초등과학영재학생의 과학지식과 과학창의성의 관계 - 생명 영역을 중심으로 - (The Relationship between Scientific Content Knowledge and Scientific Creativity of Science-Gifted Elementary Students - Focusing on the Subject of Biology -)

  • This study aims to analyze the relationship between scientific content knowledge of science-gifted elementary students and their expression of scientific creativity, and the characteristics of divided groups according to the levels of their scientific content knowledge and scientific creativity. A science-gifted program was implemented to 33 forth-graders in the Science-Gifted Education Center of an education office in Seoul, Korea. The method of evaluating scientific knowledge was divided into well-structured paper-pencil test (asking specific and limited range of content knowledge of plants) and ill-structured descriptive test (stating all the knowledge they know about plants) to find out which methods were more related to scientific creativity. In addition, in order to find out the characteristics of each group according to the level of scientific content knowledge and scientific creativity, students were required to answer a questionnaire about their own self-perception of scientific knowledge and scientific creativity and how to obtain scientific knowledge. The main results of this study are as follows. First, Both well-structured paper-pencil test (r=.38) and ill-structured descriptive test (r=.51) results of elementary science gifted students were significantly correlated with scientific creativity. Second, As a result of the regression analysis on scientific creativity of science-gifted elementary students, both the knowledge measured by the two evaluation methods have the ability to explain scientific creativity. Third, the students were categorized into four groups according to the levels of their scientific content knowledge and their expression of scientific creativity, and the result showed that the higher the knowledge of science, the higher the scientific creativity. Fourth, the description about self-perception of scientific knowledge revealed that the highest percentage of Type LL students of all 13 students (53.8%, 7 students) answered 'I have little knowledge of plants because I have little interest in them.' Fifth, the description about self-perception of scientific knowledge revealed that the highest percentage of Type HH students of all 15 students (40%, 6 students) answered 'I think my science creativity is high through my experience of scientific creativity. Sixth, the responses to the Questionnaire revealed that 'reading' was the most popular way to obtain scientific knowledge, with 27 out of total 33 students choosing it. In particular, all 18 students from Type HH (high scientific knowledge and high scientific creativity) and Type HL (high scientific knowledge and low scientific creativity) - those with high scientific knowledge - gave that response. On the basis of this research, we should explore practical teaching methods and environment for gifted students to improve their scientific creativity by revealing the nature of the factors that affect scientific creativity and analyzing relationship between knowledge and scientific creativity.

음악 활동을 통한 유아 창의·인성교육 프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (A Study on Early Childhood Creativity and the Development of a Personality Education Program for Preschoolers Through Music Activities)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to develop an education program using music activities for promoting young children's creativity and personality and to analyze the impact of this program on the creativity and personality of young children in child care classrooms. Methods: The study consisted of how the creativity and personality education program using music activities for young children was developed and the impact of the program on 5-year-old children's creativity and personality. The experimental treatment was conducted on a total of 16 occasions for eight weeks. The data were collected through the preschooler Creativity test(K·CCTYC) and The Empathy Index for Children and Adolescents (IECA) and Skill Situation Measures were used to analyze the effects of experimental treatment with paired t-test. Results: First, the program had positive effects on fluency, flexibility, originality and imagination of creativity. Second, the program had positive effects on empathy ability and prosociality. Conclusion/Implications: The effectiveness of the creativity and personality education programs using music activities for promoting young children's creativity and personality and the ways to promote young children's creativity and personality in early childhood educations institutes were discussed.

미술 작품 감상 활동이 유아의 창의성 발달에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Art Appreciation on the Development of Children's Creativity)

  • In this investigation of the effect of art appreciation on children's creativity, art appreciation activities were provided for 20 five-year-old kindergarten children over an 8-week period. Data collected with the use of the General Creativity Test for Children(Chon, 1995) were analyzed by t-test, ANCOVA and regression. Analyses revealed that the experimental group with the art appreciation activities developed a higher level of creativity on all scales of creativity, including originality, fluency, flexibility, and imagination and in all areas of physical, linguistic, and diagrammatic creativity. Boys were more creative than girls in imagination, originality and physical creativity.

