  • This study was conducted to investigate adolescents' body size and their concerns and perceptions about body image. Group means of heights and weights were 171.5cm and 60.3kg for boys and 159.3cm and 52.3Kg for girls. Body Mass Index(BMI) of the subjects were 20.5 for boys and 20.6 for girls. Only 11.5$\%$ of subjects were overweight or obese, however 42.5% of subjects had experienced weight control, and the main reason for weight control was to lose weight(80.6$\%$). In concern for body image and frequency of eating distrubance ; females had more concern than males, the group who had attempted weight control had more concern than those who had not, and the group who were overweight had more concern than those who were under and normal weight. In perception about body image, using a set of nine figure drawings arranged from very thin to very heavy figures, subjects rated their current figure, considered figure(how they appeared to others), ideal figure, and attractive figure. For boys, the current, ideal, and most attractive figures were almost identical, but for girls, the ideal figure was significantly thinner than current figure and attractive figure was significantly thinner than current figure. The greater the preference for thinner figure as idal and attractive figure, the higher the concern for body image and frequency of eating distrubance. Thus it seems that a distorted perception of ideal body size affects adolescents' concern for body image and eating behaviors.

  • A Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) is a graph-based data structure that calculates an exact top event probability (TEP). It has been a very difficult task to develop an efficient BDD algorithm that can solve a large problem since its memory consumption is very high. Recently, in order to solve a large reliability problem within limited computational resources, Jung presented an efficient method to maintain a small BDD size by a BDD truncation during a BDD calculation. In this paper, it is first identified that Jung's BDD truncation algorithm can be improved for a more practical use. Then, a more efficient truncation algorithm is proposed in this paper, which can generate truncated BDD with smaller size and approximate TEP with smaller truncation error. Empirical results showed this new algorithm uses slightly less running time and slightly more storage usage than Jung's algorithm. It was also found, that designing a truncation algorithm with ideal features for every possible fault tree is very difficult, if not impossible. The so-called ideal features of this paper would be that with the decrease of truncation limits, the size of truncated BDD converges to the size of exact BDD, but should never be larger than exact BDD.

  • In this paper, we study the basic theory of the category of graded w-Noetherian modules over a graded ring R. Some elementary concepts, such as w-envelope of graded modules, graded w-Noetherian rings and so on, are introduced. It is shown that: (1) A graded domain R is graded w-Noetherian if and only if Rg𝔪 is a graded Noetherian ring for any gr-maximal w-ideal m of R, and there are only finite numbers of gr-maximal w-ideals including a for any nonzero homogeneous element a. (2) Let R be a strongly graded ring. Then R is a graded w-Noetherian ring if and only if Re is a w-Noetherian ring. (3) Let R be a graded w-Noetherian domain and let a ∈ R be a homogeneous element. Suppose 𝖕 is a minimal graded prime ideal of (a). Then the graded height of the graded prime ideal 𝖕 is at most 1.

  • Purpose: In an attempt to investigate the ideal body image, body importance and body satisfaction by gender role identity, this study was carried out in male college students. Methods: The subjects were 323 male college students in all of Korea except Jeju province. The data was collected by using the questionnaires, Korean Sex Role Inventory and modified Multidimensional Body-Self Questionnaire. Results: Normal shape ranked first as ideal body image in all 4 types of gender role identity. Androgyny, femininity and masculinity type were significantly higher than undifferentiated type in body importance. And androgyny and masculinity type were significantly higher than femininity and undifferentiated type in body satisfaction. Conclusion: Androgyny and masculinity type were positively related to self body image, but undifferentiated type was negatively related to compared with androgyny and masculinity type. And to reinforce androgyny and masculinity in male college students, various programs should be developed.

  • The purpose of the this article was to determine the ideal Korean phonemes for the mandibular rest position. The subjects were 30 dentists and dental students who had normal occlusion and speech patterns. To determine the amount of mandibular opening, MKG was used for this study. The results were as follows: 1. The average mandibular rest position of Korean were -0.75(0.55)mm in horizontal plot (X), and -1.21(0.54) mm in vertical plot (Y). 2. The ideal medial sounds for the mandibular rest position were '으', '우' and '이'. 3. The ideal Korean consonants for the mandibular rest position were affricatives (ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅉ) and fricatives (ㅅ, ㅆ), vowels were back closed vowels (ㅡ, ㅜ). 4. The last consonants were affected by the proceeding vowels. 5. In Korean, the vowels were the most important factors that determine the rest position of mandible.

  • The purpose of this study was to test the statistical significance of Ideal Acceptable Compromise and determine the range of their use according to the Steiner's analysis. 56 adults male and 62 adults female ranging in age from 18 to 20 years with normal occlusion were studied and analyzed statistically. The results were as follows; 1. The authors obtained the ANB range values and ideal acceptable compromise. 2. Simple correlation coefficients of each variables used in the ideal acceptable compromise were obtained. 3. It is most valid that use the ANB angle as a dependent variable among the five variables. 4. In the multiple regression equations, the rank of significant variables were 1 to NA(angle), I to NA(mm), 1 to NB (mm) in male group, and 1 to NA (angle), 1 to NB (angle), 1 to NA (mm), 1 to NB (mm) in female group when ANB angle was used as a dependent variables.

  • In this paper, the concepts of ω-linked homomorphisms, the ω𝜙-operation, and DW𝜙 rings are introduced. Also the relationships between ω𝜙-ideals and ω-ideals over a ω-linked homomorphism 𝜙 : R → T are discussed. More precisely, it is shown that every ω𝜙-ideal of T is a ω-ideal of T. Besides, it is shown that if T is not a DW𝜙 ring, then T must have an infinite number of maximal ω𝜙-ideals. Finally we give an application of Cohen's Theorem over ω-factor rings, namely it is shown that an integral domain R is an SM-domain with ω-dim(R) ≤ 1, if and only if for any nonzero ω-ideal I of R, (R/I)ω is an Artinian ring, if and only if for any nonzero element α ∈ R, (R/(a))ω is an Artinian ring, if and only if for any nonzero element α ∈ R, R satisfies the descending chain condition on ω-ideals of R containing a.

  • We show that R[X] is a Krull (Resp. factorial) ring if and only if R is a normal Krull (resp, factorial) ring with a finite number of minimal prime ideals if and only if R is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring with a finite number of minimal prime ideals and R(sub)M is an integral domain for every maximal ideal M of R. As a corollary, we have that if R[X] is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring and if D is a Krull (resp. factorial) overring of R, then D[X] is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring.
