  • In this paper, we describe the problems which can happen during multi-tasking process in the Windows operating system (OS) environment. To cope with the problems, multiple-windows manager program is proposed in this paper. If we use the proposed multiple-windows manager program with three virtual screen, we can obtain the effect like using four Windows OS and thus we can improve the tardy speed and the high complexity for multi-tasking process.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest ways on reducing the cooling and heating energy cost of the officetel building with the multiple glazing windows according to Life Cycle Costing. This study consisted of an hour-by hour energy simulation program and further data from the EnergyPlus V1-2-2 to the four pane type windows that were applied with 2 low-e polyester film and krypton gas to the officetel model building. It was determined that the four panes type windows that had 2 low-e polyester film and krypton gas applied to, them showed a cooling and heating cost reduction over traditional double glazed windows that were filled with air. According to this study, as well as the information from chart 4.5 and the LCC it was determined that the present value of the four panes of windows that had 2 low-e polyester film and krypton gas applied to them showed. a 11.4% reduction in heating and cooling in comparison to the traditional double glazed windows that were filled with air.

  • One common roadblock to innovation is the inability to define the problem that needs to be solved. Main contributors to this situation are the complexity of real field and the psychological inertia. 9-Windows can help break the complexity and the psychological inertia. In this article, we attempt to propose how to link resources to space and time framework through 9-Windows. Also, we propose how to use the 9-Windows to find multiple perspectives and explore solutions to a problem. This research is expected to be a vehicle to make an effective use of 9-Windows along with TRIZ, SIT, CT, FMEA and QFD.

  • In recent years, falls among elderly people have gained serious attention as a major cause of injuries. Falls often lead to fatal consequences due to lack of prompt response and rescue. Therefore, a more accurate fall detection system and an effective feature extraction technique are required to prevent and reduce the risk of such incidents. In this paper, we proposed an efficient feature extraction technique based on multiple sliding windows and validated it through a series of experiments using supervised learning algorithms. The experiments were conducted using the public datasets obtained from tri-axial accelerometers. The results depicted that extraction of the feature from adjacent sliding windows led to high accuracy in supervised machine learning-based fall detection. Also, the experiments conducted in this study suggested that the best accuracy can be achieved by keeping the window size as small as 2 seconds. With the kNN classifier and dataset from wearable sensors, the experiments achieved accuracy rates of 94%.

  • In this paper, new algorithms for solving the multiple traveling salesman problem with time windows are presented. These algorithms are based on the flow based algorithms for solving the vehicle scheduling problem. Computational results on problems up to 750 customers indicate that these algorithms produce superior results to existing heuristic algorithms for solving the vehicle routing problems when the time windows are 'tight enough' where 'tight enough' is based on a metric proposed by desrosiers et al.(1987).

  • In this paper we propose a simple efficient stereo matching algorithm to recover sharp object boundaries and to obtain dense disparity map using new multiple line shape windows. To this end, we consider left-right consistency and unique constraint. From the experimental results it is found that the proposed algorithm is very good for obtaining sharp and dense disparity maps for stereo image pairs.

  • The pre-processor for finite to element structural analysis considering the user-friendly device is developed by using GUI. This can be used on WINDOWS' environment which is realized the multi-tasking and the concurrency by object-oriented paradigm. Data input can be done easily through menu, dialog box, automatic stepwise input and concurrent representation with the structural geometry on multiple windows. It in designed to control integratedly the pre-processing, execution and the post-processing of the finite element structural analysis program on multiple windows, and input data can be seen with result outputs at the same time. In addition, the object-oriented programming environment makes convenient revision and addition of the program components for expanding the scope of analysis and making better user environment.

  • Objective: This study compared five distinct sets of biological pathways and associated genes related to semen volume (VOL), number of sperm (NS), and sperm motility (MOT) in the Thai multibreed dairy population. Methods: The phenotypic data included 13,533 VOL records, 12,773 NS records, and 12,660 MOT records from 131 bulls. The genotypic data consisted of 76,519 imputed and actual single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from 72 animals. The SNP additive genetic variances for VOL, NS, and MOT were estimated for SNP windows of one SNP (SW1), ten SNP (SW10), 30 SNP (SW30), 50 SNP (SW50), and 100 SNP (SW100) using a single-step genomic best linear unbiased prediction approach. The fixed effects in the model were contemporary group, ejaculate order, bull age, ambient temperature, and heterosis. The random effects accounted for animal additive genetic effects, permanent environment effects, and residual. The SNPs explaining at least 0.001% of the additive genetic variance in SW1, 0.01% in SW10, 0.03% in SW30, 0.05% in SW50, and 0.1% in SW100 were selected for gene identification through the NCBI database. The pathway analysis utilized genes associated with the identified SNP windows. Results: Comparison of overlapping and non-overlapping SNP windows revealed notable differences among the identified pathways and genes associated with the studied traits. Overlapping windows consistently yielded a larger number of shared biological pathways and genes than non-overlapping windows. In particular, overlapping SW30 and SW50 identified the largest number of shared pathways and genes in the Thai multibreed dairy population. Conclusion: This study yielded valuable insights into the genetic architecture of VOL, NS, and MOT. It also highlighted the importance of assessing overlapping and non-overlapping SNP windows of various sizes for their effectiveness to identify shared pathways and genes influencing multiple traits.

  • An active research area in computer vision, stereo matching is aimed at obtaining three-dimensional (3D) information from a stereo image pair captured by a stereo camera. To extract accurate 3D information, a number of studies have examined stereo matching algorithms that employ adaptive support weight. Among them, the adaptive census transform (ACT) algorithm has yielded a relatively strong matching capability. The drawbacks of the ACT, however, are that it produces low matching accuracy at the border of an object and is vulnerable to noise. To mitigate these drawbacks, this paper proposes and analyzes the features of an improved stereo matching algorithm that not only enhances matching accuracy but also is also robust to noise. The proposed algorithm, based on the ACT, adopts the truncated absolute difference and the multiple sparse windows method. The experimental results show that compared to the ACT, the proposed algorithm reduces the average error rate of depth maps on Middlebury dataset images by as much as 2% and that is has a strong robustness to noise.
