The purpose of this study was to develop an extractor to improve the effective ingredient of propolis. In order to improve the performance of conventional alcohol extraction at room temperature, a striking-type extractor used with a sprayed mist (alcohols, 95% alcohol) was developed for use at $40^{\circ}C$. Extraction of the effective ingredient of propolis was tested, and the resulting material was analyzed using a device. The extraction test of the mist spraying method indicated that the level of flavonoid was 1.56%, which is 1.5 times the 1.04% shown in existing data from a conventional stirred extractor. In addition, the extraction time can be reduced by half and the cost reduced by about 12.7% per year. It is confirmed that the extractor developed with a sprayed mist (alcohols, 95% alcohol) appears effective at the low temperature.
The conditions for the extraction of effective substances from the stem of Opuntia ficus-indica were optimized by a response surface methodology. The total extract yield was maximized under the temperature of $97.77^{\circ}C$, at a time duration of 145.82 min and a water to sample ratio 16.59 mL/g. Moreover, the optimum conditions for the extraction of effective substances were as follows: $84.95^{\circ}C$, 156.50 min and a water/sample ratio of 7.46 mL/g for the phenolics content; and $97.11^{\circ}C$, 139.03 min and a water/sample ratio of 10.91 mL/g for the pectin content. The range of optimum extraction conditions in consideration of the physicochemical properties of the extracts were shown to be as $95-100^{\circ}C$ as the extraction temperature, 120-180 min as extraction time and a water to sample ratio of 5-18 mL/g.
This paper proposes an improved vascular pattern extraction algorithm for person verification applications. The proposed direction-based vascular pattern extraction (DBVPE) algorithm is based on the directional information of vascular patterns. It applies two different filters to the input images: row vascular pattern extraction filter (RVPEF) for effective extraction of the abscissa vascular patterns and column vascular pattern extraction filter (CVPEF) for effective extraction of the ordinate vascular patterns. We use the combined output of both filters to obtain the final hand vascular patterns. Unlike the conventional hand vascular pattern extraction algorithm, the directional extraction approach prevents loss of the vascular pattern connectivity. To validate the DBVPE algorithm, we used a prototype system with a DSP processor. The prototype system shows approximately a three-times better false acceptance rate (FAR) than the conventional single filter algorithm.
In this study, static and dynamic solvent extractions are compared for more efficient extraction of polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) from fly ash. Static solvent extraction rather than dynamic extraction showed a higher recovery of PCDFs, which was adsorbed strongly with fly ash. The effects of parameters, such as temperature, toluene-isopropyl alcohol mixture, static and dynamic time flow rate, and solvent volume on the extraction were investigated and the variations in average recoveries of PCDFs were explained. In both extractions, temperature was an effective parameter because the higher temperature gave the higher recoveries. In dynamic solvent extraction, dynamic time was more effective than flow rate and solvent volume for the extraction of PCDFs from fly ash. Multi-layer column chromatography on neutral and acidic silica gel with n-hexane was used for cleaning up the extracts. The quantification of the PCDFs extracted was performed using HPLC-UV.

Sports video is a very critical information resource. High-precision extraction of effective segments in sports video can better assist coaches in analyzing the player's actions in the video, and enable users to more intuitively appreciate the player's hitting action. Aiming at the shortcomings of the current sports video clip extraction results, such as strong subjectivity, large workload and low efficiency, a classification method of sports video clips based on MobileNetV3 is proposed to save user time. Experiments evaluate the effectiveness of effective segment extraction. Among the extracted segments, the effective proportion is 97.0%, indicating that the effective segment extraction results are good, and it can lay the foundation for the construction of the subsequent badminton action metadata video dataset.

This paper presents a sub-band feature extraction approach in which the feature extraction method in the individual frequency sub-bands is determined in terms of speech recognition accuracy. As in the multi-band paradigm, features are extracted independently in frequency sub-regions of the speech signal. Since the spectral shape is well structured in the low frequency region, the all pole model is effective for feature extraction. But, in the high frequency region, the nonparametric transform, discrete cosine transform is effective for the extraction of cepstrum. Using the sub-band specific feature extraction method, the linguistic information in the individual frequency sub-bands can be extracted effectively for automatic speech recognition. The validity of the proposed method is shown by comparing the results of speech recognition experiments for our method with those obtained using a full-band feature extraction method.
To determine the optimum condition for the extraction of active components, noni adventitious roots were extracted under various conditions employing various solvents including methanolic water at different ratio (20, 40, 60, 80, and 100% water), extraction times and extraction methods. Anthraquinones, phenolic compounds, and flavonoids extraction using different solvents showed that 1 h of ultrasonic extraction was effective in 60-80% methanol, and 2 h of reflux extraction was effective in 80% methanol. To compare the extraction efficiency of active components according to different extraction methods and extraction times for noni adventitious roots, the active components were extracted by ultrasonic extraction, shaking extraction, reflux extraction, homogenizer extraction, high-pressure extraction, and soaking extraction. The highest phenolic contents were found in the extracted from ultrasonic extraction and anthraquinones and flavonoids contents were highest in the reflux extraction.

For MOSFET devices with nanometer range gate length, accurate extraction of effective gate length is highly important because transistor characteristics become very sensitive to effective channel length. In this paper, we propose a new approach to extract the effective channel length of nanometer range MOSFET by Capacitance Voltage(C-V) method. The effective channel length is extracted using gate to source/drain capacitance( $C_{gsd}$). It is shown that 1/$\beta$ method, Terada method and other C-V method are inadequate to extract the accurate effective channel length. Therefore, the proposed method is highly effective for extraction of effective channel length of 100nm CMOSFETs.s.

Rubiadin, a major compound of noni ($Morinda$$citrifolia$) adventitious root, is highly valued in pharmaceutical industry due to hepatoprotective activity. To dissect rubiadin's effective extraction condition, extraction process of noni adventitious roots was performed with different solvent types, ratio of water to methanol (water, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100% of methanol), extraction time, and extraction method. In contrast, we also developed a reverse- phase HPLC assay method to determine rubiadin from noni adventitious roots. The HPLC assay of rubiadin was performed by C-18 column using a gradient solvent system of methanol and water with UV detector at 280 nm. The extraction efficiency of different types of solvents were increased in order of methanol (0.08%) > ethanol (0.05%) > acetonitrile (0.03%) > acetone (0.02%) and methylene chloride (0.02%). The results of rubiadin extraction using different solvents showed that 1 hour of ultrasonic extraction was effective in order of 60% methanol (0.21%) > 80% methanol (0.13%) > 100% methanol (0.07%), 40% methanol (0.07%) and 2 hours of reflux extraction was effective in order of 60% methanol (0.21%) > 40% methanol (0.17%) > 80% methanol (0.14%). To compare the extraction efficiency of rubiadin according to the extraction methods and time for high rubiadin content, the extracts of rubiadin in noni adventitious roots were isolated with the methods of ultrasonic extraction, shaking extraction and reflux extraction. Rubiadin extracted from the methods of ultrasonic waves and shaking displayed the highest contents at 8 and 24 hours, respectively.

Effective gate resistance, extracted by direct extraction method, is analyzed among various gate length, in nanoscale MOSFET for RFIC. Extracted effective gate resistance is compared to measured data and verified with simplified model. Extracted parameters are accurate to 10GHz. In the same process technology effect has a different kind of gate voltage dependency and frequency dependency compared with general effective gate resistance. Particularly, the characteristic of effective gate resistance before and after threshold voltage is noticeable. When gate voltage is about threshold voltage, effective gate resistance is abnormally high. This characteristic will be an important reference for RF MOSFET modeling using direct extraction method.
