoor localization, and also it is to study how to provide exact indoor layout for rescuing the workers in emergency, such as fires and natural disasters.

IoT 기반의 효율적인 스마트도서관 자원 관리 시스템 개발 (Development of efficient smart library resource management system based on IoT)

  • In this study, we constructed a system to operating and manage the resources of the Smart Library Reading Room automatically using the Internet of things. The persistent problem of smart library or unattended library is electric energy waste and efficient seat management. The electricity and seat layout management method of the existing library reading room is being treated as concentrated management in the central system. However, this approach results in wasting electricity and seats do not provide a fair opportunity for each user. In this study, IoT sensor was used to turn off electricity and empty seat for about 20 minutes, so that it could be marked as vacant and managed efficiently, so that opportunities for seats were evenly maintained. In the future, we will improve this and construct a model in the reading room of actual village library or school library, and analyze and reflect the result.

Sub-threshold 영역의 MOSFET 동작을 이용한 OP-AMP 설계 (Design of OP-AMP using MOSFET of Sub-threshold Region)

  • 본 논문에서는 IoT(Internet of Things) 시스템의 기본 구성이 되는 센서 네트워크에 사용될 수 있는 MOSFET(Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor)의 Sub-threshold 동작을 이용하는 OP-AMP(Operational amplifier) 설계를 제안한다. MOSFET의 Sub-threshold 동작은 전원전압을 낮추는 효과로 회로 시스템을 초저전력으로 유도할 수 있는 특징이 있기 때문에 배터리를 사용하는 IoT의 센서 네트워크 시스템의 초저전력화에 매우 유용한 회로설계 기술이라고 할 수 있다. $0.35{\mu}m$ 공정을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과, VDD를 0.6 V로 설계할 수 있었으며, OP-AMP 의 Open-loop Gain은 43 dB, 또한 설계한 OP-AMP의 소비전력은 $1.3{\mu}W$가 계산되었다. 또한, Active Layout 면적은 $64{\mu}m{\times}105{\mu}m$이다. 제안한 OP-AMP는 IoT의 저전력 센서 네트워크에 다양한 응용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 센서 네트워크 시스템 기반의 저 전력, 저 비용의 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템을 설계 및 구현 하였다. RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator)기반의 사용자 실내 위치 추적 시스템과 Dynamic multi-hop routing 시스템, 학습형 통합 리모컨을 활용한 능동적 가전기기 제어 시스템을 각각 설계하여 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구현 하였다. 지능형 서비스를 위해 반드시 팔요한 사용자 위치 정보는 RSSI기반의 삼각측량을 통해 계산하고 측정된 위치 정보값의 오차를 줄이기 위해 Smoothing Algorithm을 적용하였다. 또한 지능형 홈네트워크 서비스 제공을 위해 사용자가 휴대하는 무선 센서노드를 Layout 하여 설계, 제작하였으며 수집된 사용자의 실시간 위치 정보와 환경 센서 데이타는 Dynamic multi-hop routing을 통해 서버 프로그램으로 전달되며 각종 계산을 통해 사용자 위치정보와 환경 정보가 디스플레이 된다.

Concrete pavement monitoring with PPP-BOTDA distributed strain and crack sensors

  • In this study, the feasibility of using telecommunication single-mode optical fiber (SMF) as a distributed fiber optic strain and crack sensor was evaluated in concrete pavement monitoring. Tensile tests on various sensors indicated that the $SMF-28e^+$ fiber revealed linear elastic behavior to rupture at approximately 26 N load and 2.6% strain. Six full-scale concrete panels were prepared and tested under truck and three-point loads to quantify the performance of sensors with pulse pre-pump Brillouin optical time domain analysis (PPP-BOTDA). The sensors were protected by precast mortar from brutal action during concrete casting. Once air-cured for 2 hours after initial setting, half a mortar cylinder of 12 mm in diameter ensured that the protected sensors remained functional during and after concrete casting. The strains measured from PPP-BOTDA with a sensitivity coefficient of $5.43{\times}10^{-5}GHz/{\mu}{\varepsilon}$ were validated locally by commercial fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors. Unlike the point FBG sensors, the distributed PPP-BOTDA sensors can be utilized to effectively locate multiple cracks. Depending on their layout, the distributed sensors can provide one- or two-dimensional strain fields in pavement panels. The width of both micro and major cracks can be linearly related to the peak strain directly measured with the distributed fiber optic sensor.

Line Scan Sensor용 저면적 eFuse OTP 설계 (Design of Small-Area eFuse OTP Memory for Line Scan Sensors)

  • 본 논문에서는 행의 개수가 열의 개수보다 작은 4행 ${\times}$ 8열의 셀 어레이를 갖는 eFuse OTP IP 설계에서 eFuse의 프로그램 전류를 공급하는 SL 구동 라인을 열 방향으로 라우팅 하는 대신 행 방향으로 라우팅 하므로 레이아웃 면적을 많이 차지하는 SL 구동회로 수를 8개에서 4개로 줄이는 셀 어레이 방식과 코어 회로를 제안하였다. 제안된 셀 어레이 방식과 코어 회로는 32비트 eFuse OTP IP의 레이아웃 면적을 줄였다. 그리고 큰 read 전류에 의해 blowing 되지 않은 eFuse가 EM 현상에 의해 blowing되는 현상을 방지하기 위하여 RWL 구동회로와 BL 풀-업 부하회로에 필요한 V2V($=2V{\pm}10%$) 레귤레이터를 설계하였다. 설계된 4행 ${\times}$ 8열의 32비트 eFuse OTP IP의 레이아웃 면적은 $120.1{\mu}m{\times}127.51{\mu}m$ ($=0.01531mm^2$)로 기존의 eFuse OTP IP의 면적인 $187.065{\mu}m{\times}94.525{\mu}m$ ($=0.01768mm^2$)보다 13.4% 더 작은 것을 확인하였다.
