Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the association between asthma and oral health and factors influencing asthma in adults. We also investigated whether asthma is related to mental health and physiological factors of blood. Methods : Data from 12,639 adults was taken from the 7th period (2016~2018) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and analyzed using with SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Statistical analysis of data included frequency analysis, cross-analysis, and logistic regression analysis. For continuous data, an independent sample t-test was performed. The statistical significance level was defined as 0.05. Results : The probability of asthma occurrence was statistically different within general characteristics (gender, age, school grade, income, and drinking). By independent variables in a logistic regression analysis, the asthma diagnosis group had more people with speech discomfort (OR=1.37), chewing discomfort (OR=1.29), and oral pain (OR=.73). We found that people with asthma had a more unfavorable perception of their health (OR=1.73), suffered more depression (OR=.45), stress (OR=.66), and limited activity (OR=2.38). Moreover, the white blood cell count (OR=1.10) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein test (OR=1.06) also showed higher values than the control group. Conclusion : Our study showed that oral health and mental health were associated with the asthma, and influencing factors were oral health and behavior and mental health-related characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to understand asthma-related risk factors for oral health and recognize the importance of systematic oral care education and regular dental visits for patients receiving asthma treatment. Thus, this study provides valuable insights on appropriate oral health management and prevention of asthma in patients.

Purpose : This study aimed to identify the educational effects of the International Development Cooperation and Healthcare course from 2018 to 2020. Methods : Changes in awareness of international development cooperation (understanding international development cooperation as well as government Official Development Assistance [ODA], thoughts on aid, and thoughts on government's aid scale) were analyzed using web-based surveys. The pre-course survey was conducted 1-2 weeks before the semester started, and the post-course survey was conducted 1-2 weeks after the semester ended. All data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program, and statistical significance was set at p< .05. Results : A total of 314 people participated in the survey before taking the course, and 286 people participated in the survey after taking the course. Analysis of the changes in students' awareness of international development cooperation showed that all items (understanding international development cooperation and government ODA, as well as having thoughts on aid and government's aid scale) were improved. Regarding changes in awareness according to general characteristics, thoughts on aid were statistically significant according to all characteristics except for 2018. Regarding government's aid scale, awareness scores increased after taking the course in students who majored in healthcare, fine arts and athletics, broadcasting and media studies, and digital contents. Conclusion : This study showed that changes in awareness of international development cooperation were largest in second-year students. Compared to changes regarding international development cooperation, government ODA, and thoughts on aid, changes regarding thoughts on government's aid scale were minor. In the future, it is necessary to develop class content suitable for the first-year level and to supplement and operate content that can change the way of thinking on government's aid scale.

Purpose : Establishing competency in person-centered care is crucial for providing high-quality nursing care in diverse clinical settings and adapting to changing roles in different situations. This study aimed to explore the level of transcultural self-efficacy, cultural empathy, and person-centered care competency among nursing students, as well as identify the factors influencing their person-centered care competency. The findings will serve as fundamental data to enhance person-centered care competency. Methods : A questionnaire consisting of items on general characteristics, person-centered care competency, transcultural self-efficacy, and cultural empathy was administered to 175 nursing students in G city. Data were collected from March 5, 2023, to March 20, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to examine the correlation among transcultural self-efficacy, cultural empathy, and person-centered care competency. Multiple regression analysis was employed to determine the factors influencing person-centered care competency. Results : The person-centered care competency scores were above the average level and varied according to department satisfaction (F=13.79, p<.001), subjective well-being (t=3.34, p=.015), and interpersonal relations (F=5.74, p=.001). Person-centered care competency exhibited a significant positive correlation with cultural empathy (r=.51, p<.001) and transcultural self-efficacy (r=.49, p<.001). Regression analysis confirmed that cultural empathy (β=.39, p<.001) and transcultural self-efficacy (β=.22, p<.001) were influential factors for nursing students' person-centered care competency, with the model explaining 37 % of the variance. Conclusion : Cultural empathy and transcultural self-efficacy are significant factors influencing the person-centered care competency of nursing students. It is crucial to encourage nursing students to develop person-centered care competency by fostering cultural empathy and transcultural self-efficacy. Further research is needed to identify additional factors affecting person-centered care competency among nursing students. Additionally, the development of education programs aimed at enhancing person-centered care competency is necessary.

Purpose : Although Korea's health insurance system and access to medical care are well established compared to other countries, the rate of non-fulfillment of dental treatment is high. Medical use rates can be affected by economic characteristics, individual heatlh condtions, health concerns, and health behaviors. This study was implemented to investigate the effect of the middle-aged elderly people's family living together on the dental examination rate and to use it as basic data for program development, research, and poicies to promote oral health. Methods : Raw data from the 7th national health and nutrition survey conducted by the Korea centers for disease control and prevention (2016~2018) were used and analyzed using SPSS 21.0 Version (IBM, United States). Results : As a result of the study family types accroding to general characteristics, the more women are (p<.001), the higther the age (p<.001), the lower the hosehold income level (p<.001), the lower the educational background (p<.001), the more people who live in Eup-Myeon (p<.001) It was fouend that the rate of living alone was high. The dental examination rate according to general characteristics was related to age (p<.001), income (p<.001), and educational background (p<.001), and the higher the examination rate was in the same (p<.001), and the higher the family living together (p<.001). Factors influencing whether or not dental treatment was not performed were in the following order: household income (p<.001), age (p=.001), and family type (p=.017). Conclusion : The above results confirmed the relationship between family membership and dental examination rates, and measures such as the development and operation of participatory programs to improve public oral health by resolving medical inequality and enhancing health equity, and it is believed that the development of professional manpower and the operation of education and programs for professionals are necessary.

