A new procedure of the boundary element method(BEM),say, singular BEM for the potential problems with singularities is presented. To obtain the numerical solution of which asymptotic behavior near the singularities is close to that of the analytic solution, we use particular elements on the boundary segments containing singularities. The Motz problem and the crack problem are taken as the typical examples, and numerical results of these cases show the efficiency of the present method.

A size-biased Poisson distribution is defined. Its characterization by using a recurrence relation for first order negative moment of the distribution is obtained. Different estimation methods for the parameter of the model are also discussed. R-Software has been used for making a comparison among the three different estimation methods.

표본조사 교육의 효과적인 학습을 위하여 컴퓨터를 이용한 다양한 표본조사 기법들과 이에 따른 추정이론들을 비교 분석하는 소프트웨어를 개발하고자 한다. 또한 일반적인 표본조사 실습에는 시간과 비용이 많이 들게 되므로 충분한 실습을 하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 사용자에게 사용이 편리한 멀티미디어 툴과 멀티미디어 툴에서의 한계인 수학적 계산은 통계 패키지를 이용하여 보다 사용하기 쉽고 실시간에 모수추정이 가능한 표본조사 실습 프로그램을 개발하데 목적으로 하였다.

Continuous efforts have been made to transform industrial technologies possessed by private sector for national defense purposes over decades. Among these efforts, the unification programs between military and commercial specifications resulted in cost reduction and high efficiency of military supplies. In this paper, we study the unification of reliability specifications, which seems to have been widely used for military and commercial fields. We also propose a method of developing an unified reliability specification for electro-mechanical relays.

This study delivers the actual condition of investment for industrial accident prevention based on survey of 500 construction sites from 'reports far industry safety and health' published by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA). The various research techniques were used such as technical statistic analysis for construction industry, cost comparison of industrial accident prevention and accident loss. A formula was deduced to calculate accident loss and accident frequency by accident prevention cost through regression analysis.

Two principally different statements of the problem of stable numerical differentiation are considered. It is analyzed when it is possible in principle to get a stable approximation to the derivative ${\Large f}'$ given noisy data ${\Large f}_{\delta}$. Computational aspects of the problem are discussed and illustrated by examples. These examples show the practical value of the new understanding of the problem of stable differentiation.

The purposes of this study are to investigate the conformity of Korean Standards(KS) according to agreement on WTO/TBT, and to propose systematic frameworks of preparation, adoption, and application for KS in our enterprises. Significant changes in this establishment, revision, and abrogation include the following divisions; i) statistics-vocabulary and symbols, ii) Shewhart control chart, iii) statistical interpretation of data, iv) sampling procedures for inspection by attributes, v) sequential sampling plans for inspection.

In most introductory statistics courses and text, the two equal tail test is presented without justification. In the present paper, the two equal tail critical region will be discussed in the light of unbiasedness with some test examples for the mean and the variance based on the random sample $X_1$, $X_2$,....$X_n$ from N($\mu$, $\delta^2$) using only elementary mathematics.
