The fiber optic Sagnac interferometer is well established as a sensor for detection of physical perturbations such as acoustic and vibration. In this paper acoustic signals generated in the cylindrical cavity submerged in transformer oil were measured by the fiber optic sensor array in one Sagnac loop. Two different external sound frequencies, $f_1$ and $f_2$, were applied to the sensor array simultaneously by using piezoelectric with frequency range from 5 kHz to 90 kHz. Based on the experimental results, fiber optic sensor detected harmonic series of applied sound frequency such as $f_1$, $f_2$, $2f_1$, $2f_2$, ${\mid}f_1-f_2{\mid}$, ${\mid}f_1+f_2{\mid}$. Suggested fiber optic sensor array can be applied to monitor physical quantities such as internal sound pressure and vibration due to partial discharge in the real electric transformer system.
We report on the first error-free terahertz (THz) wireless communication at 0.310 THz for data rates up to 8.2 Gbps using a 18-GHz-bandwidth GaAs/AlGaAs field-effect transistor as a detector. This result demonstrates that low-cost commercially-available plasma-wave transistors whose cut-off frequency is far below THz frequencies can be employed in THz communication. Wireless communication over 50 cm is presented at 1.4 Gbps using a uni-travelling-carrier photodiode as a source. Transistor integration is detailed, as it is essential to avoid any deleterious signals that would prevent successful communication. We observed an improvement of the bit error rate with increasing input THz power, followed by a degradation at high input power. Such a degradation appears at lower powers if the photodiode bias is smaller. Higher-data-rate communication is demonstrated using a frequency-multiplied source thanks to higher output power. Bit-error-rate measurements at data rates up to 10 Gbps are performed for different input THz powers. As expected, bit error rates degrade as data rate increases. However, degraded communication is observed at some specific data rates. This effect is probably due to deleterious cavity effects and/or impedance mismatches. Using such a system, realtime uncompressed high-definition video signal is successfully and robustly transmitted.
Background: Klebsiella spp. is an important conditional pathogen in humans and animals. However, due to the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, the incidence of antimicrobial resistance has increased. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate antimicrobial resistance in strains of Klebsiella strains and the phylogenetic relatedness of extended-spectrum cephalosporin (ESC)-resistance among Klebsiella strains isolated from clinically ill companion animals. Methods: A total of 336 clinical specimens were collected from animal hospitals. Identification of Klebsiella species, determination of minimum inhibitory concentrations, detection of ESC resistance genes, polymerase chain reaction-based replicon typing of plasmids by conjugation, and multilocus sequence typing were performed. Results: Forty-three Klebsiella strains were isolated and, subsequently, 28 were identified as K. pneumoniae, 11 as K. oxytoca, and 4 as K. aerogenes. Eleven strains were isolated from feces, followed by 10 from ear, 7 from the nasal cavity, 6 from urine, 5 from genitals, and 4 from skin. Klebsiella isolates showed more than 40% resistance to penicillin, cephalosporin, fluoroquinolone, and aminoglycoside. ESCresistance genes, CTX-M groups (CTX-M-3, CTX-M-15, and CTX-M-65), and AmpC (CMY-2 and DHA-1) were most common in the K. pneumoniae strains. Some K. pneumoniae carrying CTX-M or AmpC were transferred via IncFII plasmids. Two sequence types, ST709 and ST307, from K. pneumoniae were most common. Conclusions: In conclusion, this is the first report on the prevalence, ESCresistance genotypes, and sequence types of Klebsiella strains isolated from clinically ill companion animals. The combination of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance by Klebsiella in companion animals suggest that, in clinical veterinary, antibiotic selection should be made carefully and in conjunction with the disease diagnosis.