초.중학생 창의성 영재 선발 검사에 나타난 창의성 요인별 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Creativity Factors Found in Elementary and Middle School Creative Gifted Student Selection Test)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초등학교와 중학교의 영재학생들을 대상으로 TTCT(Torrance Test of Creative Thinking)를 실시하여 창의성 영재를 선발하고, 선발된 창의성 영재들의 창의적 특성들이 초등학생과 중학생 간, 수학영재와 과학영재 간 어떤 차이가 있는가를 밝힘으로써 창의성 영재들의 창의적 특성을 규명해 보려는 것이다. 이를 위해 전라북도교육청 산하 17개 영재교육원 학생 중 수퍼영재교육을 희망한 594명을 대상으로 창의성 영재를 선발, 초등학생과 중학생의 창의성 요인의 차이 검증(t-test), 수학영재와 과학영재의 창의성 요인의 차이검증(t-test), 창의성 영재선발에 영향을 미치는 창의성 요인들의 초 중학생 간 및 수학영재 과학영재 간 차이검증(중다회귀분석)을 하였다. 연구결과, TTCT는 창의성 영재 선발과 탈락을 변별하는 역량이 있으나, 창의성 요인 중 '유창성'과 '독창성', '유창성'과 '정교성' 간에는 각각 .78, .50의 상관계수를 보여 창의성 요인의 고유성이 낮을 가능성이 발견되었다. 또 중학생은 초등학생에 비해 유창성(원 그림)과 정교성 요인(그림구성, 그림완성, 원 그림), 제목의 추상성(그림구성)이 유의하게 낮으며, 과학 영재는 수학영재에 비해 독창성(그림구성)과 정교성(그림구성, 그림완성, 원 그림) 요인에서 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 따라서 창의성 영재 선발을 위한 검사의 타당도를 높이기 위한 방법이 계속 연구되어야 하며, 학년이 높아지면서 창의성이 낮아지는 문제의 해결방법과 교과별 영재의 창의성을 기르기 위한 방안이 모색될 필요가 있다.

과학 창의성 향상을 위한 가족활동(FAISC) 프로그램의 적용 효과 (An Application Effect of Family Activity for Improving Scientific Creativity (FAISC))

  • 이전 연구(Jee & Park, 2013)에서, 일반 가정에서 가족활동을 통해 과학 창의성을 향상시키기 위한 활동자료를 개발하고 적용하였다. 이를 위해 12 가족을 두 구룹으로 나누어 각각 6개의 과학 창의성 프로그램으로 제공하여 주당 한 개 프로그램씩 6주간 실시하도록 하였다. 그 결과 참가자들로부터 다양한 긍정적인 반응을 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이전 연구에 이어서, 가정에서의 가족활동을 통해서 과학창의성이 향상되는지를 정량적으로 검증해 보고자 하였고, 가정에서의 창의성 지도 가능성에 대한 학부모의 의견을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 사전 및 사후조사에서 사용할 각각 3개 문항으로 구성된 과학 창의성 조사 도구를 개발하여 적용하였다. 이 도구에는 Park(2011)이 정의한 다양한 과학 창의성 요소들이 포함되도록 하였다. 학부모 의견을 알아보기 위해서는 설문지를 개발하여 적용하였다. 실시 결과, 학부모들은 기본적인 방법만 습득하면 누구나 과학 창의성 활동을 수행할 수 있으며, 효과적인 프로그램만 있다면 가정에서도 수행할 수 있다는 인식으로 변화된 것으로 나타났다. 또 창의성 평가를 통해서도 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 통계적으로 유의미하고 효과의 크기도 매우 크게 창의성이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 앞으로 과학 창의성 활동을 가정 내에서 뿐 아니라, 캠프나 여가활동 중 또는 과학관 등에서 가족형 프로그램으로 확대 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대되었다.

글 없는 그림책을 활용한 통합 활동이 유아의 창의성 신장에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Integrated Activities Using Wordless Picture Books on Increase in Preschool Children's Creativity)

  • This study purposed to examine the effects of integrated activities based on wordless picture books on increase in children's creativity. As for the subject of this study, 20 five-year old children(9 boys and 11 girls), who go to D Kindergarten in Ulsan-si, were selected as a experimental group and 20 five-year old children(8 boys and 12 girls) as comparative group, who attend B Kindergarten in Ulsan-si. For this study, all children of the groups were taken pre-test. After this experiment, difference in creativity of two groups was examined through post-test. The total of 42 sessions were conducted for 14 weeks from the first week of April to the second week of July, 2005. The test tool for this study was Creativity Scale developed by Kim Sang-yun (2003). To verify study questions, the mean of the two groups and the standard deviation were calculated and independent-sample t-test was carried out using SPSS WIN 11.5. The results of this study were as the following: First, integrated activities based on wordless picture books showed statistically significant difference in children's creativity between the experimental group and the comparative one(p<.001), which suggested that the activities affected increase in children's creativity in general. Second, integrated activities centering around wordless picture books indicated statistically significant difference in fluency(p<.05), flexibility(p<.01) and originality(p<.001), sub-factors of children's creativity, between the experimental group and the comparative one. This result revealed that these activities were effective. Third, integrated activities based on wordless picture books did not show significant difference in elaboration, a sub-factor of children's creativity, between the two groups. As the result of this study, integrated activities based on wordless picture books had positive effects on increase in children's creativity.

