  • We deal with a Finsler space $F^n$ with an approximate infinite series $({\alpha},\;{\beta})$-metric $L({\alpha},\;{\beta})$ = ${\beta}{\sum}_{k=0}^{r}(\frac{\alpha}{\beta})^k$ where ${\alpha}<{\beta}$. We introduced a Finsler space $F^n$ with an infinite series $({\alpha},{\beta})$-metric $L({\alpha},\;{\beta})=\frac{\beta^2}{\beta-\alpha}$ and investigated various geometrical properties at [6]. The purpose of the present paper is devoted to finding the condition for a Finsler space $F^n$ with an approximate infinite series $({\alpha},\;{\beta})$-metric above to be a Douglas space.

  • We introduce a non-Euclidean metric for transportation systems with a defined minimum transportation cost (initial fare) and investigate the continuous single-facility Weber location problem based on this metric. The proposed algorithm uses the results for solving the Weber problem with Euclidean metric by Weiszfeld procedure as the initial point for a special local search procedure. The results of local search are then checked for optimality by calculating directional derivative of modified objective functions in finite number of directions. If the local search result is not optimal then algorithm solves constrained Weber problems with Euclidean metric to obtain the final result. An illustrative example is presented.

  • Recently Samet, Vetro and Vetro introduced the notion of ${\alpha}$-${\Psi}$-contractive type mappings and initiated some fixed point theorems in complete metric spaces. The notion of ${\alpha}_*$ - ${\Psi}$-contractive multifunctions and initiated some fixed point results by Hasanzade Asl et. al. [8]. In this paper, we introduced the notion of ${\alpha}_*$ - ${\Psi}$-contractive multifunctions in a fuzzy metric space and gave fixed point results for these multifunctions in complete fuzzy metric spaces. We also obtain a fixed point results for self-maps in complete fuzzy metric spaces satisfying contractive condition.

  • The ($\alpha$,$\beta$)-metric is a Finsler metric which is constructed from a Riemannian metric $\alpha$ and a differential 1-from $\beta$;it has been sometimes treated in theoretical physics. The condition for a Finsler space with an ($\alpha$,$\beta$)-metric L($\alpha$,$\beta$) to be projectively flat was given by Matsumoto [11]. The present paper is devoted to studying the condition for a Finsler space with L=$\alpha$\ulcorner$\beta$\ulcorner or L=$\alpha$+$\beta$\ulcorner/$\alpha$ to be projectively flat on the basis of Matsumoto`s results.

  • In this paper, firstly we discuss some basic axioms of trans Sasakian manifolds. Later, the trans-Sasakian manifold with quarter symmetric non-metric connection are studied and its curvature tensor and Ricci tensor are calculated. Also, we study the η-Ricci solitons on a Trans-Sasakian Manifolds with quartersymmetric non-metric connection. Indeed, we investigated that the Ricci and η-Ricci solitons with quarter-symmetric non-metric connection satisfying the conditions ${\tilde{R}}.{\tilde{S}}$ = 0. In a particular case, when the potential vector field ξ of the η-Ricci soliton is of gradient type ξ = grad(ψ), we derive, from the η-Ricci soliton equation, a Laplacian equation satisfied by ψ. Finally, we furnish an example for trans-Sasakian manifolds with quarter-symmetric non-metric connection admitting the η-Ricci solitons.

  • Related fixed point theorems on two or three metric spaces have been prove in different ways. However, so for the related fixed point theorem on fuzzy metric space have not been proved. Sharma, Deshpande and Thakur were the first who have establishe related fixed point theorem for four mappings on two complete fuzzy metric spaces. Their work was maiden in this line. In this paper we obtain a related fixed point theorem for six mappings on three complete fuzzy metric spaces. Of course this is a new result on this line.

  • The metric defined on the domain deformation space better measures the similarity between bounded and continuous signals for the purpose of classification via the metric distances between signals. In this paper, a modified domain deformation theory is introduced for one-dimensional signal classification. A new metric defined on a modified domain deformation for measuring the distance between signals is employed. By introducing a newly defined metric space via the newly defined Integra-Normalizer, the assumption that domain deformation is applicable only to continuous signals is removed such that any kind of integrable signal can be classified. The metric on the modified domain deformation has an advantage over the $L^2$ metric as well as the previously introduced domain deformation does.

  • In this paper we study $h$-projectively semisymmetric, ${\phi}$-pro-jectively semisymmetric, $h$-Weyl semisymmetric and ${\phi}$-Weyl semisym- metric non-Sasakian ($k$, ${\mu}$)-contact metric manifolds. In all the cases the manifold becomes an ${\eta}$-Einstein manifold. As a consequence of these results we obtain that if a 3-dimensional non-Sasakian ($k$, ${\mu}$)-contact metric manifold satisfies such curvature conditions, then the manifold reduces to an N($k$)-contact metric manifold.

  • In this paper, we show that there exists no left invariant Riemannian metric h on the Heisenberg group H such that (H, h) is a symmetric Riemannian manifold, and there does not exist any H-invariant metric $\bar{h}$ on the Heisenberg manifold $H/{\Gamma}$ such that the Riemannian connection on ($H/{\Gamma},\bar{h}$) is a Yang-Mills connection. Moreover, we get necessary and sufficient conditions for a group homomorphism of (SU(2), g) with an arbitrarily given left invariant metric g into (H, h) with an arbitrarily given left invariant metric h to be a harmonic and an affine map, and get the totality of harmonic maps of (SU(2), g) into H with a left invariant metric, and then show the fact that any affine map of (SU(2), g) into H, equipped with a properly given left invariant metric on H, does not exist.

  • In this paper, a novel neighborhood metric of histogram equalization (HE) algorithm for contrast enhancement is presented. We present a refinement of HE using neighborhood metrics with a general framework which orders pixels based on a sequence of sorting functions which uses both global and local information to remap the image greylevels. We tested a novel sorting key with the suggestion of using the original image greylevel as the primary key and a novel neighborhood distinction metric as the secondary key, and compared HE using proposed distinction metric and other HE methods such as global histogram equalization (GHE), HE using voting metric and HE using contrast difference metric. We found that our method can preserve advantages of other metrics, while reducing drawbacks of them and avoiding undesirable over-enhancement that can occur with local histogram equalization (LHE) and other methods.