Purpose : This study explores the effects of dental hygiene students' ethical propensity and self-esteem on their awareness of protecting patient medical information and how these factors interact to influence their professional ethical consciousness. The aim of this study is to highlight the role of university education in shaping the ethical values of dental hygienists. Methods : Between June 1 and November 30, 2023, 210 dental hygiene students in Busan Metropolitan City participated in this study. After providing consent, the participants completed a self-administered questionnaire comprising 69 questions. The questions covered general characteristics (8 questions), ethical propensity (20 questions), self-esteem (10 questions), and awareness of patient medical information protection (31 questions), all measured on a five-point Likert scale. Results : Correlation analysis indicated that idealism had a significant positive correlation with relativism (r=0.35, p<.001), self-esteem (r=0.28, p<.001), and awareness of patient medical information protection (r=0.46, p<.001). Relativism had a significant positive correlation with self-esteem (r=0.17, p<0.05) and awareness of patient medical information protection (r=0.23, p<.01). Self-esteem had a significant positive correlation with awareness of patient medical information protection (r=0.34, p<.001). Multilinear regression analysis revealed that idealism (ß=0.38) and self-esteem (ß=0.22) significantly increased the level of awareness of patient medical information protection. However, relativism did not have a significant impact on the level of awareness of patient medical information protection. The model explained 26.0 % of the variance (24.9 % when corrected). Conclusion : Higher levels of idealism and self-esteem correlate with greater awareness of patient medical information protection. In addition to appropriate program development and strategies, university curricula for dental hygiene students should include systematic and continuous training to enhance the values of ethical awareness, idealism, and self-esteem.
While many social work studies has focused on the development of practice intervention and demonstration of the efficacy, little attention has been given to the way how the results can be disseminated and utilized in practice area. But attempts to bridge the research-practice gap empathize importance of dissemination and utilization including knowledge utilization, innovation diffusion, information dissemination, program replication, and technology transfer etc. In this recognition, this study that focused on the process after development of program tried to search and analyze the real disseminating process and utilization state with applying Growing-up Skills Program(GUSP) developed and disseminated by this researcher. For the purpose, theories and models for program diffusion were reviewed, and dissemination & utilization of GUSP was analyzed on the 'Herie & Martin's model' with retrospective perspectives. Through this tracer study, these were confirmed or founded as problems of GUSP in disseminating process : lack of specific strategy for the dissemination ; unplanned coping due to little preparation ; and unclear and insufficient understanding of the target system in the beginning stage of dissemination. And followings are suggested for the improvement of social work program dissemination & utilization in the field: to conduct diffusion process on the basis of a proper model; to consider integrative relationship between D&D and dissemination & utilization ; to endeavor for collecting feed back from the field ; and to reinforce social work education and study related to innovation diffusion. These results showed importance of dissemination & utilization in social work and utility of GUSP despite of several limitations. More concerns of dissemination & utilization are needed for the integration of research and practice in Korean social work.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to explore knowledge, barriers, and self-efficacy in relation to pain management practice, and to identify factors influencing pain management practice in pediatric nurses. Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. The participants were 237 pediatric nurses from a metropolitan city. Data were analyzed using t-test or analysis of variance and Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses. Results: The mean percentage of correct answers on the children's pain management knowledge scale was 58.8%. Child and parent related factors were the main barriers for pain management. Self-efficacy to assess children's pain across developmental stages was particularly low. Pain management practices for assessing pain and non-pharmacological interventions were relatively low. Factors significantly affecting children's pain management practice were current conditions of work department and self-efficacy in pain management, and these factors accounted for 37.5% of the variance in pain management practice. Conclusion: The results suggest that an integrative education program needs to be developed to improve self-efficacy in children's pain management practice. Moreover, good communication, building cooperative relationships with children and parents, and a more active role by pediatric nurses are required to carry out more effective pain management.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the overseas volunteer activities of university students on changes in global citizenship. Methods : This study was conducted as a one-group pre-posttest design. The study's subjects were students who participated in the 37th World Friends Korea Youth Volunteer Corps in 2018. Among them, 158 students who completed the survey were included in the analysis. The tool for measuring global citizenship was comprised of knowledge, skill, attitude, and willingness to practice. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program, and the statistical significance was set to p<.05. Results : Among the study's participants, there were 123 females (77.85 %). By grade, there were the most juniors, with 68 (43.04 %). There were 53 (33.55 %) seniors, 28 (18.35 %) sophomores, and eight freshmen (5.06 %). Among all participants, 52.53 % had experience in global citizenship education, and 63.92 % had experience in activities related to global citizenship. Because of analyzing the changes in global citizenship before and after overseas volunteer activities, "skill" increased the most, from 3.51±.65 points to 4.34±.56 points (p< .001). Due to analyzing changes in global citizenship before and after overseas volunteerism, the knowledge and attitude of freshmen were statistically significantly positive, with 1.17± 1.23 (p=.011) and 1.41±1.22 (p=.008), respectively. Participants with global citizenship experience had a significant change in attitude (p=.018). Conclusion : It was confirmed that the overseas volunteer activities of undergraduate students in the university brought a positive change to global citizenship. Providing opportunities for global citizenship education and activities in elementary, middle, and high schools in the future will maximize the effects of overseas volunteer activities to improve global citizenship.