공과 대학생의 창의성 과목 수강 경험과 학년에 따른 창의성의 차이 (Differences of Creativity in Engineering Students by Grade and Experiences of Taking Courses)

  • This study was carried out to investigate how grade level and experiences when taking courses affect the creativity of engineering students in a Korean college. The sample group consisted of 372 engineering students of which 49.5% were first graders, 15.6% second graders, 22.6% third graders, and 12.4% fourth graders. They conducted self-report measures on a domain-general and domain-specific view of creativity. The engineering creativity test, developed by Kang and Yune (2015), is based on the domain-specific view of creativity and consists of four sub-factors: creative attitude, knowledge research, interest in engineering, and team work ability. The domain-general creativity test consists of three sub-factors. Analysis of the results led to the following conclusions: First, we found significant differences in engineering creativity between students depending on experiences in taking courses and tests; and, second, we discovered significant differences in integrative creativity among students depending on experiences in taking courses and tests, and/or grade level. These conclusions suggest that we should develop and apply appropriate strategies to enhance creativity in engineering education.

Development of a Mathematical Creativity Test for Bengali Medium School Students

  • Based on the work of Haylock (cf [Haylock, D. W. (1987). A framework for assessing mathematical creativity in schoolchildren. Educ. Stud. Math. 18(1),59-74]) a mathematical creativity test containing items of two categories overcoming fixation and divergent thinking has been developed for Bengali medium school students with sample size 262. The items measuring divergent thinking are found highly internally consistent and there is a significant correlation between overcoming fixation and divergent thinking. Study of the factorial validity of the test by Thursstone's centroid method gives satisfactory result. Validity coefficient of the test with teachers' rating, alpha reliability and test-retest reliability of the test are also found satisfactory.

디자인 사고를 적용한 SW교육이 초등학교 예비교사의 창의성에 미치는 효과 (The effect of SW education applying Design Thinking on creativity of elementary school pre-service teachers)

  • 본 연구는 디자인 사고를 적용한 SW교육이 초등학교 예비교사의 창의성에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 제주 소재 한 대학교 초등컴퓨터교육 강좌를 신청한 학부 1학년 22명의 초등학교 예비교사들을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였다. 연구대상인 예비교사들은 SW교육에 대한 기본적인 이해를 하지 못하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 연구에 사용할 EPL 도구인 스크래치 프로그램에 대한 기초적인 지식을 갖추지 못하였다. 따라서 창의성 사전검사 이전에 18차시에 걸쳐 SW교육에 대한 기본 교육과 스크래치 프로그램의 기본 기능을 학습하는 시간을 가졌다. 창의성 사전검사를 실시하고 21시간에 걸쳐 디자인 사고를 적용한 SW교육을 진행한 후 창의성 사후검사를 실시하였다. 창의성 검사도구로는 Torrance의 TTCT 도형 검사지 A, B형을 사용하여 분석하였다. 검증 결과, 디자인 사고를 적용한 SW교육이 초등학교 예비교사들의 창의성 향상에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

부모(父母)-자녀관계(子女關係) 및 출생순위(出生順位)와 창의성간(創意性間)의 상관관계(相關關係) 연구(硏究) (The Study of Correlation between Parent-Child Relationship, Birth Order, and Creavity)

  • I. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study lies in examining following items: 1. Difference in creativity between boys and girls 2. Inter correlation of the sub-variables of creativity 3. Correlation between parent-child relationship and creativity 4. The relationship between creativity and number of siblings 5. Creativity and birth-order II. METHODS & PROCED URES 1. Instruments: Standardized Creativity Test and Parent-Child Relationship Test for children 2. Objects: 118 boys and 97 girls enrolled in primary schools in Seoul who were selected by random sampling 3. Procedure: (1) The data of the boy group and the girl group were analized by means of M,t, SD. (2)The relationships between creativity and the number of siblings as well as the relationship between creativity and birth order were analyzed by M. (3) Inter-correlations among the sub-factors of creativity were obtained in boys and girls. (4) Complex-correlations between creativity and parent child relationship were produced. III. RESULTS 1. There were no significant differences between boy and girl in creativity. 2. Inter correlation among the sub-factors of creativity Boy: The highest scores were obtained in fluidity, and adaptability, the lowest in originality and openness. Girl: The highest score were obtained in world scribbling and fluidity, the comparatively low were in originality and a match-problem. 3. Inter-correlation between creativity and parent-child relationship a. Father-son: The positive refusal type has the most significant relation and conflict type, discrepancy type, negative type in turn have significant inter-coorelations. b. Mother-son: Discrepancy type, conflict type, positive refusal type have high correlations, while negative refusal type, anticipation type, and anxiety show significance in 5% level. c. Father-daughter: Positive refusal type shows correlation of 5% level significance, while indulgence type shows negative correlation in 1% level significance. d. Mother-daughter: Discrepancy type shows 5% level significance, while indulgence type shows negative correlation in 1% level. 4. Concerning the number of siblings, it was found that, boys and girls alike, those grown among 3 or 5 showed most creativity. 5. Concerning the birth order, it was found that, boys and girls alike, the first child showed the most creativity, and the youngest showed the next to the most, while the middle showed the least creativity.
