  • We study the existence of solutions for overdetermined PDE systems that admit prolongation to a complete system. We reduce the problem to a Pfaffian system on a submanifold of the jet space of unknown functions and then express the integrability conditions in terms of the coefficients of the original system. As possible applications we present some local problems in CR geometry: determining the CR embeddibility into spheres and the existence of infinitesimal CR automorphisms.

  • We obtain a result on complete convergence of weighted sums for arrays of rowwise independent Banach space valued random elements. No assumptions are given on the geometry of the underlying Banach space. The result generalizes the main results of Ahmed et al. [1], Chen et al. [2], and Volodin et al. [14].

  • We prove that if a given complete Riemannian manifold is roughly isometric to a complete Riemannian manifold satisfying the volume doubling condition, the Poincar inequality and the finite covering condition at infinity on each end, then every positive harmonic function on the manifold is asymptotically constant at infinity on each end. This result is a direct generalization of those of Yau and of Li and Tam.

  • We study some special cases of Chow groups of a ramified complete regular local ring R of dimension n. We prove that (a) for codimension 3 Gorenstein ideal I, [I] = 0 in $A_{n-3}(R)$ and (b) for a particular class of almost complete intersection prime ideals P of height i, [P] = 0 in $A_{n-i}(R)$.

  • In this paper, optimal block designs for complete diallel crosses are proposed. These optimal block designs for estimating general combining abilities are constructed by using balanced incomplete block designs and nested balanced incomplete block designs. Also, the efficiency of the optimal block design obtained through this method is reported in table.

  • This paper addresses for the first time the use of complete data information criteria in unsupervised learning of the Naive-Bayes model. A Monte Carlo study sets a large experimental design to assess these criteria, unusual in the Bayesian network literature. The simulation results show that complete data information criteria underperforms the Bayesian information criterion (BIC) for these Bayesian networks.

  • In this note, companion to the paper [10], we describe an alternative method for finding Laurent polynomials mirror-dual to complete intersections in Grassmannians of planes, in the sense discussed in [10]. This calculation follows a general method for finding torus charts on Hori-Vafa mirrors to complete intersections in toric varieties, detailed in [5] generalising the method of [8].
