Therefore this study has been focused on its programs, land uses, roads and facilities how to activate it. The plan orientation of it is to make and become active by tourists to visit this village to experience the rural and mountainous living culture. So the general plan is divided into two zone which are the rural experience zone and the mountainous experience zone. And it is necessary for the conversion as a tour place of sojourn and experience by supplying with various shows through connections with surrounding tour resources worthy of providing the various excitement through the visiting.
Although there have been carrying out various rural development projects related with village road improvement, most of village roads in Korea are under much poor condition. However, until now, their actual conditions have not been surveyed at all. So, this study aimed at analysing the actual conditions and characteristics of rural village roads in the general terms to provide the basic information for the proper improvement policy-making. Case study villages were chosen in flat/mountainous/seashore/suburban areas, which be then classified as improved and not. In terms of road length per household, mountainous villages are highly dispersed and suburban ones moderately dispersed, while flat ones aggregated. Road widths in seashore/suburban/structure improved villages are narrower than flat/mountainous ones. Because about a quarter of road sites are registered as non-road, more positive scheme for transferring non-road sites into road ones.
The purpose of this study is to analyse the change and characteristic of agricultural land use for the mountainous village which was linked to the development of arable land in the historic process as the case study on Yowon-village, Gyeongbuk province. The findings are summarized as fellows. First, most of arable land development had been developed from the late 16th century to the late 19th century and in the 1960s. A rice field was developed at the valley containing water resource and a dry field at the land close to a village before 1960 and at the gently sloped and wide hill after 1960. Second, the crops cultivated before the introduction of commercial agriculture were potato, foxtail millet, bean. After the 1970s, The vegetable, red pepper, tobacco were commercially cultivated. Third, the main group of land use change(choice of crops) result from effort of the inhabitant The significance of this study are as follows, explaining the change and characteristic of agriculture land use for the mountainous village which was linked to the development of arable land, studying as the case on small-scale village.

This paper compares the difference between the village groves in the Jinan settlement region and the Hamyang settlment region in Honam and the Youngnam mountainous region. The results are as follows: Fifty-one village groves in the Jinan legion were found and 40 village groves were found in the Hamyang region. It was established that the village groves in the Jinan region of Honam province were conserved better than those of Hamyang region of Youngnam province. In the Jinan area, the village groves were principally found in the Jinan-eup and the Hamyang regions, primarily in Seosang-myun and Aneui-myun. So it was determined that the village groves were distributed inequitably in the two regions. In L / W ratio, the Jinan region is 3.6 and Hamyang region is 2.0 Jinan is 1.8 times greater than Hamyang. Therefore, it was concluded that Jinan is stronger than Hamyang in linear function of the village groves. Stone stooge for complementation function was found in 11 village groves in the Jinan region and 6 village groves in Hamyang. So the percentage of the remaining stone storage is 15-20 % of all village groves. Regarding grove makeup, the village gloves in Jinan region is deciduous forest principally. In contrast, the groves of Hamyang are principally coniferous forest. The dominant tree of the Jinan-gun region is Zelkova serrata, but in Hamyang it is Pinus densiflrora. By number, Hamyang region has two times the trees than Jinan region. In density of stand, the Hamyang region is 76.2% higher than Jinan region. In height and diameter of trees, the Jinan region is greater than the Hamyang region. It was identified that RSI of both region is 40%. So in density of trees, both region are sparse. This paper has a limit in ideiltiting the differences between Yolmg-nam ar\ulcorner Hnam village groves because comparative review only examined two regions.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the formation process and spatial structure of the mountainous village in the historic process as the case study on Yowon-village, Gyeongbuk province. The findings are summarized as the follows. The traditional location of the Yowon mountain village has been strongly influenced by local topology, drinking water, the form and time of the early setters. The spatial structure of the village was changed by the construction of road and accessibility to the road after the introduction of commercial agriculture. The form of the village consists of small scale of concentrated villages and dispersed. villages. Specifically, Yowon 1 ri has been restructured as a small scale of concentrated village and Yowon 2 ri as a dispersed one. The facilities both located in the center of the traditional village and related to communal life were moved outside while those for commercial agriculture were located in the center of the village. In sum, the village had been traditionally life-oriented and closed, but it was production-oriented and open particularly after the introduction of commercial agriculture.
The purpose of the study was to define the labor change in the moutainous villages, So this study analyzed the mass dram of the population from the mountainous villages created by the unequal development between the first and second under the high economic development and the large difference in the income between city and rural area. The content of the study was (1) the foundation of the production in the survey area (2) labor change in the mountainous villages (3) the supply and the demand of the labor in this area. The date were collected from 118 household of 2 villages (one with a high level of brest product, and the other with a low level of forest products) in Cheon-nam Province through a questionarie. The results of the study were as follows. 1. The mass drain in the mountainous villages started in the middle of 1970's, and the rate of drain has been very rapid and accelerated. 2. The drain of the mountainous village with a low level of forest products is more than that of the mountainous village with a high level of forest products. 3. In the mountainous village with high level of forest products, the specialization in the farmer class has begun and the farmers with a side job are now increasing. 4. Generally the major drain consisted of the young class (16-30 age), and consequently it caused a change in the composition of labor power into old age and women. 5. The character of the forest labor market is how changing from closed to open.

A case study was conducted in two rural villages of Nakatsu-Mura in Wakayama-Prefecture, Japan. The settlement environment was evaluated from the point of view of the local residents, and the expectation of the local residents about the regional revitalization of their village in the future was assessed. From the analysis, each factor used far the assessment displayed characteristics of the two rural villages well. This paper reviews the difference between the selected village groves and seaside groves in Chonbuk-Do province. In Chonbuk-Do province, village groves were principally found in the east mountainous region and seaside groves were found only in the south seaside. The village groves were located in the roadside and village entrance, but seaside groves were located in the front of crop land for the purpose of windbreak. The planting motive of village groves was historical and cultural background, but that of seaside groves was protection of cropland and village from strong wind. The form of village groves was various, but that of seaside groves was linear and rectangular. Both were small scale in comparison with other province. Both were formed on the slopeless land. In ownership, the rate of seaside groes owned by the slf governing body is higher than village groves. Billage groves were almostly owned by village. In vegetatioin structure, both were one class forest composed of only tall tree of upper class. Principal dominent species of seaside groves in upper tree was Pinus thunbergii, but those of village groves were Pinus densiflora, Carpinus tschonoskii, Zelkova serrata etc. Seaside groves were not growing normally in aspect of height and breast diameter of tree in comparison with village groves. The planting density of seaside groves was 3.7 times higher than village groves in Chonbuk-Do province.
This paper reviews the differences between the selected village groves and the selected roadside groves. In Chonbuk province, the village groves were principally found in the east mountainous region and roadside groves were principally found in the west low-sloped region. They were located in the place of good accessibility and good view. The differrence between the village groves and roadside groves was considerately large in the aspect of physical, socio-behavioral condition and vegetation structure. Both were contrasted in many points. The results resolve itself into Table 2, 4, 6. This research is useful in finding the characters of the both groves and in preparing the conservation and management plan of the groves through comparative review.
