Background: Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) operates several nuclear research facilities licensed by Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC). The emergency preparedness requirements, GSR Part 7, by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) request protection strategy based on the hazard assessment that is not applied in Korea. Materials and Methods: In developing the protection strategy, it is important to consider an accident scenario and its consequence. KAERI has tried the hazard assessment based on a hypothesis accident scenario for the major nuclear facilities. During the assessment, the safety analysis report of the related facilities was reviewed, the simulation using MELCOR, MACCS2 code was implemented based on a considered accident scenario of each facility, and the international guidance was considered. Results and Discussion: The results of the optimized protective actions were 300 m evacuation and 800 m sheltering for the High-Flux Advanced Neutron Application Reactor (HANARO), the evacuation to radius 50 m, the sheltering 400 m for post-irradiation examination facility (PIEF), 100 m evacuation or sheltering for HANARO fuel fabrication plant (HFFP) facility. Conclusion: The results of the optimized protective actions and its distances for the KAERI facilities for the maximum postulated accidents were considered in establishing the emergency plan and procedures and implementing an emergency exercise for the KAERI facilities.

Purpose: Visual design has many prospective applications, including attaining business, social, educational, and political goals. The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of how visual design influences consumer-facing brand values and marketing messages. In order to be successful in marketing, one must promptly attract the attention of the clients one is attempting to sell to. Research design, data and methodology: In order for the research to provide useful information, it will be necessary to sort the findings in descending order of importance and construct an integrated whole out of the knowledge gleaned from various books, papers, and other sources. This method is essential for establishing the degree of objectivity present in each piece of research and combining the results of those studies. Results: Visual marketing promotes a product or service through moving or still images, illustrations, logos, and other forms of digital content. The audience may comprehend your message better if you include visuals. Even if people only scan your content, they may be more likely to notice it if it is presented appealingly. Conclusions: In conclusion, this study found that visual design substantially influences both the demand for products and the awareness of brand values within their target audiences

The trend of increasing traffic problems due to the explosion in traffic volume in Sejong City has reached a level that cannot be solved by investment in facility infrastructure, so it is essential to establish an intelligent traffic environment based on data. By benchmarking similar cases in the domestic and overseas, and analyzing the traffic information of Sejong City, we propose a plan to provide parking information using Intelligent CCTV, a smart traffic signal control system, and a safe drop zone. It is expected that this study will a basis for establishing policies of the Sejong City traffic safety strategy in the future.

There is now intense competition among many outdoor brands in the domestic market. Establishing differentiated brand image and enhancing brand identity are very important in this situation. This case is to investigate Black Yak's strategy for enhancing their brand identity. The Black Yak builds up their popularity by implementing social responsibility activities along with sustaining their extreme traditional outdoor image. It is effective to step up their brand identity. Future challenges and suggestions are discussed at the end.

Science and technology(S&T) are not only advancing, but also the number of stakeholders in those fields are increasing, and so the demands of S&T strategy for a particular field are increasing. In Korea, especially, this tendency is remarkable, and is evidenced by the fact that more than one hundred of S&T strategies have been established and implemented. However, academic attempts to clarify scientific methodologies for establishing S&T strategy have so far been rare. In this paper, a methodology to establish S&T strategies in a particular field is proposed and examined through a case study to determine its usefulness. First, through an analysis of the literature, previous studies on the establishment of a national S&T strategy and its related concepts are reviewed. Also, a representative framework plans, in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations, are reviewed. Meanwhile, the methodology, PEST-SWOT-AHP, is proposed and the features and applications are identified. For the case study, the strategy establishment of a fusion research and development program is performed. In order to apply the PEST-SWOT-AHP tool, an environmental analysis based on the fusion R&D roadmap is conducted. To examine the usefulness of the proposed framework, a national fusion R&D strategy applying PEST-SWOT-AHP is derived. As a result of the case study, four strategies were derived. Those are be the first mover, promotion of basic research and cultivation of manpower, boost commercialization and public acceptance and reinforcing international cooperation.

In order for Busan New Port to secure more trading volumes than the competing ports at home and abroad, an alternative plan for the new port management policy needs to be sought. By the way, aiming to minimize trial and error while maximizing effect in establishing and driving the new port management policy, there is necessity of referring to the developmental strategies of the advanced ports such as Singapore and Hong Kong that are possessing the globally leading position as well as maximizing the substantial value added and the employment-creation effect even qualitatively. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to propose for a reasonable development strategy for Busan New Port in line with conditions and characteristics of Busan New Port by comparing and analyzing conditions and characteristics of these two advanced ports and by comparative analysis on the developmental strategy according to this.

After the participatory government began, various cluster policies in explicit and tacit forms had been promoted. However, an opinion of coming up with new policy alternative different from the existing one is recently brought up for strengthening the competitiveness of industrial agglomerations. This research attempts to discuss the ways in which both a smart specialization strategy and a triple-helix innovation system approach, as an alternative approach to regional industrial policy, are theoretically associated with the existing cluster policy. Through this discussion, it highlights that post-cluster policy should be not just based on regional specificity, but also facilitated by establishing the consensus space of innovation on the bassis of voluntary cooperation among industry, academy and government. It also stresses that it is necessary to focus on nurturing a new industry by systematic and intensive investment and the diversification of industrial cluster for reinforcing competitiveness of local universities and revitalizing practical cooperation between industry and university.

Preliminary feasibility of REDD mechanism to combat forest degradation in North Korea is reviewed as a means of cooperation between South Korea and North Korea. North Korea has not established a national REDD+ strategy and a forest monitoring system which are required to implement REDD+ under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Credible statistical data of forest resources is a necessary condition for implementing REDD mechanism in the developing countries. However, other than forest area data using satellite images, statistical data of forest resources of North Korea are mostly estimated based on simple hypothesis rather than transparent and robust results from national forest inventory. The review of statistical data of forest resources of North Korea shows that North Korea is in a pre-stage of REDD readiness. The study suggests that following research and cooperation agendas should be considered to implement REDD mechanism in North Korea: 1) detecting land use change since 2000, measuring carbon stock change, and identifying causes of deforestation and forest degradation; and 2) establishing a national REDD+ strategy' and a national forest inventory system in North Korea.

Technical development have broaden human activity ranges and make human possible to defend the disasters which was undependable in the past. However, human's space activity brought a new kind of disaster to human. In the past, natural space objects was the only concern from the space, like the asteroid fallen on Chelyabinsk, Russia. But, nowadays, by the increasing number of the man-made space objects, these space kind of threat have diversified and become very real. So, nationwide safety strategy should be established to protect the people. In this paper, we suggest three points to make the decision for establishing the strategy based on the AHP analysis results.
