  • Customizing system is known as an important factor which affects not only purchase, loyalty and immersion of the user. In this study, we explore the concept of character-customizing system in the early stage of a game; on the basis of it, we compare cases by analyzing and schematizing certain types of systems which many games stick to. Customizing system types are divided into a basic case and a differentiated convergence case; based on it, they are classified into four types: Realistic, Creation, Individual, Additional; plus, another customizing system case out of games is also analyzed. To improve customer loyalty, a system like a differentiated case that attracts user participation is essential. Through a variety of character customization convergence cases shown in this study, we expect them to be used as game production guides. By enlarging the range of the study, we expect further studies to cover more cases.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate urban parks and green spaces within the public service framework by identifying priority elements. This study surveyed 455 residents from 80 dongs(neighborhoods), of 5 Gu(districts) districts in Daejeon. The results were as follows. Regarding the evaluation of urban parks as a public service, the average survey score, of all 46 questions, was distributed from 2.46 to 3.54(Likert 5 point scale). Interesting findings can be observed in that most of the survey participants gave high scores to Daejon's natural green environments and geographical traits. That is, Daejon residents perceived their urban nature spaces as a natural geographical environment rather than a public service provided by their local government. Therefore, it seems necessary for the local government, by and large, to improve urban parks and urban green space programs. The low scoring items were 'citizen's participation'(mean 2.46), 'acceptance of complaints, comments, and improvement proposals'(mean 2.54), 'citizen's respect', 'inclusive design' (for the physically challenged-mean 2.55), 'diverse programs and activities in the urban park'(mean 2.55) and 'implementation of revision proposals by citizens'(mean 2.61). These results indicate that citizen participation in planning and opinion sharing is needed to build public services that are satisfactory to users. To evaluate the park and green space from the viewpoint of public services is a useful method with a new point of view. In accordance with this study, the factor of 'supply decision maker' is a statistically meaningful variable of resident satisfaction while earlier studies on the satisfaction studies of physical environment, hardly discovered variables on 'supply decision maker', 'acceptance of resident opinions', and 'information usage'. Responding to or taking positive action according to significant factors, such as the findings of this study, can expand the role of public officials to exert a more positive influence on urban parks and green spaces.

  • This research studied the effect of visual improvement of "72 Hour Project" that has regenerated small scale derelict spaces in Seoul through citizen participation. 29 projects built form 2016 to 2019 were analyzed. The research analyzed landscape image preference of before and after status of projects using 12 pairs of landscape adjectives. Basic statistical analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA were performed based on the survey results. Since the satisfaction level of the projects compared with the before-condition was 3.63 higher than 3.00, it could be concluded that there was an meaningful effect of visual improvement after completion of the projects. As the result of the factor analysis, landscape adjective pairs were categorized into two factors: harmony and aesthetics. Through the cluster analysis, four clusters were formed and characteristics of each cluster were identified. As the result of rhe cluster analysis, the cluster with the high harmony level and the aesthetics level showed the highest overall satisfaction level. Comparing each cluster, it could be concluded that the factor of harmony was more important than the factor of aesthetics in evaluating the satisfaction level of projects. Analyzing qualitative aspects of project groups, spatially well-balanced design with generous vegetation areas was more effective in landscape improvement than artistic design with visually strong installations. Further researches based on behavior studies of actual users are required to compensate the limits of this research. This research can contribute to establish the improved direction of policies to regenerate various types of small scale derelict spaces.

  • Purpose - Sharing economy is a promising research topic as a complementary approach for solving difficult issues resulting from market economy. Motive factors for consumer participation in sharing economy are necessary to facilitate the growth of sharing economy. This study analyzes motives for participating in sharing economy using samples from a car sharing service in South Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - Four hypotheses drawn from a new research model integrating the relationships between economic and social value, social value, and the intention to use sharing economy services were proposed. 292 valid samples were collected from Socar users in South Korea. Multiple regression analysis was employed to test the hypotheses. Results - An empirical study identified the importance of convenience and time savings as determinants of intention to use continuously a car sharing service. Cost savings and social value did not significantly influence the intention to use car sharing service. Conclusions - The present study implies that managers working in sharing economy don't have to miss a role of convenience. Although a new finding implies that convenience is an important factor influencing car sharing service, the present study has a limitation of generality that samples are mostly collected from the age range of 20 to 30 years.

  • Vibration responses of a centrifugal pump required dynamic analysis for seismic qualification, were calculated by using spectrum analysis, which is known to be very simple compared with time domain analysis. Modal analysis was performed and the results were utilized in the spectrum analysis. The vibration responses calculated from the spectrum analysis were more conservative than those from the time domain analysis, that is, the former can be used as safer in design process. The pump was qualified for the specified seismic service conditions as specified in IEEE 344-1987. The maximum stresses were less than allowable stress limits. Based on the analysis results, it is concluded that the pump meets all the dynamic requirements of the applicable codes, standards, and technical specification.

  • Purpose - This research examines the effect of a foreign subsidiary on the productivity growth of a Two-way trading manufacturing firm in Korea. We explore firms engaged in both trade and FDI simultaneously to verify whether participation in GVC as a broad concept is an efficient internationalization strategy to increase the productivity of a Korean manufacturing firm. Design/methodology - Based on the firm-level data by utilizing the Survey of Business Activities from Statistics Korea, we examine the impact of vertically integrated foreign subsidiaries on the productivity of a manufacturing firm that exports and imports simultaneously. Findings - The results show that if a Two-way trading firm establishes one or more overseas subsidiaries, the total factor productivity growth increases. Moreover, the FDI effect is statistically significant when the destination country has an economically close relationship with Korea. However, these effects are disparate depending on the industrial competitiveness or market situation where the subsidiary is located. Nonetheless, the synergy effect resulting from industrial combination is represented in China and the USA only. Originality/value - As the importance of GVC has become more emphasized around the world. In spite of the scarcity of related domestic studies, we explored the effect of multinational manufacturing firms participating in GVC using firm-level data.

Research questions applied in this study include following; i) how are factors on dissatisfaction related to types of transportation modes; ii) how do perceived proposed factors affect citizen dissatisfaction; iii) how do the improvement of public transportation service affect the level of expected satisfaction; and iv) how do expected satisfaction affect policy agreement and government trust. Research design, data and methodology: For qualitative research, civil opinions were collected and chi-square analysis was applied using keywords. For quantitative research, online survey was collected and factor and multiple regression analyses were applied. 3) Results: This study found that efficiency of operation system and safety on dissatisfaction showed significant in all three public transportation modes. This study found that perception of government policy and trust on government will increase as expected satisfaction increases. Conclusions: This study provides managerial and policy implications on society and policy makers by addressing necessity of improving strategies for public transportation system with the consideration of citizen relationship management and sustainable development.
