  • The actual condition of periodic visual acuity testing for 304 undergraduate students were investigated for the purpose of prepared some fundamental data on the development of the eye-health education program and conducting a practical application. Many undergraduate students (59.21%) had not been tested periodic visual acuity testing. The ratio of periodic visual acuity testing for female was higher than male. There was statistical significant difference dependence on the native place, the educational system, and the division of major. The ratio of periodic visual acuity testing for undergraduate students from city was 43.07%, from rural area was 24.32% (p<0.05). According to the educational system, the ratio of periodic visual acuity testing of university students was 65.71%, college students was 27.64% (p<0.001). The ratio of periodic visual acuity testing of undergraduate students who have corrected their visual acuity was 50.25%, while that of students who have not corrected was 23.36% (p<0.001).

  • For missile systems, sustaining high reliability and ensuring economical maintenance are very important. In the Republic of Korea, for most missiles, periodic inspection is mandatory for missiles in the field. Every fixed number of years, they are returned to the ordnance depot to be tested and repaired if faults are found. Almost all missiles have a built-in test (BIT) capability. With the BIT, faulty missiles can be isolated anytime during operations or storage in the launchers. So the reliability and the maintenance costs of the missiles greatly depend on the length of the inspection cycle and the BIT/inspection quality. In this paper, we suggest a model for predicting the storage reliability of missiles subjected to non-periodic tests and periodic inspections, excluding overlapping failures. Some numerical examples are given. This model will be useful for determining the length of the periodic inspection cycle.

  • The stochastic stability control of the parameter-excited vibration of an inclined stay cable with multiple modes coupling under random and periodic combined support disturbances is studied by using the direct eigenvalue analysis approach based on the response moment stability, Floquet theorem, Fourier series and matrix eigenvalue analysis. The differential equation with time-varying parameters for the transverse vibration of the inclined cable with control under random and deterministic support disturbances is derived and converted into the randomly and deterministically parameter-excited multi-degree-of-freedom vibration equations. As the stochastic stability of the parameter-excited vibration is mainly determined by the characteristics of perturbation moment, the differential equation with only deterministic parameters for the perturbation second moment is derived based on the $It{\hat{o}}$ stochastic differential rule. The stochastically and deterministically parameter-excited vibration stability is then determined by the deterministic parameter-varying response moment stability. Based on the Floquet theorem, expanding the periodic parameters of the perturbation moment equation and the periodic component of the characteristic perturbation moment expression into the Fourier series yields the eigenvalue equation which determines the perturbation moment behavior. Thus the stochastic stability of the parameter-excited cable vibration under the random and periodic combined support disturbances is determined directly by the matrix eigenvalues. The direct eigenvalue analysis approach is applicable to the stochastic stability of the control cable with multiple modes coupling under various periodic and/or random support disturbances. Numerical results illustrate that the multiple cable modes need to be considered for the stochastic stability of the parameter-excited cable vibration under the random and periodic support disturbances, and the increase of the control damping rather than control stiffness can greatly enhance the stochastic stability of the parameter-excited cable vibration including the frequency width increase of the periodic disturbance and the critical value increase of the random disturbance amplitude.

  • In this paper, we estimate correlation dimensions of discrete quasi periodic ordits with frequencies, irrational numbers, which are called quasi Roth numbers. We specify the lower estimate valuse of the dimensions by using the parameters which are derived the rational approximable properties of the quasi Roth numbers.

  • In this paper, we establish a multiple existence result of T-periodic solutions for the semilinear parabolic boundary value problem with sublinear growth nonlinearities. We adapt sub-supersolution scheme and topological argument based on variational structure of functionals.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate some lifting properties of homomorphisms of flows. It is shown that an almost one to one extension of a minimal proximal flow is proximal. It is also shown that a distal extension of a pointwise almost periodic flow is pointwise almost periodic.

  • Complementary theorem and its corollaries are presented to describe properties of frequency spectrum of periodic gate function. The theorem shows that the frequency spectrum of a periodic gate function signal is the same as that of its complementary signal, and that a DC has no information.
