  • In this paper we study the quasi-neutral limit of the compressible magnetohydrodynamic flows in the periodic domain ${\mathbb{T}}^3$ with the well-prepared initial data. We prove that the weak solution of the compressible magnetohydrodynamic flows governed by the Poisson equation converges to the strong solution of the compressible flow of magnetohydrodynamic flows as long as the latter exists.

  • Recently the micro flows have been received much attention in the applications with regard to Micro Electro Mechanical Systems(MEMS). Such flows are governed by relatively large viscous forces, compared with inetia force, and frequently specified by slip wall boundary conditions. In the present study, computations are applied to investigate the compressible viscous flows through an extremely small channel, and theoretical analyses are conducted using the Fanno flow theory. The axisymmetic, compressible, Wavier-Stokes equations are numerically solved by a fully implicit finite implicit method. The predicted results are validated with previous experimental data available. The results obtained show that for small Reynolds numbers, the viscous frictional force significantly influences the compressible micro channel flows.

  • Generally, Compressible Navier-Stokes codes are used to solve high mach number flows. But, Most of high mach number flows embrace low mach number flows. This phenomenon results in low convergence rate and non-physical solution in CFD analysis. So Many researchers developed preconditioning technique to solve these problems. This Study presents how to modify previous compressible N-S computer code with little changes of structure into preconditioned compressible N-S code applying Roe's Approximate Riemann Solver. And this study show developed preconditioning code is very well operated at all mach number flows.

  • A well-known pressure correction method, a SIMPLE algorithm is extended to treat compressible flows. Collocated grids are used and density is linked to pressure via an equation of state. The influence of pressure on density in the case of compressible flows is implicitly incorporated into the extended SIMPLE algorithm. The first-order Upwind and high-order Quick scheme are compared with respect to an accuracy and convergence time at all speeds. The extended method is verified on a number of test cases and the results we compared with other numerical results available in the literature. The calculated results show that the Quick scheme improves accuracy at all speed and also reduces the calculation time at supersonic flows, compared with the Upwind scheme.

  • The characteristics of compressible flow are different from those of incompressible flow from the mathematical and physical point of view. Therefore, the way to solve the flowfield is different between compressible flow and incompressible flow. In general, density-based numerical algorithm is mainly used for compressible flow solver development. On the other hand, incompressible flow solver prefers to use pressure-based numerical algorithm. In this research, a compressible Navier-Stokes flow solver is developed by means of extending from pressure-based incompressible numerical algorithm to handle both compressible and incompressible flows using the same flow solver. The present flow solver is tested at various speed ranges and compared with the solutions of density-based compressible flow solver. Numerical results show a good agreement between two flow solvers.

  • Unstructured grid system is suitable for flows of complex geometries. For problems with moving boundary walls, the grid system must be changed and deformed with time if we use a body fitted grid system. In this paper, a new moving-grid finite-volume method on unstructured grid system is proposed and developed for unsteady compressible flows with shock waves. To assure geometric conservation laws on moving grid system, a control volume on the space-time unified domain is adopted for estimating numerical flux. The method is described and applied for two-dimensional flows.

  • A numerical method using dual time stepping and preconditioning procedure for efficient computations of unsteady low speed compressible flow problems is developed. The time-derivative preconditioning method which is valid at low speed flow conditions cannot maintain temporal accuracy because of the modification of the time-derivative term in Navier-Stokes equations. The dual time stepping procedure is incorporated to enable the time accurate computations and this procedure introduces a pseudo-time derivative in addition to the physical time derivative. At a given physical time, an inner iteration can be carried out until a steady state in pseudo-time is achieved. This will effectively yield a time accurate solution. Computational capabilities of the above algorithm are demonstrated through computation of a variety of practical fluid flows and it is shown that the algorithms is efficient in the essentially incompressible flows and low Mach number compressible flows with heat source.

  • Parabolized stability equations for compressible flows in general curvilinear coordinate system are derived to deal with a broad range of transition prediction problems on complex geometry. A highly accurate finite difference PSE code has been developed using an implicit marching procedure. Compressible and incompressible flat plate flow stability under two-dimensional and three¬dimensional disturbances has been investigated to test the present code. Results of the present computation are found to be in good agreement with the multiple scale analysis and DNS data. Stability calculation results by the present PSE code for compressible boundary layer at Mach numbers ranging from 0.02 to 1.5 are also presented and are again seen to be as accurate as the spectral method.
