The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of the usable space and its areal distribution for the sake of analogizing the planning criteria to be established when the elementary school is renovated. This study has been progressed with reference to the analysis of the drawings, situation analysis through the visiting, and materials of each elementary schools. As a result, the types of the usable space and its areal distribution of each school are different. So, it is an urgent problem what criteria are established on the types of the usable space and its areal distribution when the elementary school is renovated.

On former days, school has realized as "where teach", but development of a technology and change of paradigm are changing school as "where study". This is meaning that student is more important and be considered than others when make school environment. Due to continuous investment of national level in several decades, in our elementary school's facilities and environment, when compare with advanced nations that we know that have come to the fairly high level. But, it is not really certainly in middle school and high school. Than the reason is, 'College entrance examination' is prior than other certain values in occasion of high school especially, and we ask a question in return whether have persuaded ourselves that school facilities and environment may change later. It is hard to find more important thing than the proposition in fact on present society. However, it is that society and facilities that can correspond to fast change of paradigm, change of curriculum, learner's change and environment have to be changed in middle school and high school now. Departmentalized Class System that applies in national middle and high school now can become an opportunity that can improve school facilities and environment of middle and high school. In such background, I studied space satisfaction and student's moving route and pattern characteristic of Departmentalized Class System high school in Chungcheongbuk-do area. And this study aims at supply the data about efficient Departmentalized Class System School's facilities plan and space use which can meet on request of students.

The former studies for expanding a balcony space were tend to be focused on only quantitative aspects. In this study, the characteristics of balcony space on thermal on vironment in apartment house were analysed. First, the effect of the balcony space on thermal environment of living space was analysed by field measurement. Second, the temperature distribution of the bedroom and heating/cooling load with the balcony expansion were analysed by numerical simulation.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction and recognition for applying to component of Emotion of the elementary school space with characteristics of child development. For the accomplishment of the study is to deduce types of emotional component and characteristics of child development based on literature and advanced research related to 'Child development and behavior', 'The elementary school space', and concept of 'children' and 'emotion'. In addition, The level of recognition of teachers and students about creation plan of school space by types of emotion component and preference and relationships of students on emotion component of elementary school space is investigated. The space environment has great influence in childhood going through big changes in physical, cognitive, emotional and social ways, Providing space environment built with emotion component such as 'affordance', 'diversity', 'territoriality', and 'relationships' considering characteristics of child development is most important of all, In particular, when building indoor space in elementary schools where students going through various development stages live, providing friendly environments for emotion of children put top priority on students in the decision-making process and guaranteed the participation of students is expected.

This study was conducted to develop a tool to investigate and analyze the educational effect of the school space innovation project, which is being promoted on a large scale at the national level. In order to analyze the educational effect of school space innovation, it is first necessary to analyze the structure of the space altered by the school space innovation. Research and analysis should be possible, so a user survey tool was developed for this purpose. It is expected that the survey tool in this study can be used for pre-investigation in the pre-planning stage of the school space innovation project and as a post-evaluation tool for investigating and analyzing the educational effects of space innovation.

Information & Communication Technology(ICT), called ubiquitous computing, changes our environment in many ways. It also acts on educational environment in concert with new pedagogy. Korean Government gives an efforts to set up the u-School as the educational environment supported by ICT. This study aims to find efficient uses of ICT to cope with the changing education environment and emerging needs of users. The survey research follows the pilot study on the model of future school. The students and teachers in six schools located in Busan answered the questionnaire and 752 individuals were analyzed by the statistical method including frequencies, crosstabs, ANOVA, and factor analysis. The conclusions are as follows: (1) Highly demanded were the u-School facilities to provide pleasant environment as the teachers and students have to spend most of time in classroom, or school premises. In addition, the infrastructures were so desperately required that students are able to control their textbooks and belongings, and efficiently utilize a variety of data. (2) The classroom volume should be planned a bit smaller than the current number of students so that teachers are relieved from the burden of too many student. The needs of students to interact with more students can be bolstered by utilization of ICT. (3) The respondents feel the high needs of computer for student, electronic blackboard, electronic lecture desk, microphone and computer for teacher as the teaching and learning facilities. This showed high needs for teaching and learning facilities enabling the active and individual learning through the use of ICT at education environment. In conclusion, the study proposes the fundamental data to combine u-School elements proper to the current learning and school environment, from the analysis on the use of school facilities, with the subjects, the users of education environment.

This study was to research and analyze the concept of school space innovation to aim at the importance of user educational value. The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs of students, teachers, or consumers connected with the educational autonomous innovative curriculum and various school-government educational activities and suggest the ways to link school space innovation to the best possible reflection for demander-centered or the demander needs To this end, the basic concepts of the autonomous education and school space innovation were reviewed, and the literature survey on the revised education curriculum in 2015 and educational autonomous innovation curriculum at the national level, educational goals and basic value-added awareness of the curriculum. The purpose was to research the perception of students and teachers through the survey and analysis of basic values of education, the functions of school education, the direction of school environment and space spatial composition, and school space.

This study examines many preceding studies on school space, including the high school credit system, and attempts to present the importance after deriving the most appropriate factors when constructing an educational environment of the high school credit system. Based on the derived importance level, the purpose of this study was to provide information that is helpful for the implementation of the educational environment of the high school credit system in each school and to establish and present a model from an academic perspective by deriving the importance of the educational environment according to the high school credit system. As a research method, the importance of the educational environment was analyzed through the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The result of the analysis indicated that it is necessary to consider the interrelationship between the educational curriculum and the educational environment, which selectively and intensively performs functions and maximizes the effect according to the strategic importance of the educational environment.

Recently, people are paying attention to new forms of construction. For example, deviated from an enclosed type space, people have been interested in an atrium type and an arcade type spaces. In this study, we had hypothesis 'Indoor thermal environment will be influenced by the inflow rate of natural lights with temperature and humidity.' We selected a multi-complex cultural center and conducted this study. This place is consisted of atrium, arcade, and enclosed types. The three spaces were classified according to the type of spaces that have own features along with their forms. The atrium type space has ceiling and the side windows, and the arcade type space has ceiling windows. On the other hand, there are no windows or open parts in the enclosed type space. Three measurement points at each space were selected because of their huge space. Intensity of illumination, temperature and humidity were confirmed by the average value of three measurement points. In addition, surveys were conducted regarding indoor comfort elements in each space.

Recently, many studies have conducted to satisfy a physical need of human between environment of light on space, so an atrium structure has been applied to cultural complex. However, this structure brings about many problems such as overheating in summer, excessive vertical temperature differences, condensation, diffusion of noise, effect of echo, and withering landscapes. Especially, in this research, thermal comfort by difference of vertical temperature in the space of atrium and the optical characteristics of glass skins of the atrium could be remarkably effected by solar flux entering indoors.
