A Study on Unmanned Vehicles Estimation using Steepest Descent, Wiener and Bartlett Algorithm (최급 하강법 및 위너 방법을 Bartlett알고리즘에 적용한 무인 이동체 탐지 방법에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we studied the Bartlett method to correctly estimate the targets of a unmanned vehicles. The Bartlett method estimates the desired signals by making the gain constant for the received signal incident on the array antenna. In this paper, the weights of the Bartlett method are updated by applying the winner method and steepest descent method in order to estimation the accurate unmanned. The updated weights improve the resolution of the existing Bartlett method by applying optimal weights to all received signals received at the array antenna. Through simulation, we are comparative analysis about the performance of proposed method. From result of simulation, We showed the superior performance of the proposed method relative to the classical method, and Bartlett using steep descent method showed more superior than one using wiener method.

Image Filter Optimization Method based on common sub-expression elimination for Low Power Image Feature Extraction Hardware Design (저전력 영상 특징 추출 하드웨어 설계를 위한 공통 부분식 제거 기법 기반 이미지 필터 하드웨어 최적화)

  • In this paper, image filter optimization method based on common sub-expression elimination is proposed for low-power image feature extraction hardware design. Low power and high performance object recognition hardware is essential for industrial robot which is used for factory automation. However, low area Gaussian gradient filter hardware design is required for object recognition hardware. For the hardware complexity reduction, we adopt the symmetric characteristic of the filter coefficients using the transposed form FIR filter hardware architecture. The proposed hardware architecture can be implemented without degradation of the edge detection data quality since the proposed hardware is implemented with original Gaussian gradient filtering algorithm. The expremental result shows the 50% of multiplier savings compared with previous work.

Prediction of Assistance Force for Opening/Closing of Automobile Door Using Support Vector Machine (서포트 벡터 머신을 이용한 차량도어의 개폐 보조력 예측)

  • We developed a prediction model of assistance force for the opening/closing of an automobile door depending on the condition of the parking ground. The candidates of the learning models for the operating assistance force were compared to determine the proper force according to the slope and user's force, etc. The reduced experimental model was developed to obtain learning data for the estimation model. The learning algorithm was composed to predict the assistance force to incorporate real assistance force data. Among these algorithms, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Support Vector Machine(SVM) were applied and the adaptability was compared between these models. The SVM provided more adaptability for the learning process of the door assistance force prediction. This paper proposes a system for determining the assistance force to control a door motor to compensate for the deviation of required door force in the slope condition, as needed in the plane condition.

  • To prepare for and implement policies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is characterized by convergence, super-connectivity, and AI, this study summarized the effects and characteristics of individual technologies on our society and discussed the issues with humanity and social science perspectives. As a result, in terms of AI technology, the issues of job losses, project-type works, basic income and robot taxes, accountability of AI, and algorithm inequality were dealt with. Security, cyber hacking and privacy infringement issues were highlighted in big-data technology. In the part of block-chain and bioengineering, the society of decentralization, the concentration, digital divide, and ethical issues were discussed. On-demand economic aspects highlighted the problems of civil ethics and human commercialization. Lastly, the development of VR is discussed including side effects such as cyber-syndrom, avoidance of reality, and so on.

  • AI is applied increasingly to overall industries such as living, medical, financial service, autonomous car, etc. thanks to rapid technology development. AI-leading countries are strengthening their competency to secure competitiveness since AI is positioned as the core technology in $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution. Although Korea has the competitive IT infra and human resources, it lags behind traditional AI-leaders like United States, Canada, Japan and, even China which devotes all its might to develop intelligent technology-intentive industry. AI is the critical technology influencing on the national industry in the near future according to advancement of intelligent information society so that concentration of capability is required with national interest. Also, joint development with global AI-leading companies as well as development of own technology are crucial to prevent technology subordination. Additionally, regulatory reform and preparation of related law are very urgent.

