Effects of Software Education activities for Multicultural students on Resilience, Communication and Interpersonal Relationship

  • In this paper, the Software Education program for elementary school students in Multicultural families developed so that Multicultural students can adapt to national, school, peer, and teacher. The effects of Resilience, Communication skills and Interpersonal Relationshiop were investigated. The developed Software education program was designed in such a way that the target students became more intimate with each other and adapted to Korean culture, peers, and teachers through the analysis of the research subjects. Resilience test showed statistically significant difference in peer relationship and support, family support and interaction, teacher's interest and support, self - identity, and cultural acceptance. Communication ability test showed statistically significant differences in interpretation ability, self presentation ability, goal setting ability, and message conversion ability. The interpersonal Relationship test showed statistically significant differences in people's orientation toward people, facing people, and away from people. The results of this study indicate that the software education program for elementary school students in multicultural families has effects on adaptive flexibility, communication ability, and interpersonal ability. In the future, There is a need for continuous research with development and effectiveness of various software education programs for Multicultural students.

주의력결핍/과다활동장애(ADHD) 아동에서 사회기술훈련 (THE SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING IN CHILDREN WITH ATTENTION-DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER(ADHD))

  • 목 적:주의력결핍/과다활동장애(ADHD) 아동들은 또래관계를 영위하는데 필요한 것을 포함한 다양한 사회기술에 결함을 보인다. 이들의 치료에 약물치료를 포함한 부모훈련, 교육적 접근 등이 필요하지만 이와 함께 이들에 대한 사회기술훈련이 시도되고 있다. 이들에게서 사회기술훈련을 적용하여 그 효과를 검증해보고자 한다. 방 법:ADHD로 진단 받은 초등학교 아동 5명과 그들의 부모 5명을 대상으로 Pfiffner와 McBurnett이 제안한 프로그램을 중심으로 총 8회기의 프로그램을 수행하고, 사회기술, 문제행동, 또래의 사회적 수용도, 양육태도 및 양육스트레스, 프로그램 만족도를 비교해 보았다. 결 과:교사와 부모가 평가한 내용이 다소 달랐는데, 교사는 사회기술과 또래의 사회적 수용도에서, 부모는 문제행동의 감소에서 유의미한 호전을 보고하였다. 부모들은 양육태도에서는 별 변화가 없었지만 양육스트레스에서는 현저한 감소를 보고하였으며, 프로그램 만족도는 상당히 높았다. 결 론:ADHD 아동에서 사회기술훈련은 최근에, 주로 보조적이거나 매우 제한적으로 시행되고 있다. 하지만 상당히 많은 아동들이 사회기술의 결함을 호소하고 있기 때문에 이들이 통합적 접근에서 이들의 치료 프로그램에 포함되어 시행하는 것이 바람직하겠다.

Innovation Resistance In a Smart Phone Environment : A Technology Acceptance Model Approach

  • The study developed the ideas of innovation resistance attitude in view of innovation delay, rejection, and objection. Authors developed the idea of innovation resistance attitudes of customers in view of innovation diffusion process. The study categorized the idea of resistance such as delay, rejection, and objection. The study hired the structural equation modeling to evaluate the relationships among the consumers' subjective variables such as incongruence, uncertainty, perceived performance, peer usage, and tradition orientation those were factored out by the survey test. These measured variables were analyzed into the innovation resistance related latent variables. The study provides the basic treatment to introduce new technologies and products to the superficially resisting customers. Those resisting customers might be future late adopters. The research results provide the basic arguments for prerequisite treatment to introduce smart phone in the global market place.

학교 따돌림과 청소년이 지각한 부모의 양육행동과의 관계 (The Relationship between School Bullying and Perceived Parenting Practices of Adolescents)

  • Purpose: To examine whether three, specific maternal and paternal parenting are associated with school bullying. Methods: A longitudinal study was conducted among 1585 seventh and eighth-grade students in two middle schools participated in the study between 2000 and 2001. The instruments were the Korean Peer Nomination and Childrearing Behavior Questionnaire (measuring three dimension of parenting practice: Warmth/acceptance, rejection/restriction, and permissiveness-nonintervention). Descriptive and multiple logistic regression analyses were performed. Results: The ORs of perpetrator with maternal rejection/restriction parenting was 1.065 (confidence interval: 1.008~1.126). Conclusion: Adolescents who were experiencing maternal rejection/restriction was at significantly increased risk for being perpetrators. Development of preventive and intervention programs with the goal of improving parenting skills may help to reduce adolescent school bullying.

학령기 아동의 행동문제 유형에 따른 위험요인과 보호요인의 인과모형 (Behavior Problems in Elementary School Children:Causal Model of Risk and Protective Factors)

  • Data for this short-term longitudinal study were collected at 4 month intervals. Subjects were 423 children attending grades 4, 5, and 6 in Pusan and their mothers. Results showed that casual models of risk and protective factors differed by sex and types of behavior problems. For boys, mother's psychological problems, children's self-control, and their self-esteem directly influenced externalizing behavior problems while mother's psychological problems and children's perceived control parenting indirectly influenced externalizing behavior problems by way of self-esteem. Mother's psychological problems and boys' self-esteem directly influenced internalizing behavior problems. Girls' externalizing behavior problems were influenced directly mother's psychological problems, children's negative emotionality, and peer acceptance. Mother's psychological problems and girls' perceived support from teachers influenced internalizing behavior problems directly. Based on these results the authors proposed an intervention program against children's behavior problems.

