  • The purpose of this study is to develop precast concrete modules that can be used as a booth and a single-story building with a large space. This precast concrete module is originally designed to have a hexagonal facade when the upper and lower parts, which are symmetrical about horizontal connection line, are combined. A structural design was conducted to ensure structural safety of these precast concrete modules and to extend the slope of the inclined members as far as possible. Then the finite element analysis was performed to estimate the lateral and vertical deflection of complete precast concrete modular structures. And to verify the structural safety of these precast concrete modules, weight loading tests were conducted on the upper and lower modules respectively.

  • In this study, in order to adapt various types of suspensions that is not possible for a passenger car, and to validate the effect of the design change of a suspension upon ride and handling characteristics of vehicle, the modular experimental vehicle, which makes possible to exchange suspension systems, has been designed and developed. In order to enable the assemblage between the modules, the experimental vehicle design is based on a space frame construction through finite element analysis. Moreover, the module frames and the brackets are designed are designed using three- dimensionalsolid modeler to check the interference between each part of a vehicle. The results of simulation and experiment are compared.

  • In this paper, we proposed an architecture of error detection in $Z_N$ operations using $Z_{(2^r-1)N}$. The error detection can be simply constructed in hardware. The hardware overheads are only 50% and 1% with respectively space and time complexity. The architecture is very efficient because it is detection 99% for 1 bit fault. For 2 bit fault, it is detection 99% and 50% with respective r=2 and r=3.

  • The Weyl group of a compact connected Lie group is a reflection group. If such Lie groups are locally isomorphic, the representations of the Weyl groups are rationally equivalent. They need not however be equivalent as integral representations. Turning to the invariant theory, the rational cohomology of a classifying space is a ring of invariants, which is a polynomial ring. In the modular case, we will ask if rings of invariants are polynomial algebras, and if each of them can be realized as the mod p cohomology of a space, particularly for dihedral groups.

  • Fashion related with architectural paradigms includes concept of the space utilization beyond fashions field. Such a fashions concept is able to enlarge as a spatial system like architecture. Interface between fashion and architecture is originated in thinking of the rhizome, which understands fashions field within various relationships between environment of the city and fashion. The existing construction systems of fashion is not sufficient in fashions roles as the space that wearing changing body continuously. Consequently, accommodation of architectural paradigms in fashion depends on new recognition about function and space. Architectural paradigms expressed in fashion since 1990s was classified as follows: 1 modular system of Le Corbusier & Archigram, 2 deconstruction, 3 reconstruction, 4 nomadic architecture. Such a paradigms has been easy to combination among fashion and architecture and furniture. Deconstruction and reconstruction fashion revealed process toward completion, and reappeared architectural consideration about process of change toward incompletion. There are acknowledged formative characteristics as follows: mobility, changeability, multi-function, mutual combinative, openness, and fluidity. This study shows that fashion is essential device determined city environment construction in 21C, and revels that fashion has been highlighted as a presage of new spatial economy received architectural construction systems.

  • Some modular representations of reflection groups related to Weyl groups are considered. The rational cohomology of the classifying space of a compact connected Lie group G with a maximal torus T is expressed as the ring of invariants, H*(BG; ℚ) ≅ H*(BT; ℚ)W(G), which is a polynomial ring. If such Lie groups are locally isomorphic, the rational representations of their Weyl groups are equivalent. However, the integral representations need not be equivalent. Under the mod p reductions, we consider the structure of the rings, particularly for the Weyl group of symplectic groups Sp(n) and for the alternating groups An as the subgroup of W(SU(n)). We will ask if such rings of invariants are polynomial rings, and if each of them can be realized as the mod p cohomology of a space. For n = 3, 4, the rings under a conjugate of W(Sp(n)) are shown to be polynomial, and for n = 6, 8, they are non-polynomial. The structures of H*(BTn-1; 𝔽p)An will be also discussed for n = 3, 4.

  • Large aperture antennas with long focal lengths in space have important application for telecommunications, Earth observation and science missions. This paper aims to understand the dynamics of deployment of large mesh antennas and to provide a multibody model for determining the driving forces for the design of reflectors and booms. The modular deployable reflector and boom are designed based on the deployment unit cell. A multibody dynamic model is formulated with Kane's equation and simulated using the pseudo upper triangular decomposition (PUTD) method for solving the constrained problem. Based on the multibody dynamic model, the kinetics of the deployment, the motor driving forces, and the structural dynamic deformation are investigated.

  • Today, residential facilities is planned and built based on modular architecture. In the modular housing, sizes and locations of spaces like rooms, kinchin, and bathrooms can be changed from-time-to-time. Therefore, current home automation systems based on predesigned and fixed system with wired sensors can not be suitable for the modular housing. As a result, a new concept-based homw automation system is required which is able to adopt varying home environment. Since the change of spaces will change the number of and types of necessary sensors, the home automation system enables to detect automatically and naturally the added or removed different types of wireless sensors and provides home automation services. In this paper, a home automation system is studied and implemented which can adopt varying space environment by detecting automatically added or removed sensors and provide new user interfaces for displaying sensing information.

  • Recently, the modular network was proposed in a way to keep the size of the neural network small. The modular network solves the problem by splitting it into sub-problems. In this aspect, fuzzy systems act in a similar way. However, in a fuzzy system, there must be an expert rule which separates the input space. To overcome this, fuzzy-neural network has been used. However, the number of fuzzy rules grows exponentially as the number of input variables grow. In this paper, we would like to solve the size problem of neural networks using modular network with the hierarchic structure. In the hierarchic structure, the output of precedent module affects only the THEN part of the rule. Finally, the rules become shorter being compared to the rule of fuzzy-neural system. Also, the relations between input and output could be understood more easily in the Proposed modular network and that makes design easier.

  • A modular robot that memorizes motion can be easily created and operated because it expresses by hand. However, since there is not enough storage space in the module to store the user-created operation, it is impossible to reuse the created operation, and when the modular robot again memorizes the operation, it changes to another operation. There is no main controller capable of operating a plurality of modular robots at the same time, and thus there is a disadvantage that the user must input directly to the modular robot. To overcome these disadvantages, a remote controller has been proposed that can be operated in the surrounding smart devices by designing web server and component based software using wired and wireless network. In the proposed method, various types of structures are created by connecting to a modular robot, and the reconstructed operation is performed again after storing, and the usefulness is confirmed by regenerating the stored operation effectively. In addition, the reliability of the downloaded trajectory data is verified by analyzing the difference between the trajectory data and the actual trajectory. In the future, the trajectory stored in the remote controller will be standardized using the artificial intelligence technique, so that the operation of the modular robot will be easily implemented.