Objective: Endometriosis is a chronic debilitating inflammatory condition characterized by the presence of endometrial tissues outside the uterine cavity. Pelvic soreness and infertility are the usual association. Due to the poor effectiveness of the hormone therapy and the high incidence of recurrence following surgical excision, there is no single effective option for management of endometriosis. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stromal cells studied for their broad immunoregulatory and anti-inflammatory properties; however, their efficiency in endometriosis cases is still a controversial issue. Our study aim was to evaluate whether adipose tissue-derived MSCs (AD-MSCs) could help with endometriosis through their studied anti-inflammatory role. Methods: Female Wistar rats weighting 180 to 250 g were randomly divided into two groups: group 1, endometriosis group; established by transplanting autologous uterine tissue into rats' peritoneal cavities and group 2, stem cell treated group; treated with AD-MSCs on the 5th day after induction of endometriosis. The proliferative activity of the endometriosis lesions was evaluated through Ki67 staining. Quantitative estimation of interferon γ, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1β, IL-10, and transforming growth factor β expression, as well as immunohistochemical detection of CD68 positive macrophages, were used to assess the inflammatory status. Results: The size and proliferative activity of endometriosis lesions were significantly reduced in the stem cell treated group. Stem cells efficiently mitigated endometriosis associated chronic inflammatory reactions estimated through reduction of CD68 positive macrophages and the expression of the proinflammatory cytokines. Conclusion: Stem cell therapy can be considered a novel remedy in endometriosis possibly through its anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative properties.
This study was conducted to detect the serum antibodies in the experimentally toxoplasma infected dogs and street dogs by use the of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). And this test was performed on the polystylene microplate by coating with the tachyzoites soluble antigen of T gondii (RH strain), incubated with sera diluted then, added with HPO-conjugated rabbit anti-dog IgG and o-phenylenediamine used as a substrate. Tachyzoites of T gondii harvested from mouse peritoneal cavity were purified by 30, 40 and 50% Percoll density gradient centrifugation and used as the source of antigen. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The highest ratio of positive to negative (P/N ratio) was obtained at the level of $l{\mu}g/ml$ protein concentration of antigen with the 1/4000 dilution of the conjugate measured by checker-board titration. It was regarded as the optimum concentration of the antigen and conjugate. 2. Cut-off value in this IgG ELISA was 0.375 that was determined by mean absorbance (at 492nm) of IFA negative serum added with the dauble value of the standard deviation $(mean{\pm}2S.D.)$. 3. Serum ELISA IgG antibodies to T gondii in the exyerimentally infected dogs were detected firstly at the Week 3 after inoculation and the highest titer was recognized at the Week 4, 5 and 6 after inoculation. 4. Stability of the antigen absorbed in the microplates that were preserved at $4^{\circ}C$ and $-25^{\circ}C$ separately were prolonged up to 3 weeks and 10 weeks at $4^{\circ}C$ and $-25^{\circ}C$, respectively. However the reproducibility was not reliable after the preservation of 4 weeks and longer. 5. Positive rate of the specific antibodies in 312 test sera was 28.5% and there was no significant differences between the male (27.8%) and female (29.5%), respectively. 6. The IgG ELISA was proved to be a specific procedure for the detection of antibodies to canine toxoplasma infection and also evaluated as a screening test for the large scale of test samples in laboratory.
Purpose: Underground utility tunnel is facility that is jointly house infrastructure such as electricity, water and gas in city, causing condensation problems due to lack of airflow. This paper aims to prevent electricity leakage fires caused by condensation by detecting whether the control panel door in the underground utility tunnel is open using a deep learning model. Method: YOLO, a deep learning object recognition model, is trained to recognize the opening and closing of the control panel door using video data taken by a robot patrolling the underground utility tunnel. To improve the recognition rate, image augmentation is used. Result: Among the image enhancement techniques, we compared the performance of the YOLO model trained using mosaic with that of the YOLO model without mosaic, and found that the mosaic technique performed better. The mAP for all classes were 0.994, which is high evaluation result. Conclusion: It was able to detect the control panel even when there were lights off or other objects in the underground cavity. This allows you to effectively manage the underground utility tunnel and prevent disasters.

Pulse oximeter to monitor oxygen saturation during pediatric dental sedations enables early detection of hypoxemia. The purpose of this study was to monitor the hemoglobin oxygen saturation level and pulse rate of nonmedicated pediatric patients during routine restorative procedures to study the effect of procedure and treated jaw. We obtained data from 53 children treated at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Chonbuk national university hospital. Pulse rate and oxygen saturation were measured and recorded using pulse oximetry at each step of treatment. The results are as follows: 1. In non-anesthesia group, steep increase of pulse rate was observed during rubber dam application in the maxilla and during cavity preparation in the mandible. 2. In anesthesia group, pulse rate started to decrease after the rubber dam application in the maxilla, while its decrease observed since cavity preparation step in the mandible. 3. In non-anesthesia group, oxygen saturation level was relatively constant during all steps in the maxilla, but in mandible, it was higher during operation compared to its pre and post operation baseline. 4. In anesthesia group, oxygen saturation level was observed at 99% level through all steps in both jaw groups, and there was no statistical significance between the maxilla and the mandible groups(p>0.05). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of routine dental treatment on the pulse rate and oxygen saturation level in nonmedicated pediatric patients during routine restorative procedures in the maxilla and mandible.