또래 괴롭힘 피해아의 특성에 기초한 중재 프로그램의 개발 : 부모교육 프로그램과 사회적 기술 훈련 프로그램을 중심으로 (The Development of Intervention Programs Based on Characteristics of Children Victimized by Peers:Focus on Parent Education and Social Skills Training Programs)

  • Based on characteristics of victims, the parent education program focused on building a new concept of personal respect toward their children and on changing overprotective and coercive parenting styles into democratic parenting. The social skills training program focused on building self-acceptance, self-esteem and interpersonal capabilities in victimized children. Three groups, each composed of 6 victims and their mothers, were compared to examine the effectiveness of the programs. Children in experimental group I showed marked increase in self-esteem. They also reported that their mothers' overprotective parenting decreased after participation in the parent education program, indicating the effectiveness of the intervention program.

Physical Model Investigation of a Compact Waste Water Pumping Station

  • To provide required flow rates of cooling or circulating water properly, approach flow conditions of vertical pump systems should be in compliance with state of the art acceptance criteria. The direct inflow should be vortex free, with low pre-rotation and symmetric velocity distribution. Physical model investigations are common practice and the best tool of prediction to evaluate, to optimize and to document flow conditions inside intake structures for vertical pumping systems. Optimization steps should be accomplished with respect to installation costs and complexity on site. The report shows evaluation of various approach flow conditions inside a compact waste water pumping station. The focus is on the occurrence of free surface vortices and the evaluation of air entrainment for various water level and flow rates. The presentation of the results includes the description of the investigated intake structure, occurring flow problems and final recommendations.

The Effects of Young Children's Self-esteem and Social Competence on Elementary School Adjustment

  • This study aims to discover how self-esteem and social competence in early childhood affect school adjustment in elementary school. This study used the 7th year (2014) and 10th year (2017) of the panel study on Korean children, which are longitudinal research data from the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE). Pearson's correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were used as the main statistical analysis methods. The analysis was performed using the the Spss 21.0 program. As a result of this study, peer acceptance among early childhood's self-esteem, assertion, cooperation, and self-control among social competence have influences on adjustment to elementary school life. This study is meaningful in that it is a longitudinal study conducted with a time difference for 3 years with the same subjects in order to investigate the influence of the inner factors of early childhood on school adjustment in elementary school.

사회적 고립 아동의 사회기술훈련 효과에 관한 메타분석 (A Meta-analysis of Social Skills Training for Socially Isolated Children)

  • Children who have problems in interacting appropriately with others typically have significant social skills deficits. Social skills training has become a primary intervention to improve the appropriate peer relationship or peer acceptance. Many social skills training programs have been designed and implemented on socially isolated children, however the findings from many studies investigating the effect of social skills interventions are various. The first purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of interventions by using quantitative method of meta-analysis. Second, it was to review a various research in detail. Third, it was to provide the basis of planning a social skills training program. For these purposes, findings from 26 studies investigating the effects of social skills interventions for 624 socially isolated children (5-12 years) were analyzed. The result of this study were the following : The pooled overall mean effect size(ES) was 1.11. On average, the pooled mean effect size(ES) according to the different research variables was large, meaning that the social skills intervention had a great effect and was socially important and necessary for socially isolated children. It would be recommended that social skills programs include appropriate target behaviors through multidisciplinary assessment process. This program should mainly focus on the improvement of prosocial behavior skills as well as reducing problem behaviors. For preschool children, over 50 minutes per session, two to three sessions per week, for a total of total over 20 sessions would be ideal. Posttest and follow-up need to perform for generalization and maintenance. Content of the program should be tailored to the developmental level as well as the interest level of the children.

영아-어머니간의 애착유형과 그 관련변인 (Patterns of Infant-Mother Attachment and Related Variables)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate (1) the relations between infant-mother attachment and maternal sensitivity, maltreatment, stress, and childhood experience, and (2) relations between infant-mother attachment and infant temperament. The subjects of the study were 55 14 to 20 month-old infants (27 boys and 28 girls) and their mothers in Seoul. In order to assess the patterns of infant-mother attachment, each infant-mother dyad was videotaped in the modified Ainsworth's Strange Situation. Each dyad was filmed for 3 minutes in the Questionnaire Situation of Smith and Pederson(Smith, & Pederson, 1988) to assess maternal sensitivity responding to infant's cues. Each mother also was interviewed by using a semi-structured questionnaire made by author to measure maternal maltreatment. Each mother was asked to complete three Likert-type questionnaires, containing Parenting Stress Index (PSI) (Abidin, 1990) to measure the maternal stress, Mother-Father Peer Scale (MFPS) (Epstein, 1983) to measure childhood experience, and Emotionality, Activity, Sociality (EAS) (Buss, & Plomin, 1984) to measure infant's temperament. The statistical procedures used for data analyses were correlation, one-way ANOVA, multiple regression, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient. The results showed that (1) mothers of insecure-avoidant infants maltreated their infants more than mothers of secure infants, and (2) in the multiple regression analysis, maternal maltreatment was predicted by maternal education, maternal stress (parent domain), and maternal childhood experience in relation to her own mother (acceptance vs. rejection).
