  • In this paper, an adaptive generalized predictive control(GPC) algorithm which minimizes a N-stage cost function is proposed. The resulting controller is based on GPC algorithm and can be used in unknown plant parameters as the parameters of one step ahead predictor are estimated by recursive least squares method. The estimated parameters are extended to G,P, and F amtrix which contain the parameters of N step ahead predictors. And the minimization of cost function assuming no constraints on future controls results in the projected control increment vector. Hence this adaptive GPC algorithm can be used for either unknown system or varing system parameters, and it is also shown through simulations that the algorithm is robust to the variation of system parameters. This adaptive GPC scheme is shown to have the same stability properties as the deterministic GPC, and requires small amount of calculation compared to other adaptive algorithms which minimize N-stage cost function. Especially, in case that the maximum output horizon is 1, the proposed algorithm can be applicable to direct adaptive GPC.

  • The aim of this paper is to obtain a solution of a certain multidimensional convolution integral equation of Fredholm type whose kernel involves a generalized polynomial set. A number of results follow as special cases from the main theorem by specifying the parameters of the generalized polynomial set.

  • Based on the geometrical representation of a generalized intuitionistic fuzzy set, we take into account all three parameters describing generalized intuitionistic fuzzy set and propose new methods to calculate the correlation coefficient for generalized intuitionistic fuzzy sets by means of mathematical statistics.

  • Studies are being done to replace conventional refrigerants with alternatives that have low or no ozone depletion and greenhouse warming Potentials, yet possess appropriate pro perties for a refrigeration cycle. To achieve this goal, a consistent set of thermodynamic properties of the working fluid is required. A common problem with the possible alternative refrigerants is that sufficient experimental data do not exist, thus making it difficult to develp complete equations of state that can predict properties in all regions including the vapor-liquid equilibrium. One solution is the use of the generalized equation of state correlations that can predict thermodynamic properties with a minimum number of characteristic parameters. Characteristic parameters required for the generalized equation of state are, in general, critical temperature, critical pressure, critical volume and normal boiling temperature. In this study, estimation of these characteristic parameters of refrigerants by group contribution method is developed.

  • In reliability analysis, it is quite common for the failure of any individual or item to be attributable to more than one cause. Moreover, observed data are often censored. Recently, progressive hybrid censoring schemes have become quite popular in life-testing problems and reliability analysis. However, a limitation of the progressive hybrid censoring scheme is that it cannot be applied when few failures occur before time T. Therefore, generalized progressive hybrid censoring schemes have been introduced. In this article, we derive the likelihood inference of the unknown parameters under the assumptions that the lifetime distributions of different causes are independent and exponentially distributed. We obtain the maximum likelihood estimators of the unknown parameters in exact forms. Asymptotic confidence intervals are also proposed. Bayes estimates and credible intervals of the unknown parameters are obtained under the assumption of gamma priors on the unknown parameters. Different methods are compared using Monte Carlo simulations. One real data set is analyzed for illustrative purposes.

  • This paper presents the design method of controller which is combined Genetic Algorithms with the Generalized minimum variance self tuning controller. It is shown that the controllers adapts to changes in the system parameters with time delays and noises. The self tuning effect is achieved through the recursive least square algorithm at the parameter estimation stage and also through the Robbins-Monro algorithm at the stage of optimizing a polynomial parameters. The computer simulation results are presented to illustrate the procedure and to show the performance of the control system.

  • The multiprocess dynamic model provides a good framework for the modeling and analysis of the time series that contains outliers and is subject to abrupt changes in pattern. In this paper we consider the multiprocess discount generalized model with parameters having a dependent non-linear structure. This model has nice properties such as insensitivity to outliers and quick reaction to abrupt change of pattern in parameters.

  • We shall derive several estimators for the minimum and maximum of two generalized uniform scale parameters with a common known shape parameter when the order of the scales is unknown and sample sizes are equal. Also we shall obtain the biases and mean squared errors for the proposed several estimators and compare numerically performances for the preposed several estimators.

  • This paper deals with the stochastic analysis of a three-states semi-Markov reliability model. Using both the maximum likelihood and Bayes procedures, the parameters included in this model are estimated. Next, assuming that the lifetime and repair time are generalized exponential random variables, the reliability function of this system is obtained. Then, the distribution of the first passage time of this system is discussed. Finally, some of the obtained results are compared with those available in the literature.

  • The method of generalized estimating equations (GEEs) provides consistent esti- mates of the regression parameters in a marginal regression model for longitudinal data, even when the working correlation model is misspecified (Liang and Zeger, 1986). In this paper we compare the estimators of parameters in GEE approach. We consider two aspects: coverage probabilites and efficiency. We adopted to ordinal responses th results derived from binary outcomes.
