  • King Taejo, Wang Gun had succeeded in bringing order out of chaos of the Later Three Kingdoms and establishing a new unified dynasty, Koryo. Why can he gain the victory against the king of Later Baekje, GyunHwon? What is the his leadership? These are his leadership. (1) He had the peserverance. in 927 Wang Gun had broken by Gyun Hwon's army at Gong San. Nevertheless He didn't dissapoint and trained troops for battle steadily. Therefore in 930 he gained a great victory against Gyun Hwon at An Dong. (2) He use the command rights justically. (3)His soldiers are obedient to his orders involuntarily. (4) He always cooperateed with other’s commanders. (5)He efforted to gain victory without battle. (6)He had a high and great plan. (7) He took advantage of land configuration. (8) He made the enemy to fall into internal disarray. With these leadership, Wang Gun unified Later Three Kingdoms. Regarding himself as the success or to Goguryo, he pursued a policy of expansion to the north. Therefore he extended his borders to Chongchon River. At the same time he broke the chains of the bone-rank system which had shackled Shil1a's society.

  • In the original design of K2 tank the Vertical Sensor Unit(VSU) was mounted to measure the attitude of the main gun to enhance the hit probability. In this research, as a part of efforts to reduce the cost of K2, it was theoretically simulated and evaluated to use the data from Inertial Navigation System(INS) for the calculation of the gun attitude instead of the direct measurement using VSU. It was found that the negative effect of INS approach is negligible and the elimination of VSU is technically possible and beneficial to the system.

  • In this paper, we will discuss the absolute angular error control mode for the Gun/Turret driving system. The Gun/Turret driving controller receives absolute angular error calculated from the fire control system (FCS). Thus, the Gun/Turret driving controller is subjected to step command to cause residual vibration and system unstable. In order to reduce residual vibration and to ensure the system stability, we propose an error motion profile method with two types of trapezoidal and S-Curve. The validity of the proposed error motion profile method is confirmed via simulation by observing that the resulting position error, driving power, and power density satisfied the control performance.

  • The temperature coefficient of a gun propellant could be reduced by applying an appropriate surface coating material. The burning rates of those propellants do not very strongly depend on the propellant temperature. It is a good method to increase the muzzle velocity of gun ammunitions by utilizing the permissible maximum pressure in the gun barrel independent of the propellant temperature. During this study, properties of surface coated propellants were confirmed by results in tests of a closed bomb and 40mm Gun firing, and confirmed that production of coating propellant could be possible.

  • Crime committed by civilians and criminals using legal and illegal firearms and conversion of legal firearms into illegal ones has become a common practice around the world. As a result, policies to control civilian gun ownership have been debated in several countries. The issue arose because the linkages between firearm-related mortality, weapon accessibility, and violent crime data can imply diverse options for addressing criminality. In this paper, we have projected a mathematical model in terms of the Caputo fractional derivative to address the issues viz. input of legal guns, crime committed by legal and illegal guns, and strict government policies to monitor the license of legal guns, strict action against violent crime. The boundedness, existence and uniqueness of solutions and the stability of points of equilibrium are examined. It is observed that violent crime increases with the increase of crime committed by illegal guns, crime committed by legal guns and, decreases with the increase of legal guns, the deterrent effect of civilian gun ownership, and action of law against crime. Further, legal guns increase with the increase of the limitation of trade of illegal guns and decrease with the increase of conversion of legal guns into illegal guns and increase of the growth rate of illegal guns. Again, as crime is committed by legal guns also, the policy of illegal gun control does not assure a crime-free society. Weak gun control can lead to a society with less crime. Theoretical aspects are numerically verified in the present work.

  • This study was carried out to understand the stand structure based on the compositional characteristics of natural deciduous forest dominated by Quercus species, which will provide with fundamental ecological and silvicultural information for effective forest management. Of two tracts selected from the Seoul National University Research Forests, one is located in Kwangju-Gun Kyunggi-Do, and the other in Kwangyang-Gun Chollanam-Do. Point-quarter sampling method w-as employed to survey woody vegetation confined to larger than 6cm in DBH. The numbers of sample points were 152 and 187, in Kwangju-Gun and Kwangyang-Gun, respectively. Comparative analysis for two forest tracts was made as follows ; 1) species composition by calculation of importance values ; 2) number of stems per hectare for major tree species ; 3) species diversity for the forests in two locations ; 4) inter-species association based on $X^2$ test. The relative dominate of Quercus speices showed 88% at Kwangju-Gun, Kyunggi-Do and 50% at Kwangy-ang-Gun. Chollanam-Do. Such high dominance occurred due to high importance values of Quercus variahilis and Q. mortgolica in both locations. Quercus serrata showed low value at Kwangju-Gun. Kyunggi-Do whereas Q. acutissirna, Q. dentata and Q. aliena did none at Kwangyang-Gun. Chollanam-Do. The species diversity and evenness in oak communities exhibited 0.82 and 0.61, respectively at Kwangju-Gun. Kyunggi-Do, while those did 1.09 and 0.73 at Kwangyang-Gun, Chollanam-Do. Therefore, it was considered that Ku-angju-Gun region was disturbed severely by human activities but Kwangyang-Gun region eras less disturbed. Frequent appearance of Carpinus and Acer species indicates increase in diversities and better development of succession at Kwangyang-Gun region.

  • In this paper, the adaptive controller for the turret gun is discussed which uses model reference adaptive technique based on the Lyapunov direct method. Turret gun can be decomposed into two time-invariant SISO control systems. One is for the elevation angle control and the other is for the azimuth angle control under the assumption of independence each other. Thus we only consider here about the control loop for the elevation angle.

  • This paper represents how a muzzle brake affects the dynamic characteristics of the recoil system. A muzzle brake is a device attached to the muzzle for the express purpose of diverting the propellant gas stream from its original path, thereby creating a foreward thrust on the recoiling gun which is in opposition to its rearward motion. In order to obtain the full advantage of a muzzle brake, it is necessary that the recoil system of a gun be designed for the purpose.

  • One of the abnormal motions of the projectile in the coil gun is spinning. It is found that the spinning force is closely related with air gap distance. Modified and detail analysis for the spinning is suggested in this paper. Two reasons for spinning force and Lorentz force affecting on the spinning are introduced. Nutation, which is a result of spinning, is explained there after.
