  • Two new types of positive biasedness, which are closely related to Type III positive biasedness (Yanagimoto and Sibuya, 1972), are proposed. We call these near Type III positive biasedness. Though no implication between Type II and near Type III biasedness exists, near Type III seems to be less restrictive than Type II biasedness. Constrained maximum likelihood estimates of distribution functions under near Type III positive bisedness are obtained. The likelihood ratio tests of symmetry against new positive biasedness restrictions are proposed. A small simulation study is conducted to compare the performance of the tests.

  • In this paper, we introduce the notion of a positive implicative filter in BE-algebras. We show that every positive implicative filter is a filter in BE-algebras. We give some examples that a filter may not be a positive implicative filter and also a positive implicative filter may be not an implicative filter in BE-algebras. We also give some equivalent conditions of a positive implicative filter in BE-algebras.

  • In general, the positive solution to biological reaction-diffusion equations is not unique. In this paper, we state the sufficient and necessary conditions of the existence of positive solutions, and give and the proof for the uniqueness of positive solutions for a certain elliptic interacting system.

  • The fuzzification of positive implicative hyper K-ideals in hyper K-algebras is considered, Relations between fuzzy positive implicative hyper K-ideal and fuzzy hyper K-ideal are given. Characterizations of fuzzy positive implicative hyper K-ideals are provided. Using a family of positive implicative hyper K-ideals we make a fuzzy positive implicative hyper K-ideal. Using the notion of a fuzzy positive implicative hyper K-ideal, a weak hyper K-ideal is established.

  • Objectives: This study seeks to identify the positive psychological capital, burnout, and compassion satisfaction levels of clinical dental hygienists to understand the factors affecting positive psychological capital and to establish measures to improve the positive psychological capital, and to utilize them. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 190 dental hygienists of the clinic from February 1 to April 30, 2020. Statistical analyses were conducted with the help of independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: Dental hygienists scored 3.47 points in positive psychological capital. The variables that influenced positive psychological capital were burnout and compassion satisfaction. The variables influencing positive psychological capital were monthly income_dummy2 (200-249/≥250), burnout, and compassion satisfaction. Conclusions: The positive psychological capital of clinical dental hygienists was found to be related to burnout and compassion satisfaction; additionally, compassion satisfaction had the greatest influence. Therefore, it will reduce burnout, improve compassion satisfaction, positive psychological capital, and contribute to efficient human resource management.

  • In this note we derive inequalities of linearly positive quadrant dependent random variables and obtain a strong law of large numbers for linealy positive quardant dependent random variables. Our results imply an extension of Birkel's strong law of large numbers for associated random variables to the linear positive quadrant dependence case.

  • In this paper we extend the definition of K-positive definite operators from linear to Frechet differentiable operators. Under this setting, we derive from the inverse function theorem a local existence and approximation results corresponding to those of Theorems land 2 of the authors [8], in an arbitrary real Banach space. Furthermore, an asymptotically K-positive definite operator is introduced and a simplified iteration sequence which converges to the unique solution of an asymptotically K-positive definite operator equation is constructed.

  • We provide a characterization of the positive monoids (i.e., additive submonoids of the nonnegative real numbers) that satisfy the finite factorization property. As a result, we establish that positive monoids with well-ordered generating sets satisfy the finite factorization property, while positive monoids with co-well-ordered generating sets satisfy this property if and only if they satisfy the bounded factorization property.

  • In this paper, by establishing the direct method of moving planes for the fractional Laplacian system with positive-negative mixed powers, we obtain the radial symmetry and monotonicity of the positive solutions for the fractional Laplacian systems with positive-negative mixed powers in the whole space. We also give two special cases.