Due to the importance of biotechnological literacy, the educational community in fields such as technology education, science education, and agricultural education has acknowledged the importance of biotechnology instruction for secondary school. Although recognized as a content organizer in the field of technology education, the actual teaching of biotechnology has not been broadly implemented in technology education classes. In the perspective of expectancy-value theory, technology teachers' motivation is the key factor for affecting the biotechnology instruction. This study investigates Korean technology teachers' motivational beliefs toward biotechnology and its instruction and their perceived ability and value toward biotechnology learning contents. To measure their motivational beliefs and attitudes, a composite on-line survey (fifteen motivational beliefs items, eight biotechnology content items, and related demographic items) was developed. Based on 114 Korean technology teachers' responses the researcher performed a descriptive analysis, independent t-test, and factor analyses (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis using M-plus 5.0 and SPSS 16.0). Korean technology teachers' abilities toward eight biotechnology contents indicated lowscores while their values were relatively high. Through the independent sample t-test by two demographic variables (gender and professional development), this study found several significant differences in the perceived value. As a preliminary finding of exploratory factor analysis, fifteen items was separated into two motivational constructs of expectancy (6 items) and value (8 items). One item (item #6) was eliminated due to the cross loading. The final findings of this study may have significant implications for professional development regarding biotechnology and its instruction (both in-service and pre-service training) of technology teachers. Also, the confirmatory facctor analysis supported the preliminary finding. Finally, this study recommends that a validity test for other population, investigation for motivational sub-constructs, and in-depth investigation toward biotechnology instruction.
The purpose of this study was to discern the level of satisfaction of postpartum care in hospitals. the level of importance of traditional postpartum care and the need for home health care for postpartum women. The study's design was to obtain data needed to develop a community-based postpartum care program and to improve the quality of nursing for postpartum care recipients. Data for the study was collected from 1 March to 31 June 2000 from 116 postpartum care recipients treated in Chung-Buk, Korea. Data analysis consisted of frequency, percentage, t-test, and ANOVA. using SPSS win program. The results the of analysis were as follows: 1) The level of satisfaction of postpartum care in the hospital (mean 1.31) was very low. The most laudable items of nursing care by category were: moderate satisfaction with 'perineal wound care' (2.04) and 'afterpain observation'(2.09). The overall level of satisfaction of postpartum care in the hospital. however, was very low. 2) Among other items of postpartum care in the hospital, 'postpartum exercise' $(25.9\%)$. 'assessment and support for postpartum depression' $(25.9\%)$, 'operation wound care for women who underwent Caesarean sections' $(24.5\%)$. and 'contraception and family planning' $(20.4\%)$ showed a need for home health care for postpartum care recipients above $20\%$. 3) The level of importance of traditional postpartum care (Sanhujori) was relatively high (mean 2.72). The importance of Sanhujori by category was as followed: 'the fourth principle: protecting the body from harmful strains' was the highest (2.88), 'the third principle: eating well', 'the first principle: invigorating the body by augmenting heat and avoiding cold', 'the second principle: resting without working', 'the fifth principle: keeping clean' and 'the sixth principle: handling with the whole heart' showed 2.85, 2.80, 2.70, 2.51 and 2.46 respectively. 4) The need for home health care with Sanhujori was very low. 5) The relationship between demographic factors and the level of satisfaction with postpartum care in the hospital was as follows: the satisfaction levels were significantly different among' delivery frequency' and 'health status' alteration after delivery'. 6) The relationship between demographic factors and the importance of the Sanhujori category was as follows: There were no significant differences in the level of importance of the first and the forth principle of Sanhujori. The level of importance of the second principle of Sanhujori was significantly different among 'income' and 'family type'. The level of importance of the third principle of Sanhujori was significantly different among 'having a boy'. The level of importance of the fifth principle of Sanhujori was significantly different among 'income' and 'feeding type'. The level of importance of the sixth principle of Sanhujori was significantly different among 'education background' and 'feeding type'. In conclusion. the findings of this study illustrate the nursing needs of postpartum care recipients. It provides a challenge to caregivers in the healthcare industry to develop a continuous postpartum care program and integrative postpartum care system that embodies the oriental and western paradigm for the promotion of women's health.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
