A NEW UPPER BOUND FOR SINGLE ERROR-CORRECTING CODES

  • The purpose of this paper is to give an upper bound for A[n,4], the maximum number of codewords in a binary code of word length n with minimum distance 4 between codewords. We have improved upper bound for A[12k+11,4]. In this correspondence we prove $A[23,4]\leq173716$.

  • We propose a statistical interpolation approximate solution for a nonlinear stochastic integral equation of a stock price process. The proposed method has the order O(h$^2$) of local error under the weaker conditions of $\mu$ and $\sigma$ than those of Milstein' scheme.

DISCRETE CURVATURE BASED ON AREA

  • The concept of discrete curvature is a discretization of the curvature. Many literatures introduce discrete curvatures derived from arc length of circular arcs. We propose a new concept of discrete curvature of a polygon at each vertex, which is derived from area of fan shapes. We estimate the error of the discrete curvature and compare the discrete curvature with old one.

  • In this note we construct a sequence of Picard iterates suitable for the approximation of solutions of K-positive definite operator equations in arbitrary real Banach spaces. Explicit error estimate is obtained and convergence is shown to be as fast as a geometric progression.
