실용수학 교육과정 및 교과서 분석 (An Analysis of the Practical Mathematics Curriculum and Textbooks)

  • Practical Mathematics is one of the career elective subjects in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum for high school. This study examined how well the practical mathematics textbooks reflect the recommendations and visions suggested by related professions and organizations with respect to career preparation, especially for students enrolling in engineering industry-focused specialized high schools. Also, this study looked more closely into the contents of practical mathematics in terms of the consistency among different textbooks and the advancement from middle school contents in similar domains.

EXPONENTIALLY FITTED NUMERICAL SCHEME FOR SINGULARLY PERTURBED DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS INVOLVING SMALL DELAYS

  • This paper deals with numerical treatment of singularly perturbed differential equations involving small delays. The highest order derivative in the equation is multiplied by a perturbation parameter 𝜀 taking arbitrary values in the interval (0, 1]. For small 𝜀, the problem involves a boundary layer of width O(𝜀), where the solution changes by a finite value, while its derivative grows unboundedly as 𝜀 tends to zero. The considered problem contains delay on the convection and reaction terms. The terms with the delays are approximated using Taylor series approximations resulting to asymptotically equivalent singularly perturbed BVPs. Inducing exponential fitting factor for the term containing the singular perturbation parameter and using central finite difference for the derivative terms, numerical scheme is developed. The stability and uniform convergence of difference schemes are studied. Using a priori estimates we show the convergence of the scheme in maximum norm. The scheme converges with second order of convergence for the case 𝜀 = O(N-1) and for the case 𝜀 ≪ N-1, the scheme converge uniformly with first order of convergence, where N is number of mesh intervals in the domain discretization. We compare the accuracy of the developed scheme with the results in the literature. It is found that the proposed scheme gives accurate result than the one in the literatures.

  • Prouhet string morphism has been a well investigated morphism in different studies on combinatorics on words. In this paper we consider Prouhet array morphism for the images of binary picture arrays in terms of Parikh q-matrices. We state the formulae to calculate q-counting scattered subwords of the images of any arrays under this array morphism and also investigate the properties such as q-weak ratio property and commutative property under this array morphism in terms of Parikh q- matrices of arrays.

AN IMPROVED ALTERNATIVE WENO SCHEMES WITH PERTURBATIONAL TERMS FOR THE HYPERBOLIC CONSERVATION LAWS

  • This paper aims to improve the alternative formulation of the fifth- and sixth-order accurate weighted essentially non-oscillatory (AWENO) finite difference schemes. The first is to derive the AWENO scheme with sixth-order accuracy in the smooth region of the solution. Second, a new weighted polynomial functions combining the perturbed forms with conserved variable to the AWENO is constructed; the new form of tunable functions are invented to maintain non-oscillatory property. Detailed numerical experiments are presented to illustrate the behavior of the new perturbational AWENO schemes. The performance of the present scheme is evaluated in terms of accuracy and resolution of discontinuities using a variety of one and two-dimensional test cases. We show that the resulted perturbational AWENO schemes can achieve fifth- and sixth-order accuracy in smooth regions while reducing numerical dissipation significantly near singularities.

  • 본 논문은 1년 동안 학생중심 수학교실문화를 구현하려고 노력하는 3명의 초등학교 교사들을 대상으로 6개의 수학교실문화를 분석함으로써 교사중심에서 학생중심의 문화로 바꿔나가는 과정을 상세하게 탐색한다. 연구대상 교실 모두에서 일반적인 사회적 규범과 관련하여 학생중심 교수법의 전형적인 양상이 구현된 반면에, 사회수학적 규범과 수학적 관행 측면에서는 학생들의 아이디어가 수학적 담화와 활동의 중심이 되는 정도에 따라서 유사성보다는 차이점이 부각되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 수학교실문화 개선의 난제, 사회수학적 규범과 수학적 관행의 중요성, 교사의 역할 등에 관해 논의한다.

핀란드 수학과 교육과정 비교 분석 (A Comparative study of mathematics curriculum in Finland)

  • 본 논문에서는 핀란드 수학과 교육과정에 대하여 알아보고, 이를 우리나라 2009 개정 수학과 교육과정과 비교 분석하였다. 핀란드 수학과 교육과정은 학년군별로 편성되어 있고, 학년군의 목표와 내용 영역별 목표, 학년군 말에 실시되는 평가의 성취기준 등이 제시되어 있어 우리나라 2009 개정 수학과 교육과정과 형식면에서 유사한 점이 많이 있지만 내용에 있어서는 수학적 성향이나 수학적 과정을 성취기준에 포함시키는 등 차이가 있었다. 본 연구 결과, 수학과 교육과정의 목표, 내용, 평가 등이 일관성을 유지할 필요가 있으며, 핀란드의 학년군제 운영의 실제를 파악할 필요성이 제기되었다.

  • The tolerance approach to the sensitivity analysis in linear programming considers simultaneous and independent variations in the coefficients of the objective function or of the right-hand side terms and gives a region in which the coefficients and terms can be changed and still keeps the current optimal basis B for the original problem as an optimal basis for the perturbed problem. In this paper we describe a procedure that expands the region S obtained by the tolerance approach into a larger region R, so that more variations in the objective function coefficients or the right-hand side terms are permissible.
