부모의 성취지향적 기대와 고등학생의 우울 간 관계에서 교우 관계의 매개효과 (A Mediating Effect of Peer Relations on the Association between Parental Achievement-Oriented Expectation and Depression among High School Students)

  • This study examined the effect of parental achievement-oriented expectation on high school students' depression and verified the mediating effect of peer relations on relations. Data were derived from the 7th wave (2016) of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), and 1,979 high school students were included. Descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and a Sobel test were conducted using STATA. The main results were as follows. First, male adolescents perceived higher parental achievement-oriented expectation, lower peer relations, but lower depression than female adolescents. Second, parental achievement-oriented expectation was negatively related to adolescent peer relations but positively related to adolescent depression. This implies that adolescents whose parents have a higher level of achievement-oriented expectation have lower level of peer relations and higher level of depression. Third, adolescents' peer relations significantly mediated the relation between parental achievement-oriented expectation and high school students' depression. The result of Sobel test supported the significance of the mediating effect. The results highlighted a negative impact of parental achievement-oriented expectation on adolescents' mental health, and addressed how parental achievement-oriented expectation affects adolescents' depression by showing an important mechanism of peer relations, which was missed in previous research.

화교 청소년과 한국 청소년의 학업적 성취동기, 부모 및 교사기대, 자기효능감에 관한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Academic Achievement Motivation, Parental Expectation, Teacher Expectation, and Self-Efficacy of Korean and Chinese-Korean Adolescents)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare Chinese-Korean adolescents' with Korean adolescents's academic achievement motivation, parental expectation, teacher expectation, self-efficacy. The object is 492 students in the middle school 2th and high school 2th grade who are from Chinese-Korean school and Korean school in Seoul and Incheon. The major results of findings were as follows: First, Chinese-Korean adolescents were more high than academic achievement motivation in Korean adolescents. Second, juniors in middle school were more positive than parental expectation in high school. Third, Chinese-Korean adolescents were more positive than teacher expectation in Korean adolescents, and juniors in middle school are more positive than ones in high school. Forth, Chinese-Korean adolescents were more high than self-efficacy in Korean adolescents.

  • 본 연구는 육아예능 프로그램시청이 시청자의 결혼과 가족에 대한 인식에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 <슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다> 시청이 결혼에 대한 기대감(로맨스 기대감, 배우자 기대감), 부모역할 공평성 가치관, 아버지 양육수행 유능감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보며, 동일화갈망의 매개효과도 검증하고자 하였다. 대학생 407명을 대상으로 설문조사한 결과, <슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다> 시청은 로맨스 기대감과 배우자 기대감 모두에 유의미한 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 동일화갈망을 통해 간접적으로도 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. <슈퍼맨이 돌아왔다> 시청은 부모역할 공평성 가치관에는 직접적인 영향을 미치지 못하지만, 동일화갈망을 통해 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 반면, 아버지양육수행 유능감에는 직접적인 영향만을 주었다.

부모들의 보육시설 이용기대와 만족도에 대한 부모-교사간의 지각차이 (Parent-teacher differences in the perception of parental expectation and satisfaction on the use of child care service)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine what parents really want to daycare center and how much they are satisfied with the daycare service they use. This study also explored how exactly daycare teachers recognize the parental needs and satisfaction on daycare service. One hundred and seventy one parents who send their child to a daycare center in Seoul, and one hundred and thirty five teachers from the same daycare centers participated in this study. Parents were asked about their needs and expectation on daycare service and the degree of satisfaction on the daycare center (including educational facilities, teacher's role, specific programs, etc.). Teachers provided answers about their understanding on what the parents want and how much parents are satisfied with their daycare center. Results revealed that parents are generally satisfied with the daycare service such as educational programs and educational facilities and teachers' role conducting. However, some parent-teacher differences were found in their perception on the levels and domains of parental expectation and satisfaction with daycare service. The parent-teacher differences would give very practical tips for teachers, who plan and conduct everyday daycare programs and actually interact with children in the setting for better daycare service.

맞벌이 부부의 부모역할 공평성 가치관 및 아버지의 양육수행유능감과 양육수행 (A Study on Fair Parental Role Model of Dual Earner Couples, their Expectation for Parental Nursing Capability and Real Nursing Practices)

  • This study aims to explore the variable factors by which fathers affect nursing practices. for this study 544 married couples were interviewed, which resulted in the following conclusions. First, wives have higher fairness than husbands in sharing their parental roles. Second, in some couples, there was a difference seen in the expectations of each parents nursing capability, but rarely were differences in real nursing practices actually observed. Third, all couples interviewed showed some disparity between their expectations of parental nursing capability and their real nursing practices, where the expectations for nursing capability were higher than the real nursing practices. Fourth, higher expectations for nursing capabilities from fathers result in them having better parental roles. Fifth, there is no correlation between parental nursing practices and social demographic variables. Lastly, the impacts on the parental nursing practices are ranked by relative importance as parental nursing capability, the wife's expectation for parental nursing capability and so on.

