Let $\mu$ be a positive Borel measure on $R^n$ which is positive on cubes. For any cube $Q \subset R^n$, a Borel measurable nonnegative function $\varphi_Q$, supported and positive a.e. with respect to $\mu$ in Q, is given. We consider a maximal function $$ M_{\mu}f(x) = sup \int \varphi Q$\mid$f$\mid$d_{\mu} $$ where the supremum is taken over all $\varphi Q$ such that $x \in Q$.

To indicate the statistical complexity of dynamical systems, we introduce the notions of higher order irregular set and higher order maximal Birkhoff average oscillation in this paper. We prove that, in the setting of topologically mixing Markov chain, the set consisting of those points having maximal k-order Birkhoff average oscillation for all positive integers k is as large as the whole space from the topological point of view. As applications, we discuss the corresponding results on a repeller.

We give a characterization of a deductive system. We introduce the concept of maximal deductive systems and show that every bounded Hilbert algebra with at least two elements contains at least one maximal deductive system. Moreover, we introduce the notion of radical and semisimple in a Hilbert algebra and prove that if H is a bounded Hilbert algebra in which every element is an involution, then H is semisimple.

Let X be a compact metric space, B be a unital commutative Banach algebra and ${\alpha}{\in}(0,1]$. In this paper, we first define the vector-valued (B-valued) ${\alpha}$-Lipschitz operator algebra $Lip_{\alpha}$ (X, B) and then study its structure and characterize of its maximal ideal space.

Necessary and sufficient conditions on the weight functions u(.) and $\upsilon$(.) are derived in order that the fractional maximal operator $M\alpha,\;0\;\leq\;\alpha\;<\;1$, is bounded from the weighted amalgam space $\ell^s(L^p(\mathbb{R},\upsilon(x)dx)$ into $\ell^r(L^q(\mathbb{R},u(x)dx)$ whenever $1\leq s\leq r<\infty\;and\;1. The boundedness problem for the fractional intergral operator $I_{\alpha},0<\alpha\leq1$, is also studied.

In this paper we investigate complete spacelike (r - 1)-maximal (i.e., $H_r\;{\equiv}\;0$) hypersurfaces with two distinct principal curvatures in the anti-de Sitter space $\mathbb{H}_1^{n+1}$(-1). We give a characterization of the hyperbolic cylinder.

We define a numerical invariant $row_{CM}(A)$ over Cohen-Macaulay local ring A, which is related to rows of the presenting matrices of maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules without free summands. We show that $row(A)=row_{CM}(A)$ for a Cohen-Macaulay(not necessarily Gorenstein) local ring A.

In this paper we shall discuss the minimal, maximal and primary subautomata. Also the concepts of the totally reachable state and source will be introduced. It is an interesting part that mX＊ is minimal iff the source S(m) is maximal. We shall point out that the characterization of primary subautomaton comes from the properties associated with the sources S(m)'s.

We prove that a maximal ideal M of D[x] has two generators and is of the form where p is an irreducible element in a PID D having infinitely many nonassociate irreducible elements and q(x) is an irreducible non-constant polynomial in D[x]. Moreover, we find how minimal generators of maximal ideals of a polynomial ring D[x] over a DVR D consist of and how many generators those maximal ideals have.