Background: Base on types of tumor, the types of expressed tumor is diverse and the difference in its expression rate is even more various. Due to such reasons an animal model is absolutely needed for a clinical research of lung cancer. The author attempted oncogenesis by cultivating a cell line of non-small cell carcinoma and then injecting it inside thoracic cavities of nude mice. The author conducted quantitative analyses of HER2/neu tumor gene - an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) related to lung cancer, and TGF-${\beta}_1$, which acts as a resistance to cell growth inhibition and malignant degeneration. In order to investigate achievability of the oncogenesis, histological changes and the expression of cancer gene in case of orthotopic lung cancer is necessary. Material and Method: Among 20 immunity-free male BALB/c, five nude mice were selected as the control group and rest as the experimental group. Their weights ranged from 20 to 25 gm (Orient, Japan). After injection of lung cancer line (SW900 G IV) into the pleural cavity of nude mice, They were raised at aseptic room for 8 weeks. HER2/neu was quantitatively analyzed by separating serum from gathered blood via chemiluminiscent immunoassay (CLIA), and immunosandwitch method was applied to quantitatively analyze TGF-${\beta}_1$. SPSS statistical program (SPSS Version 10.0, USA) was implemented for statistical analysis. Student T test was done, and cases in which p-value is less than 0.05 were considered significant. Result: Even after lung cancer was formed in the normal control group or after intentionally injected lung cancer cell line, no amplification of HER2/neu gene showed reaction. However, the exact quantity of TGF-${\beta}_1$ was $28,490{\pm}8,549pg/mL$, and the quantity in the group injected with lung cancer cell was $42,362{\pm}14,449pg/mL$, meaning 1.48 times highly Significant (p<0.483). It proved that HER2/neu gene TGF-${\beta}_1$ had no meaningful interconnection. Conclusion: TGF-${\beta}_1$ gene expressed approximately 1.48 times amplification in comparison to the control group. The amplification of TGF-${\beta}_1$ meant somatic recuperation inhibition mechanism due to carcinogenesis in nude mice was definitely working. It may be implemented as a quantitative analysis that allows early detection of lung cancer in human body.
To examine whether HSV, VZV, H. pylori and Candida that are known to be microorganisms causing ulcerative disease in oral cavity and have the relatively high contigiousness are detected in saliva of patients with RAU and related to the development with RAU, PCR and culture were performed on the saliva of 29 patients with RAU and 29 control subjects who visited the Department of Oral Medicine, Dental Hospital, Chosun University. The results were obtained as follows; 1. HSV DNA was detected in 41.4% patients with RAU, and 55.2% control subjects, however, a significant difference between the two groups was not detected, (P>0.05), and VZV DNA was not detected in both groups. 2. H. pylori DNA was detected in 27.6% patients with RAU, and 48.3% control subjects, however, a significant difference between the two groups was not detected (P>0.05). 3. Candida was cultured in 13.8% patients with RAU, and 6.9% control subjects, however, a significant difference between the two groups was not detected (P>0.05). This results suggest that HSV, VZV, H. pylori and Candida can not be regarded to play a direct role in the development of RAU. Thus it is considered that in future, on a larger sample, also, it has to be examined whether other microorganisms acts as a trigger factor of the development of RAU.

We described a near-field scanning microwave microscope which uses a high-quality dielectric resonator with a tunable screw. The operating frequency is f=4.5 5GHz. The probe tip is mounted in a cylindrical resonant cavity coupled to a dielectric resonator We developed a hybrid tip combining a reduced length of the tapered part with a small apex. In order to understand the function of the probe, we fabricated three different tips using a conventional chemical etching technique and observed three different NSMM images for patterened Cr films on glass substrates. We measured the reflection coefficient of different metal thin film samples with the same thickness of 300m and compared with theoretical impedance respectly. By tuning the tunable screw coming through the top cover, we could improve sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, and spatial resolution to better than $1{\mu}m$. To demonstrate the ability of local microwave characterization, the surface resistance of metallic thin films has been mapped.