부모의 양육행동, 남녀 아동의 완벽주의 및 성취동기간의 관계 (The Relationship among Parenting Behaviors, Children's Perfectionism and Achievement Motivation)

  • This study examined the relationship among parenting behaviors, children's perfectionism and achievement motivation, using a sample of 338 fifth and sixth graders. The participants completed questionnaires on parenting behaviors and their perfectionism and achievement motivation. Data were analyzed by factor analyses and multiple regression analysis. Both boys and girls had higher achievement motivation when they perceived higher parental levels of acceptance, and girls showed higher achievement motivation when they perceived higher maternal control/over-expectation. Boys who exhibited self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism and girls who exhibited self-oriented perfectionism showed higher achievement motivation. Boys had higher self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism when perceiving higher parental acceptance and control/over-expectation. Girls showed higher self-oriented perfectionism when perceiving higher parental acceptance and control/over-expectation, and they showed higher socially prescribed perfectionism when perceiving higher paternal control/over-expectation and maternal acceptance and control/over-expectation. It was revealed that both boys' and girls' perfectionism tended to play mediating roles between parenting behaviors and achievement motivation.

청소년들의 부모애착이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향: 부모의 학업기대와 낙관성의 매개효과 (Influence of Parental Attachment on Learning Flow: Mediating Effects of Parental Academic Expectation and Optimism in Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 청소년들이 지각한 부모애착이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향에서 부모의 지지적 학업기대와 청소년의 낙관성의 매개효과를 융합적으로 검증하고자 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 서울특별시에 소재한 중 고등학교 학생 184명이었다. 연구결과, 첫째, 학업기대와 낙관성은 부모애착과 학습몰입 간의 관계에서 완전 매개효과를 보였다. 간접효과의 유의성을 Bootstrapping 방법으로 분석한 결과, 부모의 학업기대와 청소년의 낙관성을 통한 간접효과는 모두 통계적으로 유의하였다. 둘째, 학업기대와 낙관성의 간접효과 간의 차이를 Bootstrapping 방법으로 분석한 결과 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 부모와의 건강한 애착 관계는 부모의 지지적 기대를 증가시키고, 청소년들에게는 낙관성을 증진시켜, 효율적인 학습을 위한 학습몰입을 향상시키는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, 청소년의 학습몰입을 증진시키기 위한 부모와 자녀의 역할과 기대에 대해 논의하였다.

어린이집 이용 부모의 역할 책임에 대한 부모의 인식과 실행 차이 (Differences Between Parental Perceptions and Practices of Parental Role Responsibilities for Children Enrolled in Preschools)

  • Objective: This study aims to examine the level of parental perceptions and practices on parental role responsibilities for children enrolled in preschools and to verify the differences. Methods: A total of 301 parents whose children were attending preschools participated in this study. The collected data were analyzed for frequency, factor analysis, and reliability. In addition, the t-test and the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) were performed. Results: First, there are relatively high levels of perception and practices of parental role responsibilities. Second, parental perception of parental role responsibilities is higher than the level of actual performance. Third, although parents were highly aware of their role responsibilities, there is a great expectation of the role of preschools for the development of the social competence of children. Fourth, parents value the level of practice of role responsibilities in preschools relatively high. Conclusion/Implications: Support systems are needed to reduce the gap between parental perception and practice of their role responsibilities for children enrolled in preschools.

아동의 공격행동에 따른 결과예상에 대한 연구 (Sex Differences in Children's Anticipation of the Consequences of Aggression)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate sex differences in outcome expectation for aggression, and to study the effects of sex of target child and degree of provocation on the consequences that a child anticipates for aggression. The subjects were 30 boys and 30 girls in the 6th grade of a public elementary school located in Seoul. The children were tested individually by an adult who read the items to the child. Perry, Perry, and Weiss's Outcome Expectation Questionnaire, The modified consisting of 48 items was used in this study. The data were analysed by analyses of variance with repeated measures and t-test. Boys expected less guilt and negative self-reactions for aggression than girls. When provoked, children expected more tangible reward and less parental disapproval than when not provoked. When aggressing toward boys, children expected more tangible rewards, less parental disapproval, and less peer disapproval than when aggressing toward girls.

비수도권 출신 예비 사회진출자의 졸업 후 주거 및 경제적 지원에 대한 기대 (Expectations on Post-college Housing and Parental Supports of Workforce Entry Preparers from Non-Capital Regions)

  • The purpose of the study was to explore expectations of workforce entry preparers from non-capital regions on post-college housing and financial support from their parents. From July 26 to August 8, 2013, an on-line questionnaire survey was conducted to juniors and seniors in colleges nationwide and 692 useable responses were collected from college students who were from non-capital regions. Findings from this study are summarized as follows: (1) About 44% of the respondents expected to live apart from their parents and other relatives within two years from their college graduation and 48% of them expected to live in Seoul Metropolitan Area; (2) among those who expected to live apart from their parents and other relatives, 61% expected to be monthly renters; 75% expected to live in small-sized units such as studios; 85% expected parental support to afford post-college housing costs; (3) female respondents, younger respondents and/or respondents with a greater parent income showed more stronger expectation on parental support to afford housing costs; and (4) most respondents perceived influence of housing cost burden strong enough to affect their job choices.
