  • An almost complex torus manifold is a 2n-dimensional compact connected almost complex manifold equipped with an effective action of a real n-dimensional torus Tn ≃ (S1)n that has fixed points. For an almost complex torus manifold, there is a labeled directed graph which contains information on weights at the fixed points and isotropy spheres. Let M be a 6-dimensional almost complex torus manifold with Euler number 6. We show that two types of graphs occur for M, and for each type of graph we construct such a manifold M, proving the existence. Using the graphs, we determine the Chern numbers and the Hirzebruch χy-genus of M.

  • In this paper, we establish a necessary condition in terms of curvature for the Kobayashi hyperbolicity of a class of almost complex Finsler manifolds. For an almost complex Finsler manifold with the condition (R), so-called Rizza manifold, we show that there exists a unique connection compatible with the metric and the almost complex structure which has the horizontal torsion in a special form. With this connection, we define a holomorphic sectional curvature. Then we show that this holomorphic sectional curvature of an almost complex submanifold is not greater than that of the ambient manifold. This fact, in turn, implies that a Rizza manifold is hyperbolic if its holomorphic sectional curvature is bounded above by -1.

  • We first introduce a complex hyperbolic space and a complex hyperbolic manifold. After defining the canonical horoball and the canonical cusp on the complex hyperbolic manifold, we estimate the volumes of canonical cusps of complex hyperbolic manifolds. Finally, we deal with cusped, complex hyperbolic 2-manifolds, and in particular, the ones with only one cusp.

  • It is recently proved by Aiyama and the authors [2] that a complete space-like complex submanifold of a complex space form $M^{n+p}$$_{p}$ (c') (c'.geq.0) is to totally geodesic. This is a complex version of the Bernstein-type theorem in the Minkowski space due to Calabi [4] and Cheng and Yau [5], which is generalized by Nishikawa[7] in the Lorentz manifold satisfying the strong energy condition. The purpose of this paper is to consider his result in the complex Lorentz manifold and is to prove the following.e following.

  • We consider the connections $\nabla$ on the Rizza manifold (M, J, L) satisfying ${\nabla}G=0\;and\;{\nabla}J=0$. Among them, we derive a Lichnerowicz connection from the Cart an connection and characterize it in terms of torsion. Generalizing Kahler condition in Hermitian geometry, we define a Kahler condition for Rizza manifolds. For such manifolds, we show that the Cartan connection and the Lichnerowicz connection coincide and that the almost complex structure J is integrable.

  • First, we define phase tropical hypersurfaces in terms of a degeneration data of smooth complex algebraic hypersurfaces in (ℂ∗)n. Next, we prove that complex hyperplanes are homeomorphic to their degeneration called phase tropical hyperplanes. More generally, using Mikhalkin's decomposition into pairs-of-pants of smooth algebraic hypersurfaces, we show that a phase tropical hypersurface with smooth tropicalization is naturally a topological manifold. Moreover, we prove that a phase tropical hypersurface is naturally homeomorphic to a symplectic manifold.

  • The notion of the almost Hermitian Finsler manifold admitting an almost complex structure $f^i_j(x)$ was, for the first time, introduced by G. B. Rizza [8]. It is known that the almost Hermitian Finsler manifold (or a Rizza manifold) has been studied by Y. Ichijyo [2] and H. Hukui [1]. In those papers, the almost Hermitian Finsler manifold which the h-covariant derivative of the almost complex structure $f^i_j(x)$ with respect to the Cartan's Finsler connection vanishes was defined as the Kaehlerian Finsler manifold. The nearly Kaehlerian Finsler manifold was defined and studied by the former of authors [7]. The present paper is the continued study of above paper.

  • Let X be a closed almost complex 4-manifold with $b_2^+(X) > 1$, and have its canonical line bundle as a basic class. Then the pseudo-holomorphic 2-dimensional submanifolds in X with nonnegative self-intersection minimize genus in their homology classes.

  • In this paper, the Post Process for the manifold complex processing using CAD/CAM Software of two and a half Dimensions(2.5D) has been developed to maximize the application of the manifold manufacturing machine. Many companies are currently making use of high price systems to improve manufacturing process using the multi-axial complex manufacturing machine. In accordance with the requirements, the utilization of CAD/CAM Software for the manifold complex manufacturing machine is earnestly demanded. However, the experts who have experience in manifold manufacturing machine are insufficient. Consequently the outcomes of the Post Process for 2.5D CAD/CAM Systems have been dealt in order to be smoothly operated by those who have basic skills and be understood in process drawings. CNC program functions can be specially used as they are, when drawn up. The Post Process for the original point designation and transformation of coordinates has been developed and applied. The results gave proof of practical manufacturing outcomes.
