시스템의 신뢰성(信賴性) 보증방법(保證方法)에 대(對)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Methods of Systems Reliability Assurance)

  • In principle the methods of increasing the reliability of complex system can be classified into the following four basic methods: (1) using the stand-by redundancy; (2) decreasing the failure rate of the system; (3) decreasing the time of continuous operation; (4) decreasing the mean repair time. Among the above four methods, it is generally known that the method of stand-by redundancy is the most effective general, to increase the reliability of systems. Therefor this paper aims to compare the gain in reliability which is achieved by applying stand-by redundancy with other methods, and to show the characteristics of each method From the comparison of the methods of increasing reliability, the following important facts are found: When the method of stand-by redundancy is used to increase the reliability of complex systems intended for long-term operation, a hight multiplicity of stand-by redundancy is required. Thus an increase of the reliability of complex system by applying stand-by redandancy is realized at the expense of characteristics such as weight, size, cost, increased complexity of operation conditions. And this property restricts its use in systems which are critical with respect to weight, size, cost or operation conditions. The method of stand-by redundancy is the most effective when this method is used to increase the reliability of complex systems intended for short-term operation, and the method of decreasing failure rate is the most effective when it is used to increase the reliability of systems intended for long-term use. The methods of increasing reliability discussed in this paper make it possible to make highly reliable systems. But it is not possible to make a highly reliable system using a single method of increasing reliability, even if it is the most effective one. Therefore it is recommended to use all or a majority of the above four methods by choosing it in accordance with the properties of the system under construction.

  • 시스템의 대규모, 복잡화는 시스템의 결함 여부를 테스트하는 것을 어렵게 하고 있다. 시스템의 구성은 기능별 모듈로 나눌 수 있으며, 시스템의 각 모듈이 전체 시스템의 신뢰도에 미치는 영향의 효율적인 분석을 통해 시스템 전체에 대한 효율적인 테스트 전략을 수립할 수 있고 이는 전체 시스템 테스트의 효율을 증대시킬 수 있을 것이다. 또한 시스템 모델을 정형화된 모듈로 나타낼 경우 그 시스템의 동작상의 논리적인 정확성, 성능분석 및 신뢰성 예측 등의 여러 특성 등의 효율적인 분석이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 모듈을 그래프 모델로 정형화하고, 이것의 시스템 동작 특성을 기반으로 한 분석을 통하여 각 모듈이 전체 시스템의 신뢰성에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 기법을 제안한다.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 최근 국내에서 개발된 섬유보강 고강도 콘크리트 설계지침(안)의 저감계수를 적용하여 확보하는 설계의 신뢰도지수를 분석하는 것이다. 설계지침(안) 개발을 위하여 수행된 재료실험 및 부재실험 데이터를 수집하여 재료강도 통계특성 및 부재강도 해석식에 대한 통계특성을 구한다. 재료통계특성과 설계지침(안)의 부재 해석식을 적용한 시뮬레이션을 수행하고 해석식의 통계특성과 종합하여 단면강도에 대한 통계특성을 산출한다. 국내 도로교설계기준과 콘크리트구조기준의 하중조합을 적용한 신뢰도분석을 수행하였으며, 설계지침(안)에서 제시한 재료 및 부재에 대한 저감계수를 적용한 설계는 목표신뢰도 지수를 만족함을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of determining the confidence level in zero-failure reliability sampling plans when the life distribution is Weibull distribution with a shape parameter m and a scale parameter ${\eta}$. We introduce zero-failure reliability sampling plans for Weibull distribution and investigate some characteristics of zero-failure reliability sampling plans. Finally, We propose new guideline for determining the confidence level in zero-failure reliability sampling plans for assuring $B_x-life$.

공간적 확률 과정 기반의 수율 정보를 이용한 번인과 신뢰성 검사 정책 (Differential Burn-in and Reliability Screening Policy Using Yield Information Based on Spatial Stochastic Processes)

  • Decisions on reliability screening rules and burn-in policies are determined based on the estimated reliability. The variability in a semiconductor manufacturing process does not only causes quality problems but it also makes reliability estimation more complicated. This study investigates the nonuniformity characteristics of integrated circuit reliability according to defect density distribution within a wafer and between wafers then develops optimal burn-in policy based on the estimated reliability. New reliability estimation model based on yield information is developed using a spatial stochastic process. Spatial defect density variation is reflected in the reliability estimation, and the defect densities of each die location are considered as input variables of the burn-in optimization. Reliability screening and optimal burn-in policy subject to the burn-in cost minimization is examined, and numerical experiments are conducted.