Noise Removal of Image Signals using Inflection Points on Histogram (히스토그램의 변곡점을 이용한 영상 신호의 잡음 제거)

  • In modern society, various video devices such as CCTV and black boxes are used for convenience. However, noise is frequently generated in the process of transmitting and receiving video images and video signals photographed at night. If such noise is not eliminated, the problem that the image is difficult to identify is generated. Accordingly, noise elimination of images in the image information is an indispensable step. Salt and Pepper noises are typical impulse noises among image noises. Previous research has been carried out as a method for eliminating noise, and CWMF, MMF and A-TMF are typical methods. In common, such a filter exhibits excellent performance in a low-density noise area, but a disadvantage is that noise elimination performance in a high-density noise area is somewhat insufficient. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm uses the inflection point of the histogram graph to separate areas and remove singular points, and proposes a weighting filter utilizing histogram distribution. PSNR was used for objective judgment.

  • In this study, we developed an automatic module changer for agricultural implements for using in unmanned agricultural robots. An automatic module changer is attached by lowering from the top to bottom of the implements and fixing the four fastener bars attached to the implements in combination. The lift function was implemented using seesaw-type structures to keep the engagement point constant when the automatic module changer climbs and descends, and the switching function of the automatic module changer was implemented using the link device in the cam structure. We developed an algorithm to check the presence of attachment and opening/closing of the workpiece using limit switches and verified the performance through combination assessment and weight lift test to assess whether the combination was within the error range.

  • In modern society, various digital devices are being distributed in a wide range of fields due to the fourth industrial revolution and the development of IoT technology. However, noise is generated in the process of acquiring or transmitting an image, and not only damages the information, but also affects the system, causing errors and incorrect operation. AWGN is a representative noise among image noise. As a method for removing noise, prior research has been conducted, and among them, AF, A-TMF, and MF are the representative methods. Existing filters have a disadvantage that smoothing occurs in areas with high frequency components because it is difficult to consider the characteristics of images. Therefore, the proposed algorithm calculates the standard deviation distribution to effectively eliminate noise even in the high frequency domain, and then calculates the final output by applying the probability density function weight of the Laplace distribution using the curve fitting method.

Implementation of Camera-Based Autonomous Driving Vehicle for Indoor Delivery using SLAM (SLAM을 이용한 카메라 기반의 실내 배송용 자율주행 차량 구현)

  • In this paper, we proposed an autonomous vehicle platform that delivers goods to a designated destination based on the SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) map generated indoors by applying the Visual SLAM technology. To generate a SLAM map indoors, a depth camera for SLAM map generation was installed on the top of a small autonomous vehicle platform, and a tracking camera was installed for accurate location estimation in the SLAM map. In addition, a convolutional neural network (CNN) was used to recognize the label of the destination, and the driving algorithm was applied to accurately arrive at the destination. A prototype of an indoor delivery autonomous vehicle was manufactured, and the accuracy of the SLAM map was verified and a destination label recognition experiment was performed through CNN. As a result, the suitability of the autonomous driving vehicle implemented by increasing the label recognition success rate for indoor delivery purposes was verified.

  • In the Google Deepmind Challenge match, Alphago defeated Korea's Sedol Lee (human) with 4 wins and 1 loss in the Go match. Finally, artificial intelligence is going beyond the use of human intelligence. The Korean government's budget for the Digital New Deal is 9 trillion won in 2022, and an additional 301 types of data construction projects for artificial intelligence learning will be secured. From 2023, the industrial paradigm will change with the use and application of learning of artificial intelligence in all fields of industry. This paper conducts research to utilize artificial intelligence algorithms. Focusing on the analysis and judgment of data in artificial intelligence learning, research on the appropriate target and scope of application of algorithms in artificial intelligence machine learning and deep learning learning is conducted. This study will provide basic data for artificial intelligence in the 4th industrial revolution technology and artificial intelligence robot use in the 5th industrial revolution technology.
