  • We investigate the containment measure of one domain to contain in another domain in a plane $X^{\kappa}$ of constant curvature. We obtain some Bonnesen-type inequalities involving the area, length, radius of the inscribed and the circumscribed disc of a domain D in $X^{\kappa}$.

  • The main aim of this article is to study symmetric (v, k, ${\lambda}$) designs admitting a flag-transitive and point-primitive automorphism group G whose socle is PSU(3, q). We indeed show that such designs must be complete.

  • In this paper we consider the holomorphic curves (or derived holomorphic curves introduced by Toda in [15]) with maximal defect sum in the complex plane. Some well-known theorems on meromorphic functions of finite order with maximal sum of defects are extended to holomorphic curves in projective space.

  • Let L be the free Lie superalgebra generated by a $Z_2$-graded vector space V over C. Suppose that g is a Lie superalgebra gl(m, n) or q(n). We study the g-module structure on the kth homogeneous component Lk of L when V is the natural representation of g. We give the multiplicities of irreducible representations of g in Lk by using the character of Lk. The multiplicities are given in terms of the character values of irreducible (projective) representations of the symmetric groups.

  • Let $RRat_k$ ($CP^n$) denote the space of basepoint-preserving conjugation-equivariant holomorphic maps of degree k from $S^2$ to $CP^n$. A map f ; $S^2 {\to}CP^n$ is said to be full if its image does not lie in any proper projective subspace of $CP^n$. Let $RF_k(CP^n)$ denote the subspace of $RRat_k(CP^n)$ consisting offull maps. In this paper we determine $H{\ast}(RF_k(CP^2); Z/p)$ for all primes p.

  • In 1911 Schur[6] derived degree and character formulas for projective representations of the symmetric groups remarkably similar to the corresponding formulas for ordinary representations. Morris[3] derived a recurrence for evaluation of spin characters and Stembridge[8] gave a combinatorial reformulation for Morris' recurrence. In this paper we give combinatorial interpretations for the orthogonality relations of spin characters based on Stembridge's combinatorial reformulation for Morris' rule.

  • Let C be a smooth complex algebraic curve of genus g. For a divisor D on C, dim D means the dimension of the complete linear series $\mid$D$\mid$ containing D, which is the same as the projective dimension of the vector space of meromorphic functions f on C with divisor of poles $(f)_\infty \leq D$.

  • Over a field k, every schur k-algebra is a cyclotomic algebra due to Brauer-Witt theorem. Similarly every projective Schur k-division algebra is itself a radical algebra by Aljadeff-Sonn theorem. We study the two theorems over a certain commutative ring, and prove similar results over regular domain containing a field.

  • An n-dimensional complex space form $M_n(c)$ is a Kaehlerian manifold of constant holomorphic sectional curvature c. As is well known, complete and simply connected complex space forms are a complex projective space $P_n C$, a complex Euclidean space $C_n$ or a complex hyperbolic space $H_n C$ according as c > 0, c = 0 or c < 0.
