  • This study analyzed aspects of multiple intelligences related to rhythm, melody, understanding and representation of traditional Korean music. Subjects were 60 4-to 6-years-old children. Instruments were the Children's Korean Traditional Music (KTM) Ability Test (Park 2006)and Korean Multiple Intelligence Development Assessment Scale-My Young Child (MIDAS-MYC, Shearer, 1996). Data were analyzed by correlations and t-test. Findings were that (1) average scores on KTM rhythm and understandings were higher than melody and representation. (2) Traditional rhythm ability correlated most with linguistic intelligence. (3) Multiple intelligences by representation ability for KTM differed significantly in Linguistic intelligence and relationships to Naturalist, Musical, Logical-mathematical, Interpersonal, and Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligences.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the quality of life reported by patients with multiple myeloma and secondly to identify the factors that impact the quality of life (QoL). Methods: 189 patients with multiple myeloma completed survey questionnaires. Quality of life was evaluated using European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core (EORTC QLQ-C) 30 and Multiple Myeloma (MY) 20. The data were analyzed using the t-test, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, Duncan test and the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The mean score for each subscale of EORTC QLQ-C30 was 53.35 for global health status, 73.37 for functional scale, and 31.29 for symptom scale. The mean score for each subscale of EORTC QLQ-MY20 was 60.49 for future perspective, 59.78 for body image, 20.25 for disease symptom and 24.99 for side effect of treatment. Quality of life was reported to be significantly lower among females, unemployed, dependence on a sibling for financial support for treatment, a diagnosis of anemia, having treatment, high score on Eastern Coorperative Oncology Group and high grade peripheral neuropathy. Conclusion: The results of the survey can identify characteristics impacting the QoL of patients with multiple myeloma. Developing appropriate educational strategies and nursing interventions would enhance their QoL.

  • ROTC is the system that selects the best students in university and implements the military training of two years and uses them as beginning commander of the army by commissioning as officers. ROTC makes up a very large portion of the army and society in Korea in terms of the size and role. Therefore, it is very important to enhance intangible combat power of the Korean army by improving leadership of primary grade officer from ROTC. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether or not ROTC candidate training program is providing the right training, so as to improve ROTC's leadership and present improvement plan. First, we divide ROTC candidate training program into three areas and take the 1st and 2nd survey. Then we compare and analyze the actual condition and recognition of investigation using statistical analysis methods such as chi-square test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test. Also, we analyze the element affecting the army leader's three qualities formation which are basic elements of ROTC cadet's leadership using multiple regression analysis.

  • A procedure presented in this paper greerates test squences to check the conformity of an implementation wihh a protocol specification which is moedled as a determinstic fimite state machine(FSM).We proposed a tech-nique to determine a minium-cost tour of the transition graph of the FSM..The technique using Multiple UIO and Shortest Path(MUSP) sabes the cost 1-9% over MUIO and directly, derive a symertric test graph from an FSM graph From this fact, we proposed a tecuque using Multiple Sate Suganture(MUSS) to solve an open issue that the multiple UIO assignment may not minimize the lengy of the tour.In this paper, the proposed techique is also, applied to generate a synchronizable test wequence. And the result shows that the techique using MUSP anhd MUSS saves the cost 7-29% and 7-42% over the previous approach using MUIO, respect-ively.

  • In this paepr, we show that the length of the test sequence can be reduced using non-minimal multiple UIO instead of minimal multiple UIO. Our test sequence generation method starts from the observation that Shen's approach cannot optimize the length of the test sequence whtn the difference between the number of incoming edge and that of outgoing edge is large. Usig the property, we propse a more efficient method to generate a UIO-based test sequence in terms of the length, and compares our method with other existing methods in terms of execution time for comformancetesting and time for generation of test sequence.

  • In this study a safety evaluation method is presented for a ADAS vehicle to be tested in collision situation when multiple vehicles are present on a single lane. Test scenarios are developed based on Euro-NCAP assessment scenarios, accident database and related simulation results in previous works. An automated evaluation system that is called as the K-target mover is used for active safety evaluation experiments. The experiments are conducted with two types of tests. First, the rear-end collision tests with 25% and 50% overlap for the test vehicle and target vehicle are conducted with the two kinds of test vehicles. On the other hand, the rear-end collision tests which include multiple vehicles in a single lane with 25% and 50% overlaps, are also conducted. Experimental results show that the test vehicles with ADAS cannot recognize the collision situation sometimes in the developed test scenarios, even in the case that the test vehicle showed stable performance in the simple overlap scenarios.

  • Polysomnography is used to diagnose many types of sleep disorders including sleep apnea, periodic limb movement disorder, REM sleep behavior disorder, parasomnias, and narcolepsy. It is a comprehensive recording of the biophysiological changes that occur during sleep. The polysomnography monitors many body functions parameters including EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory airflow, respiratory effort, and pulse oximetry during sleep. Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) is performed for diagnosing narcolepsy and excessive daytime sleepiness. It is usually to be done after an overnight polysomnography. The test consists of four or five 20-minute nap opportunities that are scheduled two hours apart.

  • Before avionics equipment are installed in aircraft, several environmental tests such as temperature, vibration, lightning, fire etc. must be conducted. One of the environmental tests is to substantiate protection designs of lightning indirect effect. It can be showed through RTCA DO-160G, section22 "Lightning Induced Transient Susceptibility" test. An additional test of aircraft level is required as well after installation of avionics equipment.

  • The evaluation of diagnostic tests attempts to obtain one or more statistical parameters which can indicate the intrinsic diagnostic utility of a test. Sensitivity. specificity and predictive value are not appropriate for this use. The likelihood ratio has been proposed as a useful measure when using a test to diagnose one of two disease states (e.g. disease present or absent). In this paper, we generalize the likelihood ratio concept to a situation in which the goal is to diagnose one of several non-overlapping disease states. A formula is derived to determine the post-test probability of a specific disease state. The post-test odds are shown to be related to the pre-test odds of a disease and to the usual likelihood ratios derived from considering the diagnosis between the target diagnosis and each alternate in turn. Hence, likelihood ratios derived from comparing pairs of diseases can be used to determine test utility in a multiple disease diagnostic situation.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the strength and weakness of intelligences appeared by the profile of multiple intelligences of the mathematical gifted children and their parents. The subjects of this study were 73 students and 73 their parents from D-Education Center for Gifted Children. Their multiple intelligences were measured by a self-scaling test of Korean-Multiple Intelligence Development Assessment Scale, at July in 2009. The conclusions of this study are as follows: The strengths of multiple intelligences of the gifted children in mathematics are logical-mathematical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence. And, the weakness of multiple intelligences of the gifted in elementary mathematics is bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. This result is similarly in their parents' self-scaling test of KMIDAS. Therefore, formal educational curriculum of the gifted in elementary mathematics is required which can stimulate all kinds of intelligences.