손상평가와 구조물 신뢰성과의 연계 (Linkage of Damage Evaluation to Structural System Reliability)

  • 구조물에 대한 비파괴 손상평가는 손상 전과 손상 후의 동적 특성으로부터 손상의 위치와 그 크기에 대한 정보를 제공한다. 기존 구조물의 시스템 신뢰도를 추정하기 위해서는 이러한 비파괴 손상평가의 결과가 부재요소의 파괴확률에 반영되어야 한다. 구조 부재의 파괴확률은 각 부재의 파괴함수로부터 신뢰성 이론을 이용하여 구할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 각 부재의 파괴확률로부터 직접 구조 시스템의 파괴확률을 구할 수 있는 식을 제안하였다. 손상평가와 신뢰성평가 분야의 연계는 철골조 단층 프레임의 수치해석 모델에 인위적인 손상을 가하여 손상 전과 손상 후의 모달 변수를 이용하여 그 타당성을 입증하였다.

변형된 강도함수를 적용한 소프트웨어 신뢰모형의 신뢰성능 비교 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reliability Performance Evaluation of Software Reliability Model Using Modified Intensity Function)

  • In this study, we was compared the reliability performance of the software reliability model, which applied the Goel-Okumoto model developed using the exponential distribution, to the logarithmic function modifying the intensity function and the Rayleigh form. As a result, the log-type model is relatively smaller in the mean squared error compared to the Rayleigh model and the Goel-Okumoto model. The logarithmic model is more efficient because of the determination coefficient is relatively higher than the Goel-Okumoto model. The estimated determination coefficient of the proposed model was estimated to be more than 80% which is a useful model in the field of software reliability. Reliability has been shown to be relatively higher in the log-type model than the Rayleigh model and the Goel-Okumoto model as the mission time has elapsed. Through this study, software designer and users can identify the software failure characteristics using mean square error, decision coefficient. The confidence interval can be used as a basic guideline when applying the intensity function that reflects the characteristics of the lifetime distribution.

  • Critical systems with high reliability feature fault tolerant redundancy. Conventional analytical reliability analysis methods that use the Reliability Block Diagram do not adequately reflect characteristics of the redundancy management system and are not suitable for this applications. This paper uses Monte-Carlo method to calculate the reliability of complicated redundant systems. The method was first validated for cases with analytical solutions. Then, the tool was successfully applied to analyze reliability of the flight control systems with a voter as redundancy management system.

  • This paper presents a method for assessing reliability indices of transmission system. Because successful operation of electric power under the deregulated electricity market depends on transmission system reliability management, quantity evaluation of transmission system reliability is very important. The key point idea is based on that the reliability level of transmission system is equal to reliability level difference of between composite power system(HLII) and generation system(HLI). It is sure that risk indices of reliability of composite power system are larger than those of generation system. It is the reason that composite power system includes uncertainties and capacity limit of transmission lines. The characteristics and effectiveness of this methodology are illustrated by the case study using MRBTS.

성능분포에 기초한 신뢰성 인정시험 설계 (Design of Reliability Qualification Test based on Performance Distribution)

  • In general, the performance of a component degrades as time goes by and failure of a component occurs when the performance degradation reaches a pre-specified level. It is difficult to obtain the failure time distribution data or the necessary number of failure data especially for the metal or machine part. Thus, a design of reliability qualification test based on performance distribution is more effective than failure time distribution. In this study, a performance-based reliability qualification test is developed and a numerical example is provided to illustrate the use of the developed reliability qualification test. This approach could be applied to many kinds of metal or machine part whose magnitude of strength could not be evaluated during at any random points but judgement can be made by only failure of the part. Besides, it is also possible that any parts which have a similar failure characteristics could be applicable to the developed reliability qualification test.
