  • The Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity(KOFAC) developed AlgeoMath, a dynamic geometry software, with support from the Ministry of Education and 17 municipal and provincial education offices. Starting Nov. 7, 2018, AlgeoMath can be used for free by anyone. This study summarizes various discussions on the future direction of math education. The four aspects of the curriculum, textbook, teaching and learning, and assessment were explored on how AlgeoMath could contribute in realizing the future direction of math education. We confirmed that AlgeoMath can faithfully fulfill its role as a tool for changing math education, and we looked at what should be emphasized more and what should be complemented.

  • In modern society, the enterprises or the public organization have devised consistent means and methods with keen competition in high intelligence, high specialization and high competition for surviving in the struggle for existence. In the rapidly changing modern society like that, guard services are not free any more in the simple business. It will be survived only with consistent self-development and various abilities. Recently, it is on a trend that the enterprise including venture business requires the man of ability having many-sided thought, knowledge and capacity. That is, the era of a man with multi-function has come. The guards engaged in their present posts have to make efforts self-development consistently. And they have to work for self-development with theoretical knowledge acquirement about the expert knowledge escaping from simple function and business. The constitution including universities that train the guard should not adjust to the demand of quantitative manpower required in the enterprise organization with the training of the guard with simple functions only. It needs settlement as a curriculum with technology like ideology and knowledge breaking from short curriculum centered on function only in order to come to stay the recognition about guard services as expert services that the industrial society requires. The education centered on simple function should be replaced in the use of a high school, private academy and special guard institution. In addition, it requires a quality as the auxiliary, division, decision-making and spokesman according to the business role. Also, it requires the martial arts capacity, the communicative capacity, the sports or reports capacity, the guard driving capacity, the policy and assistant capacity and the information and analysis capacity, etc in individual. Lastly, it need each guard's change of cognition most of all. As part of the guard's adaptive plan according to the social change, it was enumerated like the mentioned above. It is important for the guard to prepare for the change of era and to build up quality and capacity before anything else.

  • This study is a qualitative study that explores the essential meaning of nursing through a simulation curriculum targeting nursing students. In this study, 18 students, who were 4th grade nursing students at a university in M city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, completed a simulation during the curriculum. Data collection was done through free-form reports and interviews to help students understand the part of nursing they thought through simulation classes. The collected data was analyzed using Krippendorff's phenomenological method. As a result of analyzing the meaning of nursing through simulation class, 3 categories, 10 topics, and 28 meaningful statements were derived. The three categories were derived as 'virtual nursing', 'thinking nursing', and 'together nursing'. As a result of this study, nursing students were seeking their own solution to solve nursing in unpredictable situations based on the philosophy of nursing through virtual simulation. It is expected that this will be used as basic data to develop various and in-depth simulation education programs in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the actual conditions of operation in school and investigate the perceptions of science teachers and students regarding the 7th elective-centered curriculum of high school science subjects. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for the selected subjects including 127 high school science teachers and 763 high school students in their third year who had experienced the 7th elective-centered curriculum. As a result of the study, concerning the way to present the elective subjects of science, many cases were the alternative way and the group-elective way in humanity courses while natural science courses had the alternative way and the free-elective way in most cases. In other words, in many cases, the right of elective was given within a limited range. The result of the investigation on science teachers' perceptions on the elective-centered curriculum was that negative views dominated as a whole. Especially, earth science teachers showed the most negative attitudes. The number of biology and chemistry teachers who supported students' right to opt subjects were lower than that of physics teachers and earth science teachers who were against it. To help students make a right choice, many viewed that the system of the college Scholastic Ability Test should be complemented in order to prevent any disadvantage to each elective subject or that it was necessary to have systematic and realistic career education. As the result of investigating the perception of high school students in their third year regarding the elective-centered curriculum, they were usually not very satisfied with it. As the reason for it, many said the selection right was limited. Many others also expressed that there were lack of public relations and education on subjects and careers. Based on these results, limits still exist in accepting all demands although there are a lot of efforts made to smoothly adjust supply and demand of science teachers as well as students' electives in the field of school. It is considered necessary to come up with counterplan and complements to prevent basic science from being neglected or lower academic achievement in the subject of science from happening, and at the same time to harmoniously deal with supply and demand of science teachers as well as the issues of students' demands given the actual conditions of school.

This was done by analysis of 1,883 activities related to creativity in the teachers' guidebooks. In order to analyze the data, the frequency and percentage of creativity elements were calculated. The results can be summarized as follows: First, the ratio of activities related to creativity was 95.1% for the age of three, 93.1% for the age of four, and 78.6% for the age of five. Second, the most common creativity element was cognitive element and the next was motivational element, and the least was dispositional element. • We investigated the understanding of pre-service science teacher about the chemistry concept of middle school curriculum using some items in National Assessment of Educational Achievement and analyzed the result according to background variables of pre-service science teacher. The result was that there were some pre-service science teachers who select incorrect answer at all items, pre-service science teachers don't fully understand the concept needed to solve item. And the percentage of correct answer at some items was low regardless of selection of chemistry as an elective subject at CSAT(College Scholastic Ability Test). We found some facts through the depth interviews to find the cause of the result. First, the misconception acquired in middle school days is tend not to change until college student. Second, the formation of misconception is affected by the study habit with which solve problem by simple calculation and memory without essential understanding. Third, the study habit with which solve problem by simple calculation and memory without essential understanding could not replace misconceptions acquired in middle school days with scientific concept regardless of selection of chemistry as an elective subject at CSAT.
