  • Eight of the individuals had a unilateral S-RAD TKA and Multi-Radius TKA ($Scorpio^{TM}$ PS, Howmedica-Osteonics, Inc.). The instrument were used Peak Motion Measurement $System^{TM}$, $MYOPAC^{TM}$EMG System, KIN-COM $III^{TM}$ System. The Figure 3 shows that the average time for the S-RAD group to accomplish the sit-to-stand movement was 1.59 s, which was 0.19 s less than the M-RAD group (p= 0.033). In Figure 5, the S-RAD TKA group tended to have $7^{\Omega}{\cdot}S^{-1}$ less trunk flexion velocity than that of the M-RAD group (p= 0.058). The Figure 6 shows that the S-RAD TKA limb tended to have less ADD displacement (p = 0.071) than that of the M-RAD TKA limb. We failed to find significant differences for ABD and ADD displacements between the S-RAD and M-RAD N-TKA limbs (p= 0.128 and 0.457, respectively). The VM of the S-RAD TKA limb demonstrated significant less RMS EMG than that of the M-RAD TKA limb from $60^{\Omega}$ to $15^{\Omega}$ of knee flexion (p 0.05). The VL of the S-RAD TKA limb also demonstrated significant less RMS EMG than that of the M-RAD TKA limb from $60^{\Omega}$ to $45^{\Omega}$ of knee flexion (p 0.05). Similar to the VM and VL, the RF of the S-RAD TKA limb showed less RMS EMG than that of the M-RAD TKA limb from $60^{\Omega}$ to $30^{\Omega}$ of knee flexion (p 0.05).

  • We investigated the feasibility of parylene F usage as an intermediate layer between a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate and an Au thin-film interconnect as well as the swelling effect of PDMS substrate on the stretchable deformability of an Au thin film. The 150-nm-thick Au film, which was sputtered on a PDMS substrate without a parylene F layer, exhibited an initial resistance of $11.7{\Omega}$ and an overflow of its resistance at a tensile strain of 12.5%. On the other hand, the Au film, which was formed with a 150-nm-thick parylene F layer, revealed an much improved resistance characteristics: $1.21{\Omega}$ as its initial resistance and $246{\Omega}$ at its 30% elongation state. With swelling of PDMS substrate, the resistance of an Au film substantially decreased to $14.4{\Omega}$ at 30% tensile strain.

  • This study measured the vitality of Pinus densiflora and Ginko biloba and analyzed the differences of vitality levels among trees based on artificial management. Research has shown that the mean value of cambial electrical resistance (CER) on Pinus densiflora was $14.9K{\Omega}$(between $8.5{\sim}37.5K{\Omega}$), and for Ginko biloba it was $13.5K{\Omega}$ (between 6.4 and $40.5K{\Omega}$). For the purpose of artificial management, over 50% of trees were covered up with soil and about 40% of trees were not protected by fence to enable growth spaces. It was seen that the CER of trees covered up with soil was significantly higher than that of trees which were not covered up with soil. These results indicate that it is necessary to remove the soil covering for effective management of monumental trees.

  • In this study mathematical properties of variational solution and solution of the boundary integral equation of the linear elasticity problem are studied. It is first reviewed that a variational solution for the three-dimensional linear elasticity problem exists in the Sobolev space [ $H^{1}$(.OMEGA.)]$^{3}$ and, then, it is shown that a unique solution of the boundary integral equation is identical to the variational solution in [ $H^{1}$(.OMEGA.)]$^{3}$. To represent the boundary integral equation, the Green's formula in the Sobolev space is utilized on the solution domain excluding a ball, with small radius .rho., centered at the point where the point load is applied. By letting .rho. tend to zero, it is shown that, for the linear elasticity problem, boundary integral equation is valid for the variational solution. From this fact, one can obtain a numerical approximatiion of the variational solution by the boundary element method even when the classical solution does not exist.exist.

  • Vinylbenzyl triphenyl phosphonium chloride(VTPC)/styrenes=3.7 copolymer was prepared for the moisture-absorptive polyelectrolyte dew sensor containing phosphonium salts. The humid membrane was fabricated on the gold/alumina electrode by dipping. The impedances were $11M{\Omega}$, $980k{\Omega}$, $50k{\Omega}$, and $11k{\Omega}$ at 70%RH, 80%RH, 90%RH and 95%RH, respectively, at $25^{\circ}C$ and the humidity-sensitive charactristic was suitable for the dew sensor. The temperature-dependent coefficient between $15^{\circ}C$ and $35^{\circ}C$ was found to be $-0.25%RH/^{\circ}C$ and the hysteresis falled in the ${\pm}2%RH$ range. The response time was found to be 45 sec for the relative humidity ranging from 70%RH to 98%RH at $25^{\circ}C$. The reliabilities such as temperature cycle, humidity cycle, high temperature and humidity resistance, electrical load stability, stability of long-term storage and water durability were measured and evaluated for the application as a dew sensor.

  • Nitroalcohols were prepared by a substitution reaction from the corresponding bromoalcohols. The second nitro group was introduced via different methods depending on the carbon chain length. 3,3-Dinitro-1-propanol was obtained by an intramolecular varient of the alkaline nitration method. Whereas 5,5-dinitro-1-pentanol was given by the catalytic oxidative nitration. 3,3-Dinitro-1-propanol and 5,5-dinitro-1-pentanol were converted to 3,3-dinitro-1,6-hexanediol and 4,4-dinitro-1,8-octanediol via Michael reaction with acrolein followed by the reduction of the resulting aldehydes. Acetyl group was a good protecting group for the substitution reaction while THP was for the catalytic oxidative nitration.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce and discuss the concept of ${\omega}$-Chebyshev subspaces in Banach spaces. The concept of quasi Chebyshev in Banach space is defined. We show that ${\omega}$-Chebyshevity of subspaces are a new class in approximation theory. In this paper, also we consider orthogonality in normed spaces.

  • The 2D g-Navier-Stokes equations are a certain modified Navier-Stokes equations and have the following form, $$\frac{{\partial}u}{{\partial}t}-{\nu}{\Delta}u+(u{\cdot}{\nabla})u+{\nabla}p=f$$, in ${\Omega}$ with the continuity equation ${\nabla}{\cdot}(gu)=0$, in ${\Omega}$, where g is a suitable smooth real valued function. In this paper, we will derive 2D g-Navier-Stokes equations from 3D Navier-Stokes equations. In addition, we will see the relationship between two equations.

  • ω-left-symmetric algebras contain left-symmetric algebras as a subclass and the commutator defines an ω-Lie algebra. In this paper, we classify ω-left-symmetric algebras in dimension 3 up to an isomorphism based on the classification of ω-Lie algebras and the technique of Lie algebras.
